I mean it's not a wave for me personally, only because I don't collect Videogame figures , but it does really honestly feel very uninspired having 2 Peters and 3 Miles, The Spider-Man video games actually have some very neat looks for characters, why this wave couldn't have been more diverse seems silly, it really feels like a "Spider-Man sells out everytime..Arggg give them Spider-Mannnn money money, they always want spiderrrrrmANN"

in reality it could have been a very interesting wave, characters like Mysterio, Vulture, Scorpion, Shocker, Lizard, Rhino.

And what's sad is likely they will never release any of those guys.

also this wave would have really benefited from either Kingpin or Venom being a BAF it would have forced people to buy the entire wave, it's really silly they omitted a BAF when they easily could have. Now there is no question some of these figures will be hot, but certainly there are going to be pegwarmers..they could have avoided this....

This 100%, the wave selection just sucks. All those interesting designs and characters they could have chosen from they just did a literal spiderman wave. And it hurts that there's a very high chance that Hasbro will never release the big bads from this game, and in part due to the lackluster half of this wave which as you said would have greatly benefited the wave in terms of sales and not pegwarming. ML team showed a wave and 2 "deluxe" offerings and we all know that kingpin which is just complete reuse with new hands/heads should have been the baf here, but Hasbro knows that they could maximize their profit by cutting out the baf from waves and selling it in a deluxe format (which to be honest at times I prefer cuz some waves suck w/ a desirable baf IMO ie. blackheart wave). Hasbro use to do 9-10 bafs a year... last year there was 2. Currently, hasbro thinks it can replace the baf part w/ filler like idk a mini comic book (haha) or the blister cards where the value is most certainly not there.

I'm surprised how difficult it has been to find comic art of Archangel's wings that exactly match that tease. The only thing I could find that looks anything close to that is this variant comic cover of Uncanny X-Force #15. The only other image I could find looks similar too but I think that's fan art.

I almost forgot about this, made me remember that I hope they redo Deathlok with some better articulation.

Yeah I just don't understand why they pushed so hard with this Gamerverse wave. They basically just did a skins pack. Sad thing is most of this is original sculpt. I guess is the absence of MCU product and the complete missed opportunity to make the most out of the W&DP possibilities they just decided they needed another massive gamble so they can restock discount store shelves. There's a few cool looking figures but my prediction is this stuff is going to rot on the pegs...

I can't say I agree here, I think for certain some of these will peg warm. Still, I have faith that half of this wave will do pretty well as this has a large fan base within the ML community (and out (even though they're a couple of years late), and Hasbro needs redemption for dropping the ball on their last gamerverse offerings.

  4. I'm not going to say I'm shocked reading these comments as I feel we are more so the "older crowd" (pure speculation off of general comment reading, well, and it's a "news forum"), but I gotta say I like these reveals. I think the "super deluxe" venom they're trying to push looks great with a better articulation scheme than all the other figures in the wave ironic. Regardless I think it looks great, legs are long but the game design was kinda wonky with proportions so I can let it slide. And I am satisfied w/ how the symbiote spidey looks and the Puerto Rico variant miles, and ik this for sure is not everyone's cup of tea but Im digging it and I am surprised by all the new molds from Hasbro today, could never find a comic wave with this much new sculpt (well, the last one kinda did haha). And the warpath looks fine to me, I am here for that any day any week, GIMME.

Yeah I think he caught himself halfway through the word because his actually wording when he was done was that it was "an Omega Red scale" body mold. I remember it vividly because I remember thinking what does that even mean. But I'm glad it is the Retro Venom model because not only does it have superior articulation but they did something to the legs to make it a tad bit taller and they somehow look a little more muscular. Not a bad deal. But I wish they could somehow figure out a way to redo the Liefeld Era Warpath on that model because even though the official stats show WP to be shorter than Colossus the Liefeld version was clearly taller.

I would just buy more Liefeld-based designs, I'm desperate for an accurate Liefeld Cable. Also, I agree I am happy Hasbro did not super cheap out and just go with the Omega red mold and do a basic rehash of their last warpath release.

While it's surely good to get new figures from Games, it's been more than a year since the release of the game and momentum is not gone but game isn't as hot as it was, especially when there's no additional DLC to make game relevant. It would have been best to release these figures in the summer 2024.

As for figures, Spirit Spider's new torso looks awful, it's mostly due to underdeveloped tiny shoulders, if they used Og bucky cap mold it would have looks way better and closer to the game.

