Marvel Select The Watcher Figure Re-Issue Up For Pre-Order
Fyrefly21 replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Maaaaan, I've waited years for this rerelease and it's already sold out. Sometimes I truly hate this hobby. Hope he restocks again. -
Orginial Sin wave, yes or no?
Fyrefly21 replied to SUPREME007's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I put Original Sin in the same category of middling forgettable as Axis or Inhumanity, but Orb would be a fun figure, and it'd be a good excuse to get a classic Fury remake and a Uatu if the What If wave doesn't beat us to it. -

Had a solid weekend, though not much at normal retail. Got the Select Hulk and Hulkbuster, a second Black Knight and Toybiz Hobgoblin. Select Hulk is super impressive in-hand. I still prefer the face and superior articulation on the 80th, but can see why some prefer the sheer mass on this one. I bought it for the Robot Hulk head to keep with my villains, and really dig it for that. Figured I'd better throw in the Hulkbuster while at it since it feels unlikely we'll get a Legends for this design and it was always my favorite. It desperately needs to have its head popped out and reset but once you do that, it looks fantastic as well. Wish it had slightly better articulation and more hands like Hulk, but it's good enough for me. The second Black Knight is just to have both Dane and Percy on-display; the former with the Avengers and the latter with my Masters of Evil. I probably need to boil some water to straighten the Ebony Blade back out though. Finally grabbed the old Classics Hobgoblin from a local toy shop so that, when that retro figure comes out this year, I'll be able to have the whole Hobby family using this one as Jason. It's a crazy reminder of how wild Toybiz sculpting was; absolutely gorgeous cape and glider. -

It's on a different mold, the Terrax uses one of the skinnier pre-modern bodies. The Ronan series Surfer one I think, with the outdated ball hips. The two pack uses the Sunfire mold with a headsculpt based on modern art, as opposed to the classic look of the Terrax. The new one is a way better figure but I think I still prefer the Terrax because of the classic design. -
Death Dealer looks sick. I can settle for such a minor character being an MCU look since its at least a costume and not just actors in plainclothes. The other MCU figures seem pretty boring unfortunately. I'm hopeful the actual movie will be a fun wuxia action flick and not just more generic modern Marvel and that'll help make me feel better about buying them for Hyde.

The Avengers Brace Themselves For World War She-Hulk
Fyrefly21 replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Yes, please god kick Aaron to the curb. Have him take a Prehistoric Avengers spin-off, that's clearly the only thing he really cares about. Zub's Champions was good and so was his Empyre stuff, I'd be thrilled for him to get his shot. -

I assume it's more that the Winter Guard characters were getting a bigger spotlight thanks to the Black Widow movie putting a spotlight on Russian characters, so everyone Marvel adjacent has been putting some new focus on them. -
Oh man, Knull with his Dragon would be amazing, and since he has an army of dragons, you'd be able to get army builder purchases out of it too. I'd probably buy the max allotment of it if they went that way.

Man, the Toybiz is one of those figures I never thought would be topped, and that side by side is wild. I think the only thing that looks better on the old one is the blast effect stand- everything else on the Hasbro figure looks like a major step up. Now let's get a MODAM remold lol

Surtur would be fantastic, though I fear they're just going to give us a Civil War Giantman sized MCU figure in the Infinity Saga line and call it good enough with him. Including some fire demon army builders would be a dream come true. I think I'd like to see them shift to slightly smaller and less expensive niche characters that are still too big to see a retail release. Something like a $150 Devil Dinosaur and other things of that scale. But I'll buy in for pretty much any large character they choose to make.

More Pre-MCU Legends? Yes or No?
Fyrefly21 replied to Dabboi's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I generally want fewer non-comic figures period, but a small selection of Raimi anniversary figures seems both inevitable and alright. I'd be kinda into Lou Ferigno Hulk too, that sounds fun. -
I'd be into this, but he'd need to come with a bunch of elaborate spell effect pieces to really sell me as a deluxe.

Fantastic Four-related HasLab Speculation
Fyrefly21 replied to RyanDaly's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I know I bought three and I dont even like the X-Men. I'd love Galactus but I can't see anything outselling the Sentinel thanks to that army building potential -
I dig this design, so I'll be glad to put this one together, but I agree the figure seems to sorely miss some fists.

Hasbro Fan Fest Marvel Legends Panel
Fyrefly21 replied to JayC's topic in Marvelous News's General Area
Considering the FF Retro wave that's supposed to be coming, I'd be shocked if the Fantasticar would come with a retro FF- they'd be much more happy to sell us those separately. It would be well timed for a Fantasticar release though. My bet is still Galactus, but that might just be my Marvel Cosmic love blinding me first and foremost. -

No one makes BAFs of that size anymore for a reason, the market just isn't the same as it was in 2005. Galactus can not be both large enough to satisfy scale, especially next to the new Sentinels, and also be a BAF. -

This would be my Sail Barge for sure. Exciting, iconic, and far too large for me to ever put on display if they were ever mad enough to try it. I'd even settle for a scaled down one that can fit like 3 or 4 figures and still not find room for it lol
