  1. For anyone annoyed that Cosmo is the BSF, I’m sure Hasbro will re-release Cosmo. There’s no way Hasbro won’t reuse that sculpt. Maybe we will get her in a two pack with Groot with the extra arms and guns like we’ve seen in the trailer or with High Evolutionary.
  2. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does IDW have the rights to publish a book of Spider-Man pictures?
  3. What is Spidey shooting here? It looks like Dr. Strange-type magic? Also, how does Funko make more screen accurate figs than Hasbro (see the red on the black suit forearms)? Is the Funko process faster so they can use screen accurate images?
  4. You're right about Serpent Society not being great for Target/Walmart. The AoA wave didn't fly off the shelves around here. They would need to be a fan channel offering. I thought about the box set too, but I wonder if some people might prefer to spend $20 a pop and spread it out instead of $100+ at one time. If the point is that Hasbro needs Cap and IM and Wolverine and Spider-Man in the waves to sell anything, why not just have have waves that are designed for Target/Walmart that are mostly the big name characters or movie characters (if they can ever sync up the release schedule again)? What if they had a yearly wave that was a stripped down version of the most popular characters as a gateway toy to bring in new collectors and grow the business? (I will never understand why Hasbro didn't make 10 gajillion retro Spider-Man and sell him everywhere), Then the BAF could be the bait to new collectors to "get 'em all."
  5. I get what you are saying, and that is what I plan to do with the Shang Chi wave (although I'm going to sell Hyde) but often everyone is trying to sell or trade the same figures from a wave. Making consumers buy something that they immediately try to get rid of is not a way to engender loyalty.
  6. On the one hand, I would be happy to lose the BAF piece in exchange for more accessories. Maybe Hasbro could incentivize less popular figures with more/better accessories (guns, effects, beer bottle for Logan, bags of $ for street villains, etc.) I also wish the BAFs came with more accessories. What if Hasbro was more judicious with the use of BAFs? For instance, instead of spreading out Constrictor (2012), Eel (2016), Cottonmouth (2016), King Cobra (2018), and Rock Python (2019) (all of whom were pegwarmers), what if Hasbro made them a themed wave with a kick-ass Bushmaster BAF? I think collectors would be more willing to purchase those characters if you knew you were getting core Serpent Society characters in one fell swoop as opposed to dragging them out over the years with uncertainty about which characters would be made and when they would be available. What if Hasbro made smaller production runs of deluxe characters like Mr. Hyde and sold them through fan channels or Pulse (kind of surprised they don't do this already as an incentive to join)?
  7. Yes, please! Get rid of BAFs and replace them with more accessories, alternate heads, blast effects -- CapSam doesn't even come with fists for crying out loud. I think some of those less popular characters don't sell well because we don't know when or if Hasbro will finish the team. Take Rock Python and the Serpent Society, the Serpent guys have come out over a number of years with no real sense of what the final team would look like. I think collectors might be more likely to buy them if Hasbro would announce it all at once rather than dribbling them out over several years. Possibility 1: make them their own wave with a relevant BAF: i.e. King Cobra, Rock Python, etc. should be their own wave with a kickass Bushmaster as the BAF (you could make him as big/long as you want like Stilt-Man)). Possibility 2: make a box set (like Alpha Flight) of the core Serpent Society. Then, if the box sells well, you can always add members down the line. For bigger guys like Mr. Hyde, make him a deluxe figure with more accessories or and a smaller production run and sell him through Pulse/Fan Channel. I really don't like BAFs. Splitting up Sam's wings puts a really sour taste in my mouth. He should have been a deluxe figure with ALL the pieces in one box (including the peg for the shield to carry on his back while in flight).
