  1. My issue is that I don't have the room for something that massive.  My entire office is plastered with wall to wall shelves with Marvel Legends and Black Series figures.  A few years ago I was in Toys R Us and they had that huge Tie-Fighter for $25 and I passed.  My wife is pretty laid back about all the stuff I get, but she would be pissed if I spent $500 on a toy and there is no way I could easily justify that kind of money on one item.  I would be open to vehicles like a Snow Speeder or Blackbird, but no way on a huge Daily Bugle or X-Men mansion.

  2. I have yet to find any of the 80th Anniversary figures stocked in the aisles in Target,  I received a tip from a buddy that found a Target that had them in the back and pulled them for him so I was able to pick up Thor, Ironman and Colossus and Juggs 2 pack.  I was very lucky to find the 80th Anniversary Captain America at Walmart last week.  The only other 80th Anniversary I have seen in the wild is Luis and Ghost 2 pack and the Grandmaster/Korg 2 pack.  I  ordered the Iron Spider/Ironman 2 pack from Target and received that.  I also have the Hulk/Wolverine 2 pack on order through Dorkside.  I am on the lookout for Scurge and Hela and the WWII Captain America rider set.  A Target rep said they weren’t putting anything out until Aug 18th, which seems like the plan with all my surrounding Targets doing the same thing.  I’ll be hitting multiple Targets on Aug 18th to see if I can pick up the last 2 80th Anniversary 2 packs that I am looking for.

  3. I would be highly disappointed if Hasbro lost the license.  Mattel’s distribution is beyond ridiculous.  There are entire waves that I have never seen in the wild from DC figures. I don’t own any McFarlane figures, but the YouTube reviews I have seen point to way less articulation than the ML, although they are improving.  Between Hasbro ML and Mattel Multiverse I absolutely feel like Hasbro provides a superior product.  I collect both ML and Black Series so my wallet would be happy.

Luckily, it seems like the 80th Cap might actually saturate. Maybe Walmart didn’t drop the ball for once.

Btw, I still haven’t opened that classic Cap w/ bike - too busy and too many new toys!

I am still on the lookout for that set in the wild, but I saw it on Walmart.com and am heavily considering pulling the trigger with all the YouTube reviews I have watched on it.

The last 24 to 36 hours in my search for the 80th Anniversary Captain America has taken me on a roller coaster ride.  First, I really dislike trying to shop for action figures at Walmart.  The aisle for action figures is usually barren in my area, mostly empty pegs, disorganized and what figures you find are considerable old.  That’s why I was happy to have a glimmer of hope that Target was going to also sell the figure. Access to Target stores is more convenient due to their proximity and number.  But I decided to chance a Walmart that was showing CA in stock by the Brickseek site.   The figure comes in a box of six and of course when I get there none had been put out.  Strike one.   I go home and later that evening while checking a Walmart link, it tells me that 5 are in stock at a certain store.  When I see 5, I think they must be out on display.  I decide that before I go to work, I’ll hit this Walmart.  Monday morning I’m a man with a plan and a full tank of gas.  I hit the store and…. OF COURSE, IT’S NOT ON DISPLAY.  Strike 2.  I get home from work very late into the evening and tap the Walmart like I had previously, and it states that the Walmart that I went to earlier in the day has 1 left to order for pickup!  Faster than you can say Steve Rogers, I’m tapping those keys and secure the last one.

But the story doesn’t end just quite yet.  After viewing my order email, I went back to the Walmart site and it now populated that their closest store to me had 5 IN STOCK.  Now this is where the crazy starts to take over.  The store opens at 7AM, I’M off, you know where this is headed.  I take off for the store and get there at 7:30AM.   The place is relatively empty.   I go down the aisle and find CRICKETS!!!!!!!!  Again, a section that looks like swiss cheese.  I stand there, motionless.  I pace back and forth as if somehow the figure is going to materialize.  Another customer sees me and reads my body language and asks me if there was something that I was looking for.  I tell him and he says that this figure that will complete my 70’s Avengers collection is on the pallet in front of the aisle.   WHAT!!!!!!!!!  Sure enough the box was there and one had been taken out.  There was an employee assisting the customer (who pointed me in the right direction) who was looking for a DC figure.  Once the employee finished with the customer, she passed me the red, white and blue hero I was anxiously waiting for.  Still no follow up email on when I can pickup the other CA, so for once being crazy worked out.

