  1. But, lemme guess...they're gonna use the wings as an excuse to justify doubling the retail prices on Falcon-Cap and Angel...
  2. I'm surprised it took them this long to do Hydra Cap. Definitely getting him. And Falcon Cap, with wings and his own non-Steve shield. Angel is also a must have.
  3. I've been hoping for Cyclops and Jean. Now I won't have to give in and open the Love Triangle three-pack.
  4. It would be great once this is all over with if they could put Beast back on the Avengers, along with Wonder Man. Give him some time to readjust and clear his head before going back to the X-Men (if they'd even have him back).
  5. Getting serious "Birds of Prey" vibes. Looks kinda low-budget, and it seems like it should've come out in 2002.
  6. It doesn't look amazing. BUT...Julia Carpenter...in costume. That's worth the ticket price by itself.
  7. I was never able to snag a Walgreens Moon Knight, so I'm in for this one. Seems REALLY soon for an Amazing Fantasy Spidey re-release, though.
  8. I'm astonished that they're bringing Julia Carpenter to the big screen. She's one of my all-time favorite characters, and she's been largely ignored in the comics since the mid-90's. Maybe for once, movie synergy will actually work in my favor, and they'll give her a more substantial role in the comics? I'd love to see her go back to being Arachne. Frankly, her role as Madame Web sucks, and it's been a complete waste of her character. She gets a premonition. It gives her a headache. The premonition ends up not coming true because Peter steps in to prevent it. Rinse and repeat. It's time to change the damn record, already. I'd kill to see her back as an Avenger, or even a Force Works revival (I know, probably not a chance in hell of either one ever happening).
  9. Well, looks like they're really pushing Squadron Supreme. Power Princess, incoming.
  10. If that's the case, I'll be very satisfied with it. $25 for a comic-accurate Sentinel that completely towers over the 6" figures seems VERY worth the price. It may not be as fancy as the HasLab version, but it's also nowhere near as expensive. This will scratch the itch I have to own a Sentinel for my 6" X-Men figures, without killing my wallet.
  11. Just to clarify, that Doom figure is 6" scale? And the Sentinel that's towering over him is under $25?
  12. Great alternative for those (like me) who can't shell out hundreds of dollars on a single Sentinel. And he still towers over the 6" figures, which gives me the effect that I'm looking for. Good way to scratch that itch without breaking the bank. I just hope they'll be available at retail stores. I want the retail price.
  13. Gee, what an amazing, astonishing revelation that literally nobody saw coming. 🙂 I hate it when they really try to push characters like this. Having the writers running around screaming "she's popular! she's popular!" doesn't actually make her popular. The way they handle Kamala is the same way they tried to handle The Inhumans a few years ago. How well did that work out for The Inhumans? Oh, right. It didn't. People went from merely being indifferent towards The Inhumans to actively hating them so much to the point that Marvel literally had to drop them off the face of the Earth. I really wish Kamala existed as a separate character, instead of a Carol Danvers fangirl. Carol never should've given up the Ms. Marvel costume. And because of MCU synergy, she'll probably never be allowed to wear it again.
  14. I'm a HUGE X-Files fan! I hate the way they handled the revival series from a couple years back. But, yes, they managed to make a good chunk of the episodes standalone, while still balancing ongoing narratives (aliens, government conspiracies, Mulder's sister) that lasted throughout the entire run. That was brilliant. 75% of the episodes could be enjoyed in a simple "movie of the week" format, while the other 25% kept you engaged with Mulder and Scully's personal arcs. I still do a yearly binge-watch of the series. I appreciate the series way more as an adult than I did as a kid. Cigarette Smoking Man is on of TV's greatest bad guys.
  15. Because they want to *hype* you up for the movie. Ironically, with the movie being almost a year and a half away, this new tie-in comic will probably be cancelled before the movie even hits theaters. This book isn't going to last beyond its second story arc, and I'd be surprised if it even gets THAT far.
  16. You know this book isn't going to last long enough for this team to ever truly mesh together as any kind of cohesive unit. Can you honestly picture a book like this holding its own against the likes of Avengers/X-Men/Fantastic Four? The original Thunderbolts comic had an amazing premise, and it lasted close to 175 issues. Even when the book kept reinventing itself, it never lost its original premise. This new one is only going to be Thunderbolts by name, only. Zero connection to the original series. I'll be truly impressed if it even makes it to double digits, but we all know this book is dead on arrival. Remember when they tried to relaunch Defenders, but it was based on the Netflix/MCU version of the team, and had no resemblance to the original? Cancelled by issue ten. And that book looked way more exciting than this one. They should really just save themselves the embarrassment of its inevitable cancellation, and just sell this as a mini-series. Books like this which are created solely for MCU synergy should be in their own separate MCU comic universe, and should be kept away from the mainstream 616. That way, when it fails, nobody will care.
  17. I detest MCU synergy in the comic books. This looks like such a thrown together lineup. It's like taking all the leftovers out of your fridge and making a meatloaf. And this is worse than usual, because there are just too many similar characters here that are carbon copies of each other. Looks boring. This won't make it past the 12-issue mark. Remember Strikeforce? Neither does anybody else.
  18. It's just an uglier version of what she was already wearing. And that jacket is going to be too restrictive for battle. I really wish she would go back to her traditional black costume with the lightning bolt. That's the Carol I grew up with.
  19. Honestly, this sounds kind of boring. Not really what I want to see in an Avengers title. However, I am at least happy that Janet Van Dyne will be getting some attention. It seems like they don’t want characters like her around anymore, because it doesn’t really match MCU synergy. They want Scott Lang and his supporting cast, instead of Hank and Jan.
