  1. So...surpass 2022 Q1 earnings projections by miles and then make the decisions to cut packaging costs and increase figure costs by 30% all while suffering from global supply chain issues.  Finally, lay off a huge portion of your workforce because your ridiculous business plan didn't work during a recession.  The people that need to be laid off are those who made these decisions.

Man that's rough. I had the original Iron Man figure and the leg broke off. The replacement did too.

Never got into the zombie-super powered stuff though. I get the concept, but it just doesn't work for me; even if a zombie somehow got to Stark before he was fully armored up, he'd be dead and brainless, therefore the armor would be irrelevant.

    Oh well....

lol @ people trying to rationalize zombie behavior while talking about a universe full of people with super powers...

This last tier is not gonna do any good, we coming dangerously close the the deadline and this Ghost Rider Haslab project is doomed to fail, and I blame all the turncoats who bailed on this thing.

    Turncoat here.  You're welcome.

I pay $844.93 for the Haslab Sentinel and I didn't even back it, and believe you me it was worth every penny of that money, and I'm more than willing the pay money in the tripple digits for the Haslab Galactus. So please don't tell me that these figure are not worth it, I just want Mephisto, nothing more, nothing less.

If you want to over-pay for your plastic, that's your decision.  But don't shame other people for not wanting to do the same.  For the amount that you're (allegedly) willing to pay, you could probably have someone custom the thing for you and at better qualify than what you'd get from the Haslab.

  4. If I was Hasbro, I honestly wouldn't want to take this thing out in public anywhere, Con or not.  It can't possibly be better represented in person, where people can see for themselves that it's just a plastic car and even less impressive than the images shown online.  No matter if this project funds or not, the consumer has definitely spoken.  And, while I'd like to think we've "been heard", their latest projection of a 50% revenue increase over three years is very disturbing.  That sort of benchmark for a toy company is incredibly hard to achieve in such a short period of time and can only mean more price increases.  It's also troubling that they're reaching $500 million of that with layoffs when QC issues continue to persist and we seem to be receiving less and less accessories with each new wave release.

I don't want Hasbro to fail but I think it'd be a good thing for them take a step back and gain some perspective here.  And the only way that's going to happen is with missed projections (by a considerable amount).  Unfortunately, it will take a while for the market to react.  And for retailers to realize it's not in their best interest to keep stocking $28 figures that almost inevitably end up needing to be reduced by 30% before people buy them.  This is not an oil shortage situation, this is not a "we can't sell to Russia right now" thing, it's simply price gouging.

  5. I learned my Deluxe Figure lesson with MODOK by paying the full price and then watching it drop to $30 over the next few months.  Every other deluxe figure has seen similar action since then.  When it hits $30, I'll pick it up.  Or even a little less.

Hasbro seems to think that "inflation" means everyone has a bunch of additional, disposable income.  We don't.  And the demand isn't enough to justify these 40% price hikes over 1 year.

Well it seems to be working. the numbers are going up. Slowly yes but up none the less.

I swear, if this dinky little head is all it took to convince people to buy this thing I am at a loss for words.  It's too little, too late and still costs too much.

Really don't want to set a precedent here for them to think giving us (a piece of) what should be part of the base product is enough to justify the cost.  And you know this will all be spun as "You spoke and we listened" bullshiz PR.

Great points and very well executed. The only thing I would say is that this is a comic book character. Children have been exposed to him for decades. Children were exposed to him in times that were much more intolerant and yet the character was never removed or changed to look less like a demon because it wasn’t seen as necessary. He is an imaginary character that looks evil because he is a villain

I don't know, intolerance seems to be making a comeback these days.  You used to be able to have swear words in PG movies and some nudity in PG-13.  And, with all of the controversies, both racial and political of late, it's almost becoming a crime to even think independently.  But I digress...the same people who would have complained about this 30 years ago and claimed that video games were training devices for serial killers are the same people who would complain about it now.  And there are a lot of them.  And a lot of them buy Disney toys.  The only difference is that the Disney brand is enormous and all-encompassing now.  So they have to pick their battles when it comes to this sort of thing and releasing Satan in plastic form probably isn't one worth fighting for them.

Because he was still an unlockable that has seen a release outside of haslab. Not arguing the fact that people will stop backing these projects but the true exclusive product is the base project itself. The idea that a tier character should never be made again seems like a set up for disappointment, especially ones who are popular characters that can have different costumes or what not, like Mephisto here (who I’d very much hope to see in his classic look) or the hiss tank’s Cobra Commander, whose fans expect to see again. Makes more sense for obscure characters to fill those tier slots if they want folks to expect them to never be made again.

He was an unlockable that was seen outside of Haslab *before* the project and tier was announced.  It's a very important distinction.  It's your opinion that the unlockables should be the only exclusive part of the project but I think you'll find it's a very unpopular one.  Many people would not back these without the tier rewards and exclusivity of said rewards.  If they want to put create some cartoony comic version of Mephisto that looks nothing like the Haslab version, I wouldn't care much about that.  But if they're going to paint him a different shade of red and throw in some "clothes", that would definitely discourage me from backing a future project.

For the record, I backed the HISS tank and in large part because of that final 'classic' Cobra Commander. And the fact that it couldn't be obtained any other way.  I didn't see anyone on the Classified Reddit subs or discord saying they expect to see it again.  On the contrary, every one of us who backed the HISS do *not* want or expect to see him released in that sculpt again.