I had a similar situation with finding my local Walmarts had them in stock, but none of the associates are eager to help and the common answer they all have is if you can’t find it on the shelf we don’t have it even though the app shows it in stock.  After checking with 3 associates at the same store my hate for Walmart grows.  I wish GameStop had this Cap since I would gladly pay extra at GameStop so I don’t have to give Walmart any $.  Congratulations on finding him!

Looked up the 80th anniversary cap on the Walmart app and saw it in stock at a couple stores. It allowed me to purchase it for store pickup to reserve him. Hopefully he's there when I go to get him. Just throwing this out there in hopes that it helps some of my fellow collector's out!

I did a search on the Walmart app and he didn’t come up.  I even copy and pasted exactly what I did for brickseeker and nothing comes up on the app.

No I haven’t, though I will soon. I actually preferred this set over the MCU one, and doubt I’ll get the other unless I find it cheap. I’ve always been a sucker for Cap in his WWII BDU.

I am really hoping to see this in the wild soon.  I might try and swing by a Barnes and Noble this weekend in hopes of seeing it so I can make up my mind.  I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this set once you crack it open.

Have you opened the set?  I’ve ordered most of the 80th Anniversary Legends online, but held off on this one.  I want to see it in person before deciding if it is a must have.  I’m really torn because I love the bike, but not crazy about the figure.  I would have pulled the trigger had it been the Captain America from the Amazon 2 pack with Peggy Carter.  I’ve seen pics with the head swap and this Captain America has a long neck which doesn’t look good with the Chris Evans head even though I understand this set is not from the MCU.

  9. Picked up the iron Spider/Ironman 2 pack I ordered Saturday night.  I checked 2 Targets and still no sign of the 80th Anniversary Legends.  The second Target I went to even had their reset finished.  The Target I always go to has a ton of these in stock according to the reps, but they say all the cases are on a pallet buried amongst other toys on the top rack.  I feel like buying a red shirt and make my way to the stock room, lol.

  10. I went by Target again today and saw the rep from Sat that told me all the 80th Anniversary Legends were street dated for Sunday.  I went by twice yesterday and nothing was out and no sign of a reset.  I stopped by Target again today and saw the rep from Sat so I asked him about the Legends and  asked for the DCPI’s which I had so he went in the back and came back a few minutes later and said they had them all, but the are still on the pallet on the top rack so he couldn’t pull them down and just told me to keep stopping by this week.  I stopped by another Target today and no signs of them south of Denver.

@mars396 Here is something you could try.  I pre-ordered my Love Triangle 3 pack online, but if you want to just hunt at brick and mortar, try asking your local Gamestop if they can put it on pre-order for you.  I've never done this with Legends, only Funko Pops, but they usually only want you to put $5 down on a pre-order and then you can pick it up at that store when it's in.

For Storm also try asking Gamestop if they can get one in for you.  I did that for the NECA 90s movie TMNT and those were really hard to come by in my area.  Just a thought, hope it helps.

I stopped by Gamestop today and talked to one of the reps that always helps me find Legends and Black Series and she couldn’t order it either, but did say they were getting another shipment of the Retro wave on Aug 29th.  The app shows Storm available on Jul 27th so I’ll be checking the app like crazy Sunday and stopping by every GameStop in Colorado until I find her, lol.

I think its a Target exclusive and in my experience most of those get pretty well-stocked and aren't too rough to find if you are willing to pay full price... i think Gamorrean Guard was the only one i didn't see at least 4-5 of in the store... but he was extremely popular and many people wanted 2.

I tried to wait for the Gamorrean Guard to go on sale, but they disappeared quickly so I missed out.  I’m definitely picking up the Iron Spider/Iron Man set when I see it.

80th Cap is a Walmart Exclusive.

the Peggy Carter set is an Amazon exclusive

the iron spider/iron man set is rumored to be target exclusive.

benn mentioned the hulk set; I believe the rest could be sold at any store.

altho since the 10th anniv sets didn’t seem to sell all that well I do wonder if stores will order fewer of these sets

That worries me as well since Walmart had the 10th anniversary figures for so long.  The Iron Spider/Iron Man set is my top one that I am interested in, but I would like to see as many as I can in person before pulling the trigger.

It says it wouldn't ship until 8/1/19, but date may change. The whole wave is starting to show up in stores so I was wondering if I should order this if it would arrive soon.

I found Mysterio at Target yesterday.  I like him, but he is a bit small and his helmet seems a little too small as well.  He does size fairly close to Scorpion in this wave.  Check for the Spider-Man Far from Home end cap at Target, you might get lucky and save on shipping costs.
