  1. This is widely believed but not actually true. There was already a usage agreement in place long before this change was made (heck, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast in the role way back in 2013). The only stipulation for the usage was that they couldn't be called Mutants and Magneto couldn't be referenced. You are definitely correct that the change was due to animosity between the two companies, though. Probably came straight from Perlmutter as nothing more than a petty way to needle the competition. Nonetheless, they didn't *need* to change it for the MCU, they just did it anyway.
  2. I'm with you on all of this. Give me the Whizzer, not this "Blur" guy! Already have classic Nighthawk so I'm good on that front. Doc Spectrum and Hyperion can blend in just fine as classic Squadron, but I have no grand affinity for this weirdo Mephisto team iteration. Power Princess is the only updated look that's bringing anything to the table. I just want to see some classic Squadron members. Preferably Gruenwald Maxi-series era but that's me.
  3. If you're planning on potentially cancelling one, I hope you separated the orders. I've noticed in the past with pulse that if you go to cancel an item of which you're ordering multiples, it will cancel all of them. It doesn't give you an option to just remove one.
  4. And so it begins. Legends is just going to financially crush me this year, I can feel it. Especially after yesterday's reveals. But I wouldn't collect them if I didn't love the hell out of this line.
  5. I think, much to my surprise, the Sersi figure might be the one that has me the most excited, though Hawkeye, Tarantula and bendy tentacles are certainly nothing to sneeze at.
  6. First X-Men comic I ever read, aside from an old B&W reprint of Giant Size. Which was both rather confusing ("Hey! These aren't the X-Men!") and pretty exciting. And though it puts me in an absolute minority and I know it'll never happen, I harbor a deep desire for an X-Men uniform Sunder figure, because I love that cover and it's really meaningful to me. But of course, nobody cares about Sunder, he never actually wears it and he gets murked by the end of the issue, so yeah, I know Hasbro's never going to make this happen.
  7. No. Nooooo..! It was dead! it was dead and we were all the better for it. When they finally killed it during Secret Wars it was the ultimate "and nothing of value was lost" situation. They shed the dross, kept what was usable and that was finally that. I actually have a lot of love for the ol' 1610 and say with sincerity that Hickman's Ultimate work is underappreciated gold, but my god did it turn in to a complete cluster towards the end. Ultimate End was a nonsensical mercy killing.
  8. Yowch. I don't like to talk too much smack about Legends, it's by far my favorite line to collect, but this is kind of painful. Easy pass on the Groot, I don't think it's a good look for the character to begin with, I don't feel the need to immortalize it in my collection. The rest of the characters look good, but I already have multiple versions of most of them as it is, so I guess it'll just be Kraglin and maybe AW, which would be the first time I didn't but a full Legends wave in years. But Cosmo as a build-a-mini-figure is just insulting, and I don't want to contribute to rewarding a regressive practice that hearkens back to the days of Rocket and Hit-Monkey. It's bad enough when the build is a standard size character to begin with. Maybe this will meet the same shelf fate as the Eternals wave, and the whole lot will need to be clearanced out as retailers struggle to get rid of them. Probably not, but if so I'll pick up the rest. Honestly, I'm just really disappointed in them, and I don't mean the figures.
  9. This looks really well done. I don't buy Diamond too often, particularly if the figure isn't meant to be bigger and thereby fits with all my Legends, but I'll make an exception here.
  10. Are you telling me the lack of traction on Jackpot, Nightwatch, Madame Web, The Sinister Six, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Black Cat and Silver Sable, Kraven the Hunter and El Muerto have given you cause to doubt Sony's sincere commitment to producing top quality content? How jaded one must be.
  11. Gotta give them credit, these MCU figures look especially good. Kang is the obvious standout, but that Wasp likeness is fantastic.
  12. I like the figure, and I'm looking forward to getting him, but I'm going to find it kind of funny if he just takes up space and they eventually have to clearance him out. It'll give new meaning to that soundclip that always plays in my head whenever I see anything that has to do with him; "Nothing moves the Blob!"
