he only really said that because people were assuming we were getting a full wave of animated X-men (the chances of that are low, one or 2 at most), another Venom and about 50 other items. Like we said most of the 2 hour will just be interviews. The Interviewees will probably reveal a figure or 2 but the majority will be reveal most likely in the first hour.

I'm just hoping to see some more comic figures. Even if there are only a few reveals that are completely new, it would be nice to have more of those.

    You nailed it.

To repeat: just show the same kind of quality and attention to detail to the one "just wearing a bikini" as they did for the dude just wearing speedos.

Absolutely. Any and all figures should get the same level of detail and attention as any other figure.

The one wearing "speedos" has been a more prevalent character in the Marvel universe than werewoman in bikini ever has.

None of that matters. These are all products and each one should be approached with the highest quality and attention to detail. Just because Namor has been in more comics and had a more regarded legacy doesn't mean a figure of him should be dealt with any differently as it is product someone will purchase. And bottom line, somewhere out there is a person who loves Tigra and considers her their favorite character and that person deserves just as good a product as the fan of Namor or any A-list character.

  3. I don't really care for the design of this figure myself but if they did this color tones like the Monster Venom (Eddie version) and a proper head sculpt then they'd get my money for sure. I love this body mold and a proper blue/black with a more comic oriented head would be outstanding. Even if it's just shiny black I would still be all over a comic version on this buck.

I've been wanting this version of Herc since the classic "Siege of Avengers mansion" story arc.  We need redoes of the Wrecking crew, Mr Hyde, & Goliath to recreate this savage beatdown of the Lion of Olympus!

This was the first thing I thought of when he was first announced. And yes, we need an updated Wrecking Crew and a Mr. Hyde from this design. Goliath is a figure I really hope we see someday.

Idiotic ways. They took Salma Hayek's form and turned her into a preteen. This one, who's basically Patti Smith/ Chrissy Hynde with an eyepatch (and I got nothin against 80s Chrissy), they pump up. Makes. No. Sense.

I always thought Hynde or Joan Jett were likely inspirations for her design/characterization. I'm not sure what upper body they're reusing here but it just doesn't work not only because it doesn't fit the character but also, it looks like the top of some sort of bustier at the top while the bottom is a ripped t-shirt. What even is this?  Pair that with the fact they shoved her in a senseless box set despite the fan outcry for her and yet again Hasbro's decisions leave me scratching my head.

Some people speculate they were trying to go with a "T-1000" look, copying the iconic image of getting a hole shot in its head by Sarah Conner in T2. If that's true, then they missed one crucial point: the T-1000 is a robot that has no feelings, no emotion. It had no anger, no pain,  when she shot him, which made the scene even more chilling. Sandman is a vicious bully and definitely would express rage, even if he wasn't seriously in pain.

Exactly. I could definitely see that being the inspiration but it falls flat.

  7. I'm going to be my usual self and say this is a crap release. I'm sorry but the color looks like someone with a severe sunburn and in no way feels like someone covered in fur. The headsculpts look awful, especially the way they did her hair and her eyes look very slanted. Also, how hard would it have been to sculpt her top and bottom? I know it's probably cheaper to paint those on but as bare as she looks, they really needed to do something to break her line. Worst of all, is there's a female who needed more articulation, I don't know who it is. Hasbro has got to get the ladies reworked. The Power Rangers females have better range than this, can we not borrow from that? Come on guys.

Friend got his order today. And WOW did they do the silicone number on Callisto or what. I mean seriously, how idiotic is this....the one female figure who should be flat as a Scotch pancake, and they do this to her? At any rate, its still one really odd assortment...the only one I see here that's any worth is the Jason Wyngarde figure. For anyone who wasnt able to get Omega Red the first go 'round, this one's a repaint, but its great.

Wow...The one female character who benefits from the smaller bust mold and they chose this? Hasbro works in mysterious ways.