As I said before, exclusivity is what inspires people to back these products.  No tiers in a funded Haslab have seen a rerelease in any form so I don't see why they would suddenly start now.  This is just rhetoric that I've heard from non-backers on previous projects.

True, but that's assuming they re-release a redeco/repaint of a figure that was previously done as an exclusive. I was talking in the sense that the project doesn't get funded. If the project never gets fully funded then the figures will never have been released and to release those characters under another format would have no effect on the exclusivity of a figure that was never done in the first place.

I too would be angry if i purchased a figure that was lauded as an exclusive only seen it done in a different shade, or even worse, with better accessories, at a later time. It is a common practice that many companies do. I wouldn't put it passed Hasbro.

Ah, yeah if it doesn't get funded (it will but for hypothetical...) I don't see why it couldn't be released.  Hasbro has actually been very good about keeping funded Haslab figures out of the rerelease.  Two years and no Bastian or Female Prime, not that they would be 'hot' releases or anything.  If they were to release any of the heralds that come with Galactus, I'd be out.  I think a general Mephisto release will be tripped up by whatever has been keeping him at bay for the past decade.  Whether it's for religious/image reasons, as some would have you believe, or other reasons.  There has to be a good reason he hasn't been put out there until this; people have been asking for him for ages now.

I too believe Hasbro when they say these two figures, and possibly others will not go into production if the project doesn't fund. The thing with Hasbro is they like to use word play and nuance just as much as any other company. While I can see the Civi Robbie never seeing the light of day, because he is just an alternate deco of the same mold they'll use for GR, I can see the head sculpt being included as a pack in somewhere in a future Ghost Rider wave. Mephisto is another story. The picture shown is clearly just a computer mock up, there's been no proto or cast made thus far so to scrap it wouldn't be much of a loss. However I think if they think they can get enough interest in this figure they would produce it, with some minor paint or detail changes and make it different from this figure enough that the statement that THIS particular figure will never be done holds true, yet one that is really close to it can be. I just think it would be really foolish for Hasbro to leave that kind of money on the table. Like I said, this thing is almost tailor made to be a Fan Channel release. You know, one of those where they charge like five extra dollars for no BAF part and a pretty decorative card back?

Let's not forget GR will be coming to the MCU, and there are going to be GR waves eventually and these characters are part of a surprisingly small cast of characters that could qualify as legit candidates to be in a wave, assuming the wave(s) aren't full movie waves (which they could be) and they need some comic based figures to fill in some spots. To eliminate any characters that were slated for this Haslab Project altogether would shrink that limited cast even farther. Not really a good idea.

The moment they start re-releasing (or repainting or whatever) Haslab exclusive figures is the moment people stop backing them altogether.  I'd never buy any of these if I knew I could simply get a repaint a year later.  Most people wouldn't.  It's one of the most appealing elements of the projects; they actually offer a truly *exclusive* product.

Probably for the best as the current state of the MCU is a giant confusing mess.

Pretty much this.  It's like they had no idea what to do after Endgame but 50 vague concepts and just decided to act them all out and see what sticks.  And 2025 means we have another three years of this to set through and maybe/kinda/hopefully it all works out and comes together in the end.  But yeah, no structure, a million loose ends and creating even more by the month, movies and characters that *could* be part of a new team or Universe but no idea if or how they would fit in, the multiverse which just confuses things to the millionth power unless you've already read the comics for 50 years...it's hard to be hopeful at this point.  Now imagine the 'X' teams somehow being rebooted and integrated into all of this in some fashion and just head explode basically.

Between the re-releases and what appears to be years of 'updated' and recylced MCU figures and the ridiculous price hikes, my budget for Legends is about 10% what it used to be.  I've switched over to some other brands and the GI Joe Classified series recently, which somehow continue to be cheaper and include more in the way of accessories than Legends.  And don't have to come in enclosed packaging.

Just to let people know tomorrow is the 20th and Dan said we may have something tomorrow as well. (Good thing it's payday)

Maybe it'll be a "Whoops!  We accidentally mispriced the Mojo "4" pack and it should actually only be $100!"

    More likely though:

"Whoops!  We accidentally mispriced the Mojo "4" pack and it should actually be $150!"

So let me get this straight. If I want a 1/18 sentinel hasbro wants $24.99 plus tax plus shipping. So this is a basic style figure with 5 point articulation that stands around 7 inches tall. And they want the same amount of money as a collector level marvel legend that is the same height and has far superior design and articulation.  This doesn’t seem to make sense to me.

Wowzers that Mojo Box Set Sheesh, I'm really bummed out Hasbro hates Canada, I wish they would open a Canadian Pulse so we don't have to get embezzled every time we order from Pulse here in Canada, this set cost me after taxes 181 USD, shipping was 30 bucks, Please Hasbro next announcement give us a Hasbro Pulse Canada, I can't afford yer exclusives, either way pre-ordered Mojo set, because of FOMO, and also got shocked when I pre-ordered The 3.75 Sentinel which in Canada is 32.99, eeek.

I don't think FOMO is going to be an issue here.  On every board I've checked, people think the price is ridiculous.  And, historically, 'deluxe' figures and sets have gone down instead of up.  You can still get a MODOK for $35 ffs.  It's a Pulse exclusive, so I suppose it will (eventually) sell out.  Maybe.  But I would bet dollars to donuts they're not going to waste that sculpt on an exclusive and not try to sell it independently for $80.  People have been asking for Mojo for a long time.  This is just crapping on your customers.
