    Con exclusives have never been crazy in their prices, if you were able to get them at the Con (online after a con is a totally different story). It will be interesting to see how this is priced. I am guessing around $85.

    The entire line has seen a 25% price increase in less than a year (with another to come) and the Kull/Venom was $80.  This is a Modok-sized figure and two standard figures.  There's no way this is going for less than $100 and most likely more, if I had to guess.  Mojo is huge.

    Kind of have to forget about what was "done before".  They've changed everything from price to packaging in this line recently.

    Is it worth it from Hasbro's perspective to raise costs but have fewer products being purchased when possibly the same amount of sales could have been gathered from more people buying more product at lower costs?

    Generally no.  You will always make more on higher volume/higher sales.  This is kind of weird territory when it comes to collectibles because the actual value of a product is determined exclusively by us, the consumer.  Hasbro has had years to establish metrics for manufacturing so I'm curious if they're just going to assume that retail will simply go with 'standard' quantities at the higher prices.  Unfortunately, even if there is some sort of mass exodus when it comes to ML sales, Hasbro wouldn't really know about it or be able to adjust to it until months later; major retailers order, aren't able to sell, adjust order quantities accordingly over time until finally Hasbro sees their profit margins diminish and they're stuck with huge amounts of unwanted inventory.

    That's a big reason why this move seems to ridiculous to me, especially considering the price hikes we've already seen.  It's a leap of faith based exclusively on brand loyalty and, what, a year's worth of incremental price increases?  Seems like way too small a sample size to be make this sort of decision.  Almost all recently released waves are selling below MSRP and are readily available anywhere.  That should already be giving them pause before they try to screw over their retailers even more.

  3. I hate to say it but I'm also done.  I have over 200 of these things anyway and not enough shelf space to hold them all.  But what was a fun and relatively cheap hobby now shows signs of doubling in cost within a single year.  I'm not buying the "cost of shipping/raw materials" affecting prices this much.  And, the problem with that argument is that they won't go back on this precedent when the manufacturing costs go back to "normal".  You'll never see a "Hey, things are better now, so we're reducing prices!" announcement.

    I really do hope they rethink this.  It's the people like us that keep this otherwise dead industry alive (action figures in general).  And it will most certainly be noticed when people who regularly buy entire waves suddenly stop because they can't justify a $200 purchase.

    Hasbro's shares rose 3.1% to $86.16 in morning trade.

    The company lifted its fiscal 2022 operating profit growth forecast to mid-single digits from its earlier estimate of a low-single-digit rise.

    Manufacturing cost my ass.  News of a price hike followed by 3% stock growth and a big jump in operating profit growth?  wtf

    Ok, so… hear me out. I know I’m probably wrong, but some names just made sense to me.

    Clover= Green, She Hulk.
    Bow=Barton? Wasn’t it a 2-pack with…
    Arrow= Bishop?
    Jersey= Ms Marvel is the one that makes most sense here.
    Mumbai, Madrid, and Anchorage are all in the air, but my guesses are Moon Knight, Kingpin, and Echo. With Abomination as a BAF.

    Why would a Hawkeye themed set feature She Hulk, Ms Marvel or really any of the others you listed?  Kingpin is a deluxe sized figure twice-released now.  Bishop has absolutely nothing to do with arrows.   I would try again.

  5. None?  Mephisto has been requested for years.   No one wants to see him looking silly, happy, etc.  I've seen a lot of custom figures and these are all kind of 'bad'.  😞

    EDIT:  Also, everyone (including Hasbro, etc.) should be following the 2/3 rule;  If the characters is brooding versus happy, etc. in the comics, the default expression should match that.  Imagine a smiling Galactus...

    I will wait for the Black Friday sale. 63 CDN is not worth it. Especially when this is a repaint with new accessories and Kro is also a deluxe, but with entirely new sculpt and cost significantly less.

    I've learned never to gamble against anything Spider-man when it comes to these toys.  They almost all end up being sold out and twice as expensive in the after-market.  And the entire wave for the original BAF is ridiculously expensive now.  Deluxe figures in general are made because of the high demand from people who couldn't complete the BAFs (see Kingpin and Monster Venom for example).  Don't wait on this one.

    Kro has already been on sale several times for $20.  It doesn't matter if it's a new mold or not, the movie sucked and that entire wave will be half off soon.

    If/When your Target gets these they have been plentiful at the ones I’ve found him in. At least 6 at the 4 different Targets in Michigan. So save yourself the shipping charge as he seems to be easy to come by

    Shipping is free on orders of $35+.

    I managed to get him online during a random restock at like 1:00am.  Then out of stock again in 5 mins.  However plentiful they may be at retail locations, they won't be for long.  This is one of those BAFs that got real expensive, real fast both because of how many pieces were required, the base figure purchase and because it was a Spidey line, which always seem to inflate exponentially within months after release.

    I really hope they just do away with these Target and Walgreens/Walmart exclusives soon.  It never works out well for collectors and they're generally figures that many people have been asking for for a long time.  If they want to promote exclusives, at least make them characters that are only moderately in demand.

    Somewhere in the world, you know some spoiled rich kid owns one of these, has beat the hell out of it, and is complaining to daddy about the loose joints.  Thinks is a piece of crap toy.