    Black Widow came with

    • two pair of extra interchangeable hands
    • two pistols
    • two hook tools/weaposn
    • two widow sting SFX
    • two bullet contact SFX for stand
    • one three-bullet contact SFX for stand
    • one small explosion SFX for stand
    • one big explosion SFX for stand
    • one display stand

    Captain America comes with

    • two pair of extra interchangeable hands
    • one extra unmasked head
    • one mask/collar
    • one shield
    • one hard-contact SFX for the shield
    • one energy SFX for the shield
    • three bullet contact SFX for the shield
    • one display stand with background diorama

Yes, Black Widow had a few more SFX pieces, but if you want to split hairs, most of her accessories were designed to port with her transparent display base and don't interact with the actual figure, so they could be transported to any figure. Captain America's accessories, on the other hand, interact specifically with his figure and main accessory (the shield). All told, they come with almost the same number of extra bits and pieces (this Cap comes with more than War Machine), and yes Cap is "less for more" but the prices have gone up across the board. That's the game. Don't say there's nothing deluxe about him when that's exactly what he is based on the number of extra accessories and the diorama.

I still say that base, at least the cardboard, is going to be part of the packaging. As for the nuts and bolts of who has more I still see it as more plastic overall with Widow and that's what drives the price home for me.

I think the point is the difference in "extras." We're essentially getting charged for a piece of cardboard and energy crackles no one wants.

    That's exactly my thinking.

I have long given up trying to figure these people out! I mean, compare what they did on Maverick, a really complicated ( and let's face it, not as well known character as others) figure, to Quicksilver, a fairly simple one. Maverick is straight outta comics correct.  Pick up the Quicksilver head, and you have no idea who that's supposed to be unless its on the body, and they even got that wrong, color wise. Why, why why why??

Haha! That's a really good point. Quicksilver is literally Namors head slapped on another body. And the retro Vision isn't much better than the Toybiz. How hard can it be. They're mad, absolutely mad.

If anyone remembers that $5 coupon survey from Hasbro, the 23$ msrp was planned. The whole point of that survey was “would you pay this much more if we did this or that?”

Of course the entire reason isnt solely inflation but wow I didn’t know there is a one-time-only inflation price, that’s amazing

The problem with that survey was the higher price tag was for Deluxe figures, not just standard releases, and it was $30. There is nothing deluxe here. Black Widow was a deluxe that was $30 at release and includes multiple hands, weapons, blast effects, a big explosion effect and a fricking plastic stand with a base. So not only are they giving us less but they're charging more.

On 10/5/2021 at 2:04 PM, Atlantis said:

Yes. As I said before the figure isn't pinless, in fact there's no improved articulation here at all. Alt head, hands, a few special effects, which has been about the standard load out now for Legends. What I see here is an added postcard. Great figure, but I'm not seeing the price hike justification.

I'm right with you. They haven't put any extra effort in here aside from the head sculpts and the postcard which I would almost bet money is somehow part of the packaging. There's nothing here to justify an extra $8 worth. Despite my grumbling I plan on getting it, but it's people like me they know they can exploit. They're doing this on purpose and not even trying to justify it. And I still can't get over the fact they finally give us an appropriate shield and they put holes in it. I just don't get this company's decisions.

    Wrong, the answer is inflation.

Don't give me that. They charged $25 for the 80th figures when a regular release was $20. The price increase for inflation was $3 so shouldn't this be $28, not $31? This has a few more accessories, a piece of cardboard, a tiny base and no baf part. Inflation has jack to do with it. Hasbro's pricing has always been up in the air. It's the same for retro carded figures that come with barely anything yet still cost the same amount as a standard release. Hell, the con exclusive Venom was $31 and he comes with less than this. Was that inflation too? A little extra paint and exclusivity doesn't constitute that price.  They want profit and to get the amount they need/want they're going to up that charge. I find it very interesting when a figure with this level of fan demand is this much more expensive.

I have Selects Immortal Hulk on pre-order, but I wonder if I should now hold off for 20th Hulk. I could really use a classic 80th Hulk, a Joe Fixit Hulk, or a 90s Professor Hulk.

I don't see them doing Hulk and not using the 80th body mold. I may be off but I'm thinking he'll be a similar figure with the darker skin tone like the one from that first wave.

So I finally got a chance to watch this video. Like most folks I'm not too pleased about the price point. That's a big price tag but what can you do? At least it comes with a lot of stuff. My biggest complaint is that shield. I love the colors but thanks to the accessories those big holes are going to be there. I display my figures more museum style and it's going to look dumb without the effects. Thankfully I have other shields I can try. Also, that electricity effect does nothing for me. Aside from filling those holes, it really doesn't make much sense as an effect to me. At least it's something I guess. Overall though, I can't wait. This is the ideal comic book Cap for me.
