  1. That’s pretty exciting.  As a kid, the Disney store in my local mall was one of my favorite destinations.  Was really sad when it closed down.  Traumatized even, as they left all of the statues and characters up after closing the store so you could just see a Goofy in the darkness collecting dust and looking like something out of a Nightmare

So, DC "blows Marvel away" because they make adult oriented animated movies . . . about characters that were never meant to be "Adult Oriented?" There was a sick old guy back in the 70s who used to show up at my elementary school and show kids "Adult Oriented" pictures of Mickey Mouse at recess. Did HE blow Disney away? Judging by some of DCs recent animated movies, I think the same guy may work there now. At the very least, they probably share similar interests.

    Damn

  3. Interesting that it’s LF.  I’m a big fan, just don’t see what it does for marvel.  Like, I can totally see Kevin Smith doing great at a MOTU anime, but Fishburne doesn’t seem to fit in entirely natural here.  It kinda feels like Hollywood’s way of doing things is to just attach a celebrities name to the product regardless of if they fit in properly.  It’s like with the new lady and the tramp movie.  Tessa Thompson is the voice actor for Lady.  She’ll be fine, I’m sure, but why not hire a lesser known voice actress who could potentially be better?

Spidey is the most profitable character in marvel  with one of the biggest fan. Do you think disney cares if they promote a movie that not theirs when they get all the merch profits?

Right.  Plus, Disney really only had a problem with the Fox stuff at the time.  They still made plenty of product from the amazing Spider-Man movies.  I’m still perplexed why they didn’t do stuff from Venom and into the Spider-Verse to a larger extent

What is it about that version that you didn't like or want changed?

What about those versions don't you like? Body mold? Paint? Accessories

The headsculpt is aggressively bad. No resemblance to the actor.  I know Hasbro has the problem of having to base their works off of concept art and promotional material, but even so, the headsculpt looks nothing like even those images and materials

I had ordered this 1/12 scale plastic brick assortment from an Ebay seller named gpslot, very affordable prices & the great thing is you can take it all apart & redo another dio. This took me like 6hrs today to do. Think it came out pretty good & makes for a good dio background to take pics of your ML figures instead of using a PC as your background.

Pretty neat, I’ll have to look into it

For figure of the year, gotta go with  Hulk altho i suppose i could yet change my mind, and its a bit unfair since he is pricier than typical MLs.  However, he's a very tough figure to put down and even when i intend to take pics of other figs, he often smashes his way into the photoshoot somehow.

Last year, Thing was my favorite.

As far as '18 vs '19, very tough call.   Let's break it down:

BAFs:  Winner -  '18.  Sauron, Monster Venom, Apocalypse, Lizard, Sasquatch, even Cull Obsidian all great BAFs. This year's only real standout imo is Kingpin (altho i think Prof Hulk and Wendigo both look good)

X-waves:  Winner -  '19  I think caliban, wendigo and retro wave beat out last year.  Apoc wave was outstanding but just too much Deadpool in the other waves. Although if you are a Deadpool fan you would probably give '18 the edge over '19

Spider-waves: Winner - '18 . The Kingpin wave and Molten Man wave both came across as a bit lackluster and i only ended up grabbing 2 figs from each wave. Not entirely fair since last year had the venom wave, too.

MCU waves: Winner -  '19.  .  I think IW wave 2 beats Endgame wave 2 and BP wave 1 beats FFH wave, but Endgame wave 1 edges out IW wave 1  plus you have BP wave 2 and Endgame wave 3. Close call though.

Walgreen Exclusives:  Winner '18:  Ben, Surfer and Reed top WG's offerings this year.

Vintage:  Winner - '19:   While VW 2 was great, i prefer the packaging for this year's x-wave and the Hulk retro figs puts this year on top.

Anniversary line - '19:  While the 10th anniversary line was amazing, the classic comic figs in the 80th line give it the victory. Both had great mcu figures.

So overall, i would say imo 2019 is the better year altho 2018 was the best year for MLs up to that point.   However, i think people more attached to Spider-man, Deadpool, or the FF could argue that 18 is better than 19.

I think I agree with everything.  MCU is kinda a toss up.  I could go either way.  But I’m more in it for the comics these days