Kingpin looks great but it's pretty clear that proportions of the figure are far cry from the realistic game style.

I genuinely think everything they showed for the spider verse game besides the black cat, symbiote Spidey, Boricua Suit, and wonky venom looks like trash and it is obs where the budget went and honestly, I am not upset as I will pass up on those figures in the wave.  Ok after looking over them once more I think the Brooklyn  2099 miles looks pretty cool, still gonna pass.

So, I can stick with the too-tall Kingpin I currently have that stands a little under 8" tall or I can get this new too-tall Kingpin based on the Mr. Fixit body that would put him a little over 8" tall. Face looks pretty good, but no thank you.

My exact sentiments, the face sculpts look fantastic far better than their previous releases of Kingpin. Honestly, I am satisfied with the retro-carded one even though it has weak articulation (fat-muscle guy in 3 piece suit). So easy pass, might have to circle back on the secondary market for the head sculpts though.

Ok circling back to this, does anyone else see the amazing fantasy spidey mold in the Miles Boricua Suit? Cuz I thought his general shape looked very similar and doing a side by side the legs looked identical and the rest of the body looked modified in a way. Now that is reuse, I can live with.

Top of my list would be the original five X-Men in their original costumes (as a box set or a wave with a buildable Ice Slide instead of a BAF),  Marvel Monsters (box set or wave), classic Valkyrie, New Mutants (box set or wave), Last X-Man Bishop (with the dreads and armor), Mole Man, Classic 70’s Blade, Mystique, Elektra, Psylocke, Maximum Hulk,  Maximum Thor, and Maximum Daredevil!.

Damn, the last X-Man bishop would be so sick. I would be a sucker and buy multiples.
I hope these are good since I passed on the Marvel Knights wave the first time around and I want to have an MCU DD and Punisher in the collection, throw in Hector and might be in for the wave which I haven't done so in about 6 years.

I wouldn't mind them trying out an MTO set or team...

I would be interested to see them try the Great Lake Avengers or a Micronauts set pack would even be interesting to see the original Big Hero 6. Other teams IK will never be produced but I would buy the packs; Delta Force, Deep Six, Fantastic force (I actually enjoyed this team).

I would say it is most likely going to showcase the Hulk figure. And this one might move me. Because unlike Spider-Man the Hulk options have been pretty limited. If you factor out all the monotonous movie figures the comic selection has only been one figure which they've repainted over and over. While I love my Hulk figure I'd love it to be just a tad bit smaller where it matches better with figures they'll probably never get around to redoing. Like Abomination and Sasquatch and Rhino. But whatever the case if they us a fair amount of accessories and a functional way to represent the Thunder Clap I'll have to bow and pay that hefty $80 - $100 price tag. I actually think Hulk has a chance of being the better seller in this case. While a lot of people feel like they've done enough comic based Spideys to this point that they've decided one of them is good enough I think the anemic amount of Hulk options are going to want to get a definitive version not only because it may be the best one so far but also because we don't know when the heck they're ever going to do another one. To me the money I saved not buying the Spider-Man figure will serve well towards the purchase of the rare new Hulk figure.

I have some faith is Hasbro here to do something exciting with this I'm hoping to end all be all (never is such a thing) Hulk. But $80-100 is ludicrous, that's steep considering their "made to order" Dragon Man was 84.99 I just can't see this being any more than $65-75 and if Hasbro wants to pull a fast one they would charge 79.99 (not going to put it past them). And sadly I am a sucker as you said the Hulk is an open market w/ barren options and I have not been pleased with the last few Hulk offerings from any company in recent history so no matter the cost I hope they get this right.

That being said DDBa and t-bolts

I am speculating that this stream will be MCU heavy or in its entirety just hard to see Hasbro showcase any new initiative like the capcom stuff 2 weeks before toy fair. But the greedy in me wants to see some Capcom or that MAXIMUM Hulk.

    Not saying you didn...

Hey, I wasn't tryna force a rant out of you haha, no I was just quoting the previous comment about "always available" but what I meant was like its available through multiple vendors all-yearish in batches so it is easier to obtain, not as in readily available on the whim, sorry about the confusion should have reiterated myself there (& of course idk the Hasbro logistics). But that was kinda the rhetoric Dan Yun was saying, that the Hasbro/ML team wants this to be more available than the highly sought-after figures in the past or so he claimed. Maybe I am misremembering what he said in the stream with unparrelled I cant say for certain, also that goes the same for what I read from JayC.

