I'd have liked to see a Walmart exclusive for Legends go up for Collector Con but honestly I'm glad that I don't have to stress about whether I'll actually get something I want. I had kind of hoped Hasbro would have some kind of reveal to celebrate the Loki s2 premiere though, like maybe a single carded Hunter B-15 or a 2-pack with Tesseract Loki and Sylvie without her crown. Maybe we'll see something along those lines for 1027.

Until Walmart stops shipping collector con items in bubble mailers I will always be happy there is not a Legends exclusive.

I don't think Hasbro nailed that look, first of all Daredevil's arms are awfully skinny, it easily apparent when you compare him to previous figures, which makes his arms look spindly and toyish, second issue is the sculpt of the pants and knee artiuclation which is probabaly the worst element of the figures, I think Elektra figure had much better implementation of arituclated baggy pants than DD figure, Elektra is even closer to original DD sketch where pants have far more dynamic look while figure sculpt is pretty static and flat.

His arms maybe be slightly skinny but I don't think it's that bad compared to this image. Never read the comic run so idk how he was drawn for the bulk of the run.

Love how this initially was sooo expensive and exclusive to Pulse, now it's everywhere and on sale, the Single packed Longshot and Mojo really shot this in the foot, bad timing on Hasbro's part to have this pack come out and right on it's heels Longshot and Mojo, don't think people were willing to fork over the extra dough for a fancy box, a sorta updated but not much Dazzler (seeing as how retro carded Dazzler was on sale pegwarming hard) and a baby Wolverine statue. 🤷‍♂️

It was really weird because that single release Mojo wasn't just available for preorder at the same time but physically available.

I don't think window-packaging will boost sales in any sense, I think it will restore some consumer confidence in the brand by allowing  buyers to see what the contents really are.  Blind-box fraud is showing up more and more now in anecdotal evidence from collectors, which is slightly behind the expected curve.
On the other hand, if sculpts and paint still remain spotty on figures, window-packages might cool excitement for upcoming figures.

You don't think it'll boost sales a little? I think it might just because of the MOC collectors. But maybe it won't.

A number of companies have done the Universal Studios monsters in B&W after doing the color versions, so its not unheard of. IF hasbo ever did monsters, I would expect the color versions first and then maybe B&W if there's a demand.

I also wonder if Hasbro wants to see how well the return of the window packaging helps boosts sales. I feel if sales bounce back Hasbro will probably start releasing even more figures, which would then increase the chance of WBN figures being made.

Yeah def weird, that's why this figure looks so specific to the Cartoon jt's based off, she never had a Mohawk in this look in the comics (or am I wrong?since I don't recall it), it's a good figure for what it is, the face is a bit odd, looking kinda chubby cheeked, but sure it's doing what it's doing, but with all the storms in her White Jim Lee suit available this is the least enthralling, but I bet that VHS head would look nice on this figure, the sculpted belt is cool.

I don't recall her having the mohawk with this outfit in the comics either. Maybe after watching the show I'll get used to it, it just throws me off for right now.

Ok, so I got the "pre-order processing soon" email from BBTS on this X-Men '97 wave a couple of days ago - so it's decision time. Admittedly I placed the pre-orders as a placeholder until I decided for sure whether I wanted them. I'm still somewhat torn. I really only like to keep one version of a character so I really only want to buy if I think they're better than anything else that I've already got. I generally dislike animated figures as a rule, but am finding the pinless molds on these all very tempting.

I'm to the point where I think that I've convinced myself "yes!" on Bishop, Magneto and Wolverine. I'm most of the way there on Rogue but the face sculpt is a little more cartoonish than I like. Storm I'm 50/50 on right now (maybe just for the head sculpt) and I'm leaning towards "no" on Gambit because the face sculpt and colors on him are just a little too cartoonish.

For Wolvie, I'd be replacing the Apocalypse wave version. For Mags, I'd be replacing the Family Matters 3-pack. For Bishop, I'd be replacing the Sauron wave version. For Rogue, I currently have both the Juggernaut wave and retro carded versions and would likely be looking replace both of those. For Storm I'd be potentially replacing the black suit retro card version. For Gambit I currently have both the retro carded version and what I believe was a Wendigo or Sasquatch wave version (not sure which).

This is a wave where I'd probably be perfectly content to just pass on all of them and save the $$$ because I have versions of all 6 characters that I'm already pleased with, but could also see myself later wishing I had all of them also!

I'd love to read what others are thinking on these figures right now.

Thursday Update: These all shipped today before I cancelled any so I guess that I'm keeping them all now! 😄

My feeling is that these figures will eventually be seen at discounted prices. I think one of main reasons is due to the show being pushed back because of the writers strike. When the show finally is released early next year, and if it's a hit, then collectors may start wanting these more.

Like Wolverine this is one of the figures from this wave that can be slipped into a comic display pretty nicely, it's a good looking Magneto, not much bad to say about it, I don't think I need to replace my Family Matters pack verison with this one, but for the people who didn't get that pack, this is going to be their Magneto, one thing though is why red gloves? he's always had Purple, the eye shading around the eyes is a bit overkill as well, but likely easy to overlook for many,

I had seen a post about the eye shadow comparing an image of it too Grumpy Cat. Ever since then I can't unsee it when I look at this figure 😂

So far the only exclusives that Wally World has messed up for me was the Symbiote Cap and StarLord. I ordered 2 Caps but they shipped one and canceled the other. Then like most others I never got StarLord.... all others have been easy. I'd estimate 6 successful with those 2 failures.  Though my winning record may be more dumb luck than them getting their $#!+ together.

Though I agree about the bubble mailer. Ridiculous that any retailer would ship any collectable in those let alone exclusives. I've had hit or miss with the mailers too. About half and half. Go figure these odds: I ordered 2 Bucky Caps that came in a box. 1 was fine, the other crushed. Fixit shows up in a mailer and is in mint condition. The hell?!?

My bigger gripe is more the bubble mailer thing over the availability issue. I think it was Lizard a couple years ago that the card back was bent to hell. Last year I ordered two cel shaded Spideys thinking it would be in a box but nope, Walmart jammed both of them into a bubble mailer. Both cards got a little dinged up, that was the one figure I really wanted to keep MOC.

Yeah he does it, it works out fairly well, he says the skintones don't match exactly, also the comic head leans forward a bit, that seems to be the issues, but doesn't look all that bad, the cartoon head on the comic body is a bit small, so there is that as well.

So I wonder if Hasbro will resculpt a new comic head and rerelease it on this new body. If they do hopefully the paint apps are more in line with the original release and not with this '97 one.

Its not a PERFECT fit....it does look a bit small on the male body, but it works if you want. I hope all future helmets of this type have that "glass" type and colors like amber would be nice too. They really should have this set at a lower price because I'd definitely get more.

I agree, Hasbro should definitely use the translucent plastic for all face shields, goggles, glasses, etc.
