When Jae Lee took over the art, the storyline had Namor in another amnesia spell and he had a feral, shaggy beard then. Later, when wearing the "sacred armor of Atlantis" as he does in this figure, it was just the wild hair. But I can see the confusion, 'cause Lee used a lot of stylized inking and shadow (he also did some killer shots of Namorita and Namor's mom, Princess Fen....) and there are many panels where someone could think the Sub-Mariner had a beard in those shots.

Yeah. Thanks for bringing me back to looking through some nice comics. It looks like the cover of #37, although the interior has him wearing a pony tail. Then when he has the hair loose again at the end of the comic, he's wearing the Atlantean armor and it starts a run of him looking like the figure, but with the armor. Kinda wish the figure had the armor. Either way, I am more interested after looking back at those issues.

There's a lot to unpack here....

Did you really not understand or was that a snarky way of attacking me for daring to think religion could be mentioned and discussed in a grown up way on a forum? You're right, my mistake. Edited the OP.

  2. Namor: This isn't the Namor I wanted, but shouldn't he have a beard like the other guy said? No buy.

Namorita: Looks good, but wrong Namorita. No buy except maybe on clearance.

Wonder Woman Knockoff: Looks good, but again, wrong one. Her 80s look was really cool and unique. This one just looks like a Wonder Woman knock off. No buy.

    Vision: Looks good. Must buy.

Black Panther: Looks good for what it is, but it's not the look I want. No buy.

    Crystar: Looks good. Probably buy.

The Other Guy: Looks lame. Not from Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme. No buy.

Void: Looks kinda cool but way outta my era and not buying the whole set to get it, so no buy.

Detroit Steel: Looks kinda cool, but way outta my era. No buy.

So a little bummed but not bummed at all if that makes sense. Giant Man is beautiful,  truly great figure. The extra Pym faces are nice, I can see using the angry face but the happy face looks.. almost psychotic (and not in a Yellowjacket sort of way). I do admit the victorious team photo at the end goes a long way towards making me lime the smiling face TBH..

But the Tiers are kinda blah. The Skrull head maybe but the Zombie head is very niche.. I guess not as bad as Doom head for Galactus though.... and this isnt Hasbro’s fault at all, I had gotten my hopes up that we'd get some 6" figures as Tiers.

Overall, I couldn't be happier. Glad nothing was locked behind an unrealistic Early Bird, Hasbro 1000% knocked their Giant Man out of the park, once again improving on the previous stellar Toybiz version and its the right balance if cost Vs value.

You could argue that Hasbro played it safe and is doing everything  they can to make sure this succeeds but outside of my personal hopes, this offering is a perfect way to end the amazing 60th anniversary wave.

Well done Hasbro. I'm already backing Giant Man

I prefer the V strap on the Toybiz version over the Y strap on the Haslab,

Hey it's probably just me, but I found this whole thing kinda dull, and unamusing, 200 bucks for this? now seems like still too much, 150, yeah maybe, it's just kinda meh, just a giant giant man, with some swappable faces, really happy for those who are pumped on this, but this doesn't move me much at all, it's not really exciting, it's too big, I got no place for it, and I sorta feel like it doesn't even need to be 200 or a crowdfunded thing, 150 and just make it a pulse exclusive. I still always gotta ask Why do you have to crowdfund ? yer Hasbro?, if yer scared it won't sell just make it limited. it's basically what yer doing now.

Same. This would be way out of whack in my display, but happy for those who want it. Maybe we'll see a more moderately sized GM a couple years from now.

  5. I feel like the V strap is the more iconic look than the Y strap. Paint wipes and glass eyes or whatever seem out of place among my other Marvel Legends. Lastly, he's a little too large for my liking. It says they took inspiration from his first appearance, but he's 2x normal human height there, not 4x.

For that and display reasons, I think I'd rather have a Super Adaptoid sized and priced Giant Man, or halfway in between.

I just got it at $67 and I feel like I should have waited for under the $60 mark.  Oh well...  Also, It was on my front porch 18 hours after I ordered.  I think they're in a big hurry to get rid of them, lol.

Well dang, They still haven't delivered my $76 one yet.

ETA: Oh wait, I think it's outside lol.