I don't have any Ollie's where I live so I can't speak to who they buy their overstock from. It's entirely possible that they buy overstock from Amazon or Gamestop, I don't know -- but otherwise they're not getting this since it's not available at other brick and mortar retail. I might be reading too much into the comments made when this figure was introduced, but I was also under the impression that this subline is intended to be "always available" and thus likely won't be be put "on sale."

I stand by my earlier stance that this is the best Marvel Legends Spider-Man made to date, but it's overpriced for me because I'm not someone who cares about the "accessories" as much as others. Most accessories I get end up in a bin never to be seen again.

I completely agree that it's by far their best spidey to date (IMO it's not even close), but it is overpriced (should have had sculpted web lines, and ball jointed waist). But regardless of the figure itself, I am pretty confident JayC said that Hasbro purposed this line to be "always available" so that the main A list characters are always available so new collectors can have comfortable jumping on points and I want to say I heard the same rhetoric from Dan Yun on Unparrelled's live stream. And to be completely transparent I think there is a fat 0% chance this figure ends at liquidation stores, for ones it spidey, 2 Even with Hasbro's marketing manipulation tactics to convert on more units I genuinely think this still outsold just about any of their last year deluxe cuz its a "all-new" spidey despite there mass controversy. Now I can see a sale to about $40 but in no way will this drop any further. People forget that rnv spidey was going for 50 on the regular.

Effects? I hope they use a better plastic for the figure itself, I remember that Thor Ragnarok with the spinning hammer effect that wasn't able to pose at all for the cheap plastic in the legs and arm joints. I learned my lesson and now I buy after watch reviews when possible.

Yep I do that same now that's why I generally stay away from preorders for figures that I am not 100% in need (well want), and now I don't shy away from canceling preorders immediately after seeing early reviews. For ex. the agent venom figure which I was hyped about, was lackluster from mid-articulation to the small stature. Just disappointing. I am no longer in the business of buying ok even for characters I adore, I have waited decades for some characters I can wait longer for a proper version (until shi-t hits the fan).

The hulk will be an all new pinless sculpt. I think it will be amazing and better than expected. The sale out with spiderman I think is due to it being a lower production run. They said they are making less and seems true.  I haven't seen any of last year's stuff at Ollie's.

These are excellent points I have heard on streams with the ML team that Hasbro has been lowering production runs due to gross overproduction of figures over the last few years with warehouses full of them. So that is plausible.

On 2/15/2025 at 11:36 PM, AndyL said:

. And honestly I think Hasbro is creating a false scarcity on purpose because they seem to be selling like hotcakes but I don't know very many collectors that aren't waiting for this thing to go on sale.

I was juggling btw the opinions of false scarcity or their team reporting smaller count production and I almost want to give Hasbro the benefit of the doubt but they just charged 50 for this Spiderman so... Regardless both can be true and Hasbro as I think JayC reported somewhere here that there looking to keep this thing available all year, probably each being small runs.

Yes! That Joe Bennet look is so iconic and harkens back to the classic look as well. Definitely want that as one of the heads. And for anyone that did not read Immortal Hulk, do yourself a favor and grab the trades. It's one of my favorite series of the last decade, and a reminder of why I still read comics.

Immortal Hulk is my favorite top 3 Hulk comic run ever produced that why I am so hoping that the ML team would allocate at least 1 proper Alex Ross-inspired immortal hulk just like the covers!

I am very excited for Hulk. There is no way he's only 65 though. He'll be more like 70-80 bucks. Hope I'm wrong on that.  Not sure about the heads. I think I would vote for 3 different eras for more bang for my buck. But, three different emotions is important too. I am really excited about those effects though, they sound epic!!! As others have said, there still isn't a definitive "perfect" Hulk yet...

Ngl I was being pessimistic praying hasbro somehow sees are comments and puts it at that price haha. But I agree I think it's actually 69.99-74.99 which does in fact suck, but if it's is rivals as the ML team said themselves is suppose to...we will see. And yes it's needs the three different eras artist specific with differing emotions that would be fantastic!

If it's going to be super articulated and they go with popular, then either Wolverine or Deadpool make the most sense. I could see Captain America being another choice. Hulk seems like a decent choice if they want to see what they can do with a larger character in that line.

