  1. How about theme-specific accessory packs? For instance, a Spider-Man accessory pack could have various web effects, pumpkin bombs with explosion effects, bend-e-wire Doc Ock tentacles, long-range Electro electricity attack effect, etc. There could be other packs specific to X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and Doctor Strange.
  2. Quite a few of the upgraded figures I hoped for we either got, or they're in the pipeline. Sadly, not nearly enough of the new figures I wanted.
  3. This wave will be hard to top. I'm getting five out of the six (sorry Armored Spidey). Is this the best Hobgoblin we could've gotten? No, but it's a perfectly fine placeholder for those of us who don't have another version of the character.
  4. Best Non-Fan Channel Exclusive: Invisible Woman Best 2-Pack: Infinity Saga Rescue and Captain Marvel Best Multi-Pack: Wolverine box set Best Fan Channel Single Figure: Hercules The last category was tough. Could've easily given it to Sandman or Tigra.
  5. Retro carded Sandman arrived yesterday. Happy to now have all of the original Sinister Six villains in my collection. Now I just need them to release the rumored Lizard, which hopefully is an entirely new mold from the BAF version.
  6. Presented my ideal Hawkeye wave a couple months ago. Hawkeye (classic) Mockingbird (classic) Black Widow (ugly fishnet costume from the 1960s) Swordsman Crossfire Ringleader Oddball BAF - Goliath (Clint Barton) Pictures of the characters included with my older post. This wave has 3-4 villains depending on how you view Swordsman; at least it goes 40% of the way to completing the Death-Throws team.
  7. Since the beginning of the month I've picked up or received Spider-Man 2099 Rage (clearance at GameStop) Tigra Invisible Woman modern (used to customize the head for retro Sue) Invisible Woman retro Mr. Fantastic retro Human Torch retro Thing retro Psycho-Man High Evolutionary Hercules Nova I got a shipping notice for retro Sandman. That might be the last figure I get this year unless the Pulse exclusive versions of Johnny and Sue and the S.H.I.E.L.D. trooper back ship earlier than expected.
  8. Best Accessory -- Cosmic Cube (Red Skull, Xemnu BAF wave) Best Package -- Firestar Best Wave -- Fantastic Four retro Best Build-a-Figure -- Stiltman Best Deluxe Figure -- M.O.D.O.K.
  9. They could do it. Q1 - Baron Zemo Q2 - Baron Mordo Q3 - Baron Blood Q4 - Baron Von Strucker
  10. There is the Spider-Man retro card wave with the new black suit Spidey, Hobgoblin, etc. Are you just asking about BAF waves?
  11. Got a message that the Pulse exclusive powered-down Johnny Storm will ship in December. No news about the Pulse transparent Sue.
  12. We know that next year Baron Zemo will be available as a Walgreens exclusive in packaging that looks a whole lot like the Bring On the Bad Guys wave. Do we know if that's just a one-off, or if villains will be the theme for Walgreens figures in 2022?
  13. Same situation. Would've preferred shipping it to the store two minutes away and save some of the cost, but whatever. Glad they finally put him up on the website. Big thanks to @JayC for the heads up. Hopefully the trend will continue with Quasar and Baron Zemo.
  14. I think either of the Emma Frost heads would look fine with this retro hair. Same with the retro card Gwen Stacy. Other figures, like Black Widows, etc. might look good too, but the eyebrows might throw it off, and they also might have more severe looks that clash with the Sue Storm vibe.
  15. As a Fantastic Four fan, it kills me that the best figure in the retro FF wave is... Psycho Man?!! But it absolutely is a great figure. I took him out of the box last night and just stared at him for a while. Even with some limited articulation, he's sweet. You can tell they put all the budget into this guy, which is why the heroes are all mostly repaints. Possibly a Top 10 figure of the year.
  16. Won't argue with that. I'm not getting Shriek, but I am curious to see how much better the new female mold is.
  17. Good advice. I was concerned about the hot water causing some discoloration, but figured it would be safe enough since I tried it once before when I fixed the arms on the Alex Ross Iron Man. If I ever need to employ a trick like this again, I'll keep the sandwich bag method in mind. Thanks.
  18. I'm not a customizer usually because I lack the manual dexterity and artistic ability to be good at it, but this process is comparatively easy. Pop the heads off and put them in hot water. The hot water helps to break down the glue holding the hair piece onto the head and also makes the hair a bit more pliable and flexible. Then it's just bending, pulling, and prying with some small tools. I used a a paperclip and child's safety scissors because I didn't want to slip and scrape the face or anything. The new retro Sue's hair came off pretty easily. Took about five minutes of prying after a second dip in the hot water. The modern Sue's hair was fixed much tighter and took about 20 minutes to pry off. I'm sure there are people who do this sort of customization often who are much better at it than me. When I was finished, this is what the heads looked like. Again, people more sjilled and/or patient than me could probably get the hair off without leaving any of the glue residue, but for my purposes it was fine. And actually, the retro Sue's hair fit pretty snuggly on the modern Sue's head. I didn't glue it back on for any of the pictures I took, but later on last night I did use some simple Gorilla glue to hold the hair in place now. If this was the sort of custom job you wanted to try, the whole process took about 30 minutes and didn't require any specialty tools you wouldn't have around your home.
  19. As you can see, I used the Super-Skrull BAF version for the far more attractive head sculpt, removed the hair from both that and the retro card version, and slapped the retro hair onto the better head. You telling me I had to spend an extra $22 for something Hasbro should've done themselves?!!
  20. Just pre-ordered Doctor Strange. Now, for the sake of my mental health, I think I need to take a break from these forums for a long time.
  21. Black Widow came with two pair of extra interchangeable hands two pistols two hook tools/weaposn two widow sting SFX two bullet contact SFX for stand one three-bullet contact SFX for stand one small explosion SFX for stand one big explosion SFX for stand one display stand Captain America comes with two pair of extra interchangeable hands one extra unmasked head one mask/collar one shield one hard-contact SFX for the shield one energy SFX for the shield three bullet contact SFX for the shield one display stand with background diorama Yes, Black Widow had a few more SFX pieces, but if you want to split hairs, most of her accessories were designed to port with her transparent display base and don't interact with the actual figure, so they could be transported to any figure. Captain America's accessories, on the other hand, interact specifically with his figure and main accessory (the shield). All told, they come with almost the same number of extra bits and pieces (this Cap comes with more than War Machine), and yes Cap is "less for more" but the prices have gone up across the board. That's the game. Don't say there's nothing deluxe about him when that's exactly what he is based on the number of extra accessories and the diorama.
  22. This is a deluxe figure, just like Archangel, War Machine, the brown jacket Black Widow, etc. Cap's got the same number of accessories as War Machine came with, plus the display background and stand. Think of him just like those figures that cost $29.99 before this year's price increase.
  23. A+ figure. Exactly what I want from Captain America. I'm going to toss the 80th anniversary version in a wood chipper.
