Marvel Legends 2011 and 2012
m.arndt replied to SolidSnakeInMyPants's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
At this rate I hope they re-release red Deadpool from the latest 2 packs as a single in the 2012 ML line since I've never seen one of those 2 packs at retail yet. -
Hey Rickor! I'll be keeping an eye on some of your auctions, hopefully I can win a few. Too bad I saw this so late. ....let me just say I've bought stuff from Rickor many times before from different forums. A GREAT guy to deal with.

Marvel Legends 2 packs Finally Hit !
m.arndt replied to SolidSnakeInMyPants's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
i cant believe people voted for val over some of the other choices. No one voted for either Val or Hulk (well, I voted for Hulk). They already had the molds made, so those 2 were pretty much guaranteed to be included as the peg-warmers in this release. It makes sense financially for Hasbro to just use pre-existing molds... just sucks for us, since Val's sculpt is OLD, since she was made for release in the Hulk Legends line. Not arguing with anyone here but to be fair, if the Hulk/Val 2 pack had a variant that was shipped practically 50/50 like the other 2 packs seem to be I'm sure it wouldn't be such a peg warmer. I know I would have bought more if there was a grey Hulk variant... even if Val was the same, with at least a swappable head (ponytails maybe?) or something. -
Captain America / Thor 6" Movie Lines
m.arndt replied to EldestSon's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I got a peak at a few,,,, Next week I will break the news. Is it next week yet? SSIMP: Any chance you've got any insider info on those 6" Crimson Dynamo & Titanum Man figures also? -
OK, thanks. Love your avatar pic BTW.

I never bothered getting any of the HML series 3 Brood Queen wave, but I've been thinking about finally trying to obtain all the BAF pieces to complete a Brood Queen. My question is about the 3 hind legs. From the few pics I've seen, I can't tell if there's any difference between 3 right hind legs and 3 left hind legs.... Now I do realize 1 of the 3 hind legs is larger than the other 2 for each side, but what I'm really trying to ask is are there any differences in the 3 hind legs that come with Black Knight and the 3 hind legs that come with golden age Captain America? I want to avoid buying all the hind legs only to find out that I ended up with 6 left hind legs (or 6 right) instead of 3 right and 3 left. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I for one am glad that Hulk is being released. I'll finally have a Hulk with fists. I do hope he's released as a gray variant too. As it stands right now I want at least 3 Hulks; 1 for me and 1 each for my kids..... and if there is a gray variant then I'll want 3 of those as well. If not, I may have to get 6 Hulks & paint 3 of them gray myself. So if there's anyone out there who only wants Valkyrie, please keep me in mind when these 2 packs are released.

I'd love to see those pics...

Awesome! Thanks so much for everyone's opinions. I was originally leaning towards trying to track down a Giant Man Thor, but I had no idea about the scale issues. Since 99.9% of my Marvel collection are Hulk related figures and figures who have gone a few rounds with the Hulk, Giant man Thor's scale would be even more noticeable because he looks like he'll be dwarfed by She-Hulk and possibly Doc Samson too. A close second was the MS Modern Thor, but I'm always a little weary of new costumes and their lasting appeal. Thanks to the pics & opinions ML 3 Thor is growing on me......except for the fact that it looks like he's wearing blush on his cheeks. My first thought was that the older figure might be showing it's age when stacked up against newer offerings, but it seems I was wrong about that.

I still don't have a Thor figure in my display. I'd love some suggestions on which one I should try & track down.

The only thing I like about that new GG is the flaming pumpkin bomb. If it goes on clearance I'd buy it for my kids, and keep the pumpkin bomb for one of my other GGs. BTW: EldestSon, what GG figure is that?

$5? Man, I need a friend like you in the States. I only saw them for $24.99 or $29.99 in local comic shops up here....

With the Planet Hulk direct-to-video animated movie coming out in Feb. 2010, I would love to see Hasbro do something similar to what Mattel did with releasing their Target exclusive Public Enemies wave of DC figures to tie-in with the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies direct-to-video animated movie. I think it would be a perfect chance to release the Red King prototype that was canceled from the FFF wave, and a Hulk figure (for me it would preferably be the green McGuinness Hulk from the SDCC poll, but I'll take any Hulk figure really) in the form of a 2 pack as a retail exclusive to tie-in to the Planet Hulk movie. It could have special Planet Hulk packaging, or whatever to coincide with the movie. With the size to those 2 figures, the price point would more than likely be higher than the current 2 packs, but that wouldn't stop me from buying. Too bad there's probably no chance of it ever happening though. What do you guys think? Good idea or not?

Red King and Valkyrie Prototype Pics

So SolidSnake, can you post pics of any other rare stuff you have? I'd love to see them. Also, how's your painting Valkyrie going? -
Create a ML series... renewed
m.arndt replied to MrDizzle's topic in Marvel Legends Figure Discussion
I'd just be happy with a full wave of unreleased prototypes, but since I'm a Hulk fan first, it would be a little Hulk-themed character heavy: -McGuinness Green Hulk -Bi-Beast -Red King -1st Appearance Storm -Silver Samurai -Magneto -Valkyrie -Gambit (yellow and blue Jim Lee X-Men costume) .....oh, and regarding that Frost Giant, who was supposed to be in that wave again??? -
beat me to it.... I would buy them (unlike electro16, I don't hate buying onlne), but Hasbro won't ship to Canada.

Red King and Valkyrie Prototype Pics

SolidSnake: Any chance your contact in Hong Kong has any more Red Kings available? -
Thanks everyone for the insight. Veruy helpful! :) He's listed around 6', but all the artists draw him bigger than everyone else, which is why that one is too short. If Hasbro scaled that mold up and inch or so, and painted him like the two-pack version, that would be the definitive Thing. What's the difference in the paint between the 2 pack and Ronan wave Thing? Anyone have pics of the figure?
-
I never did buy a ML Thing figure. Lately I've been tracking down some older figures for my shelf display of characters that have gone a few rounds with the Hulk. Next on my list is a Thing figure. Which Thing figure would you suggest? I was wondering about the FFL Ronan wave Thing figure, since I've actually never seen that one in person (only online pics).

Why no Mattel thread in the "ask the toy companies" forum?