IMO Hulk would be my first choice for this line after Spiderman because Hulk is nearly an open market as there is no definitive Hulk from any company. And I am willing to cough it up (to a certain extent, maybe AT BEST 59.99-65.99 if it's phenomenal and I mean phenomenal), and if they do Hulk well with modern articulation points that can rival import companies as they claim, I would be throwing in my vote for a The Thing from John bryne as drawn by Ron Wilson. Now that would make a grown man cry.

I hope one of those Hulk heads is something like Rick Jones or Cosmic Hulk or some other character. You know just to get us some variety. I'm interested in Deadpool as well but if it's just DP with some extra hands and a load of weapons I might pass.

I was thinking the exact opposite I hope its least 2 different eras look for Hulk if not 3, like artist-specific portraits. I'm very much hoping for an immortal hulk head.

I will say the Ultimate Iron Man does seem to fill up the blister more as compared to Adam Warlock. Of course they could have just strategically placed him higher on the tray to give him the perception of more height. I'm sure one of the reviewers will get it in hand before they ship out in mass and get us some good comparison to other IM figures. Hopefully with plenty of time to cancel if necessary.

I hope that is not the case, would be some absolute bs I was hoping he is on the larger side as he should be. I do not have time for that bait-and-switch bs that companies do.

So Hulk, with waaay more plastic for each effect and the TB 20th figure was 50 or 60, is gonna be what? 80- 100? I'm scared, cause I can pass up a Spidey, but not a Hulk.

Man, I can eat a 65ish price tag for what should be the best 1/12 Hulk to ever be produced. But more than that just would suck. And to me personally no Hulk figure on the market has scratched the Hulk itch for me, diamond looks great but is damn near a statue and ML are just ok same with imports. I genuinely believe the Hasbro ML team will kill this new hulk but that price might be scary especially hearing that he comes with a thunderclap effect!?!? Excited but trying to reserve myself.

Hmmm. That's going to be 72.99 before taxes in Canadian 😵. The figure's an absolute beauty, but that's pretty steep for my tastes, and I'm still happy with the last update.

At this point, the only ones I'd pony up for are a classic Thor, Silver Surfer or a more classic looking Doom.

Man 70 to 80 bucks for a ML is just nuts and for a regular sized one at that!??! Damn that's just wow.

Isn't that Luke Cage also on a new body mold? So, they COULD have made him scale properly.

This is the worst part. The opportunity was right there and they just sucked. But they keep doing this, that miles was all new as they said, and the hips? wth is that? Some of their decision-making is just so aggravating and its remarkable how backward some of there choices are.

A LOT of fans wanted this figure and were severely let down. And there is no explanation for why this turned out to be the crapfest that it is. This hasbo team, that loves to go on about how much they love Marvel Comics and its characters, just do the sloppiest work sometimes. The Falcon, Moon Knight, Moon Dragon, Firelord, Blue Marvel, Captain Marvel/Binary, the Silver Surfer- all of them are at the wrong scale for height, and Luke got lumped in there too. But at least their articulation wasn't stunted. The lack of attention to detail is baffling.

And don't get me started on the vast majority of the female figures.

But yeah Cage really, really needs an immediate re-do. Maybe a nice two pack with Iron Fist (this time in his CLASSIC out fit, with the collar ending in a "v")....

Don't even get me started on their silver surfer... that one pisses me off to no avail. Spiderman (5'10) ≠ Silver Surfer (6'4 225). This is why I hope after that rumored Hulk and now Deadpool (after that Jayc reported), that Silver Surfer is the next maximum figure and IDC about the price I want a quality Silver Surfer in scale with modern articulation and as Toybiz did 20 years ago a magnetic board. Is this really too much to ask for?

Luke Cage, Arm Pit for Hire. Please. Just what were they thinking there? Not only is he just too small (he's supposed to be around 6' 6"), that ridiculous choice to restrict his torso movement, plus the overlay exposing his armpits, just ruined the figure. The lack of boot rotation didn't help either.

This was very aggravating, one of my favorite characters and have been waiting years for a proper classic Luke Cage and Hasbro makes an all-new mold, and its sucks? Like the articulation is outdated, the size is too small, and  the pits? Like wth.

Depends how badass the Shatterstar is, I friggin love him LOL. But your list pretty well matches who I think they would release; watch when they do MCU Maximum variants and the GOTG is 50 bucks a pop

If they do continue this into the MCU, there is almost none that I would purchase. I would buy a Captain America, maybe even a Black Panther (or a Thanos cause their other attempts sucked), but that would be it. Idk why I would not buy more characters if they were to release them in the maximum format maybe it's because they do a decent job at the more popular characters.
