  1. 2021 is definitely showing itself as MCU heavy. As much as that's a bummer for me I guess my wallet is relieved.
  2. I haven't bought any Classified yet but I do have Flint and Lady Jaye pre ordered. I have literally over a hundred 25th and maybe half that in vintage betweenfiguresandvehicles. They're seriously the most addictive toyline I collect, lol.
  3. Oh, the addiction is real. And as much as I love Marvel, I was at least able to break it down into collecting my favorite character/team. But I'm a big GI Joe fan as well and because of all the world building and just how fun that line is, I went even more insane. I really do understand why people call it plastic crack.
  4. I always paint with acrylics. For the yellow I used Citadel Paints: Flash gitz yellow mixed with Vallejo: Cold White. Just mix the two until it looks as close as possible to the yellow the figure is cast in. As for the black it was just Vallejo: Black. I suggest a really small brush for the eyes and mouth.
  5. Thanks! I really appreciate that. I was fine with the blue too but it was an easy repaint so I figured why not?
  6. We've all been there, man. I'm in very limited space on an even more limited budget. When I first started collecting I stuck to just Captain America and his crew but suddenly got to buying everything. I'm not an Xmen fan yet I even was getting them just because Legends are so great. I finally slimmed down to Avengers and Avengers primary villains and I'm still a little embarrassed how much money I've spent. I'm like you and the new FF costumes are really tempting me especially since Thing is in my top 3 favorite comic characters. This hobby can be a curse sometimes.
  7. I really appreciate you saying that. I used a mix of citadel paint's flash gitz yellow and vallejo cold white. I just had to eyeball it until it matched. For the eyes and mouth just vallejo black.
  8. My package from dorksidetoys came today. Picked up a loose AI Iron man and the retro Captain America and Ms. Marvel. I painted the eyes, mouth, unibeam and nodes on Iron Man for a more comic accurate look. Turned out alright.
  9. I was mistaken, it's Captain America issue 105. On the last page Batroc is fleeing the scene when a bomb is about to go off and tells Cap he stupidly risks his life for the undeserving masses to which Cap responds: "There was another who gave his life for the masses many centuries ago--and though he was the wisest one of all he never thought of the humblest living being as undeserving." And I was only referencing Daredevil just because I've seen a few issues where he is openly catholic. I can't believe I forgot the Rogers God quote as that's one of my favorite lines from him. My nerd card just got a hole punched in it. Also, I'm only using pro-life and christian views as an example of things we don't see in anything (not just comics) vs. how much we see others. And not just for superheroes but for anything. I don't expect those views to be expressed but we do see pro-choice messages in a lot of stuff, for example. Thanks.
  10. The interesting thing to me about the political messages in comics/movies/media/etc is that it's always from one perspective. When's the last time there was a pro-life message in something or a Christian view? Stan Lee had Captain America mention Jesus sacrifice on the cross in an issue of tales of suspense. Would that fly nowadays? Maybe Daredevil has said something like that but I really don't think so otherwise. I just miss the days when superheroes were superheroes. Now it feels more like gods doing battle with bigger gods and trying to teach us how awful we all are. Just my 10 cents. Take it for what it's worth.
  11. The point I'm making is the films will likely draw some eyes to characters people don't know anything about just yet and after seeing them in the film they might like those characters enough to want a figure of them. People already familiar with the Eternals and Shang Chi know if they want them or not but the majority of MCU fans who don't read comics or know these characters won't know anything until they see the flicks.
  12. I usually help a friend of mine who owns a comic shop on FCBD. I might grab Avengers just to see where it's at now but with Aaron still writing I'm not super interested.
  13. I would say you're probably right about Shang Chi. At the moment a lot of folks are up in the air on getting them but as soon as the film drops they'll get heat. Kong vs Godzilla did this, Eternals will do this. Just a matter of when.
  14. Nothing here that really gets me excited except for Hercules. I'll definitely grab that one as it's way better than the more modern looking Herc.
  15. Thank you. Yes, this is pretty awful. I miss the days when Dane wasn't crazy and the ebony blade was a family heirloom he wielded for good to clear the name of the Black Knight.
  16. I don't mean to be overly negative but these look horrible. Falcon's wings are well done but that's seriously the only compliment I can give them.
  17. Star Trek. Aside from the Playmates toys in the 90's we haven't gotten a deep line of Star Trek figures in a very long time. DST did a decent amount of figures from TOS (my personal favorite series) in the early 2000s but it was the main cast and a few off shoot characters. I want a line of detailed Star Trek figures from all of the series. Star Trek is my biggest love next to Marvel and I need this to happen but don't see it ever coming to fruition.
  18. Same here, I can't let the old one go. I do agree that 50 is steep for a face and a couple hands but that's Hasbro. I'm just happy he looks so good.
  19. While this looks like it could be interesting, the first thing I noticed was King Cobra. Love me some Serpent Society.
  20. Again, I'm very excited about this piece. I love my toybiz version and it was a grail figure for me for years but I think this outdoes it. Especially in capturing the comic aesthetic vs the grit of the toybiz one. Cannot wait to get that shipping notification.
  21. Mine technically already happened but I have to say Wonderman. While I like some of his classic looks, I love the black and red modern costume. I would like to see that release updated with maybe the arms from 80th Thor and closed fists and maybe a pair of sunglasses.
  22. Yeah. I tried my hand at toy photography for a bit and it was infuriating. It and the gelatinous blob they call a fist that some of the shield ladies have had are further proof that Hasbro is just now taking female figures seriously. Well, aside from my beloved Ms Marvel/Warbird figure. That's a great female figure.
  23. The problem here is they could if they tried but will they? Hasbro seems to be perfectly fine just recycling body molds. I'm like you and Moondragon feels like a great opportunity for a new buck as she has a great mid-build that would translate well to a female action figure. Hopefully they prove me wrong as they have hinted at a new body for the ladies. I also really hope we see some hands besides the same splayed ones that have come with almost every female figure.
  24. I'm curious about that too. There is the Maria Hill that came in a 2 pack with Iron Man as a Toys R Us exclusive which is my current Sharon Carter (prefer her in regular SHIELD gear over her white outfit) but I really wish there was an updated female agent body for both those characters. Honestly that's my primary reason for wanting one is to try those heads so that a better figure might be possible as it really shows it's age now. That and since I have Fury and Dum Dum it'd be nice to have some agents with them on the shelf.
