  1. Um, John Romita Jr. has drawn three times as many comics at Marvel as his father. JRjr had defining runs on Iron Man and the X-Men, and he was a signature artist on Spider-Man comics for three different decades. I agree with the general assessment that his style has devolved and is almost unreadable now, but the man was no hack. He's one of the most tenured and accomplished artists any of the big companies has ever produced.
  2. Happy to pick up Sabretooth and Havok from this wave. I wish Havok had the collar thing around his neck, but that's not a deal-breaker. Even Vulcan and Darwin look awesome, though I don't plan on picking them up. I'll have at least two BAF parts to trade away.
  3. Very nice. Definitely shows the Gary Frank look in the face and head sculpt.
  4. Yeah, love it! This is the size and style Sentinel I would want in my collection.
  5. Happy that Ultron won and very happy that M.O.D.O.k., Thanos, and Frogman are represented. Also happy that Miles got so much love, even though I didn't buy that figure (but was tempted). I guess the only one I still don't understand is how much people liked the build-a-bear, but oh well.
  6. I hate what John Byrne did on West Coast Avengers. He ruined the Vision to such a degree that the character has never fully recovered. Needless to say, this is an easy pass.
  7. Just checked and I have 20 Legends pre-ordered for next year already (granted 1/5 of those are Skrulls).
  8. WTF HASBRO?!!?!?! My Pulse exclusive Invisible Woman arrived and the package is empty!!! There's no figure inside.
  9. I love the preposterousness that people are marketing this as Spider-Man's "black" costume when it's literally just his costume turned inside out. 😂
  10. I was gonna say that's the wrong movie, and then I noticed the little blister saying "inspired by Spider-Man Far From Home".
  11. Since I don't collect MCU figures, none of these appeal to me, but I sincerely hope all of them get made in the next year or two for those who want them. As for the look of the Lizard, I really like his overall body and head shape, I just wish he were clothed. I preferred those few precious seconds in The Amazing Spider-Man when he still had a lab coat on, before it got shredded and he ripped the pieces off his arms.
  12. I got the email from Pulse that my clear Invisible Woman shipped. Went to Target yesterday and saw 13 AoA Magnetos on the shelves, along with two or three Sabretooths.
  13. Given that the G.I. Joe Classified Spirit comes with an eagle that has at least four points of articulation, we better get a damn good Redwing when he's finally available.
  14. I knew as soon as they released the Wolverine and Phoenix 2-pack that they'd be repainted as brown costume and Dark Phoenix for the single-carded waves. A little surprised they did it so soon, though. Curious why this wave is only five figures instead of six.
  15. That is very impressive. Also the Thomas Hayden Church head for Sandman. Great job! But gahh! I wish the purple on that Goblin was a little darker and I don't like the scalemail texture on his arms and legs. That's not the customizer's doing, though. Heads look great!
  16. Strong disagree with most of the responses to these head sculpts. I love the stylized '70s hair on these anniversary Hulk, Cap, and Iron Man figures, plus the Walmart Doctor Strange. They're so much better and more interesting than the heads we've gotten from recent figures like Sue and Johnny Storm, even Peter Parker. I want this sculptor to redo their heads, along with Nightcrawler, Mar-Vell, Quicksilver, and Namor.
  17. Very cool lists from both of you. Some of the characters you mention I see as too big for BAF and would require the deluxe treatment. And I'm still hoping that Shuma-Gorath is the next HasLab. 😁 As for my list, it includes a lot of Fantastic Four villains: Annihilus -- the first of many Fantastic Four villains I want who are big enough and/or complicated enough to be build-a-figures. Between the unique physiology and the wings, I have a hard time believing Annihilus could be released as a single carded figure. Ronan the Accuser -- I want him to be nearly as broad as he is tall, like how he was drawn in the comics. He should scale similarly to the Marvel Legends Thing. Terrax the Tamer -- Gonna need another Herald of Galactus before the big guy shows up. And Terrax also fought the New Warriors, so... Dragon Man -- Pretty obvious, just make sure he includes a pair of bifocals. Awesome Android -- definitely belongs in whatever wave includes the Mad Thinker. Blastaar -- The Living Bomb Burst! Nuff Said!!! Titanium Man -- the Select version looks so damn good; just do the same thing as a Legends BAF and it's perfect... mmm, maybe take another swing at the "face"... Volstagg the Voluminous -- the Lion of Asgard deserves the BAF treatment to adequately capture his most awesome and mighty girth. And naturally he should be in a wave that includes Fandral the Dashing and Hogun the Grim. Charlie 27 -- We need more classic Guardians of the Galaxy. Put him in a cosmic wave that includes Yondu and Starhawk Ch'od -- bring on the Starjammers!
  18. I had Maestro pre-ordered for the longest time, but cancelled at the last minute. Too disappointed they didn't change his legs at all. And if they had given him smoother legs painted to look like pants, those same legs could be used for a Hulk with the purple trunks, as well as the Pantheon Hulk in the brown costume from the early '90s. Three more Hulks and potentially so much more they could get out of just tweaking the lower half.
  19. The new Hulk head sculpts with the longish hair partially covering the ears reminds me of how Gene Colan drew the Hulk in the '70s magazine when he was inked by guys like Alfredo Alcala or Rudy Nebres.
  20. I agree, I really like this Sabretooth. The creative license with the fingerless gloves and socks doesn't bother me; those are fine. The head looks a little weird but I think you're right that it's the paint. it looks like they forgot a coat or a final wash to separate the teeth or something. I had zero interest in buying another Wolverine, but... My favorite Wolverine body so far is the first appearance figure that came with the Hulk. The only problem is I hate his whisker mask. This one looks lije it's almost the same color yellow. If they match well enough I could possibly buy this Wolvie just for the head and sell or trade off the body and BAF piece. Will depend on whether the yellows match or not.
  21. I mean, it's kind of funny when you line them all up...
