  3. When MARVELS SNAPSHOTS begins in March, fans will get to see Marvel's greatest characters from the Golden Age to today, in new legendary tales told through the eyes of ordinary people! As curator of this landmark series, Kurt Busiek has handpicked the creative teams for each standalone, double-sized issue and he’s put together an amazing assemblage of talent to tackle April’s issues focusing on Captain America and the X-Men. First up, Eisner nominated writer Mark Russell will revisit Jack Kirby’s classic Madbomb storyline from his 1970s run on CAPTAIN AMERICA. “Some people, when they call, you gotta pick up the phone. And Kurt Busiek is one of those people,” says Russell. “I was pretty instantly sold on the project once he started describing it to me— stories about the human cost of these famous conflicts in the Marvel Universe. I truly enjoyed working on this with him.” Known for his work on books like Second Coming and Wonder Twins, Russell says MARVELS SNAPSHOT: CAPTAIN AMERICA will focus on “the Madbomb's impact in the South Bronx, a community which had already been effectively abandoned by the rest of the nation, that community's struggle for survival, and of the search for heroes of its own.” He will be joined by acclaimed artist Ramón Pérez(ALL-NEW HAWKEYE). Next, in X-MEN: MARVELS SNAPSHOT, readers will see the rise of super heroes from the eyes of a young orphan named Scott Summers, the boy who would grow up to be Cyclops. The future X-Men leader couldn’t be in safer hands. Jay Edition, the co-host of the popular X-Men podcast, Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men, makes his Marvel Comics debut with a tale about one of his favorite characters. “This is a story that's pretty personal to me—because I'm me, and it's a Cyclops story; but even more because it's about the ways that superheroes and the stories around them can become lifelines. If I'm going to be really sappy about it (which I absolutely am), I get to give one of my favorite heroes the same kind of touchstone he's been to me over the years,” says Edidin. “I'd say it's a dream come true, but given that I'm the kind of uptight overachiever who overidentifies with Scott Summers in the first place, maybe also a bit of an anxiety dream come true. That said, it's been a blast to get to sit down and play in a sandbox I've spent years cataloguing and analyzing and explaining." Teaming up with Edidin will be artist Tom Reilly, a rising star artist known for his recent work on Immortal Hulk. Don’t miss this grand celebration of Marvel’s legacy that’s sure to be an instant favorite for True Believers old and new.

  7. Eisner-nominated writer Kelly Thompson (Captain Marvel) will be launching a new Black Widow ongoing series this April! Drawn by rising star artist Elena Casagrande (Catwoman), BLACK WIDOW #1 will feature a deadly mystery that only the Marvel Universe’s greatest spy can solve. Beyond San Francisco’s Golden Gate, Natasha’s entire world will be upended as she finds herself up against some of her most formidable villains. But what happens when they’ve found a way to take her out – even more permanent than death? Readers can expect all the intrigue and heart-pounding exploits that Natasha Ramonoff is known for as well as appearances by characters like Red Guardian and Yelena Belova! With this new series, 2020 will be Black Widow’s greatest adventure yet! "I think Black Widow is an incredibly rich character in that she works well in a lot of different genres, but that can also make her a little tricky – if you try to do too much with her instead of committing to a clear vision I think you can run into trouble,” Thompson told IGN. I’m very interested in the duality of Natasha… so look for that to be a recurring theme in this first arc as she struggles against that and leans into it. We have some high profile guest stars (and of course some impressive villains) but this story has to stand on its own for a lot of reasons that will become clear immediately in issue one… which starts off feeling like a classic Natasha story and then quickly becomes quite unlike any story we’ve ever seen for her before." “Kelly Thompson is one of my favorite writers. She really knows how to get to the core of what a character is,” says Associate Editor Sarah Brunstad in the BLACK WIDOW Launch Trailer. “This new series asks the question: What would happen if some of Black Widow’s greatest enemies come together and figure out how to put her out of commission for good?” “Natasha’s fought so many different villains over the years but she’s never had that one definitive villain in her life but now we’re bringing her past back to haunt her so to speak with the Red Guardian,” CB Cebulski adds. “What Kelly Thompson is doing, pulling together all these amazing elements of Black Widow’s past to bring her in the future makes it a must-read comic of 2020.” Follow along on Natasha Ramonoff’s latest mission this April in BLACK WIDOW #1!

  11. Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas will be co-writing a new Marvel comic series this April with Benjamin Jackendoff. The pair previously worked together on a story for MARVEL COMICS 1000 that focused on Red Wolf and will now be teaming up with acclaimed comic artist Scott Eaton on WEREWOLF BY NIGHT. The series will introduce a brand-new Werewolf by Night character to the Marvel Universe in a story set in Arizona. The new Werewolf by Night will be a young man named Jake who will be dealing with the effects of a family curse while trying to protect his people. The events of the story will also be driven by the outcome of March’s OUTLAWED one-shot. “We're going through a Native lens because of my Native American heritage,” Taboo told Comicbook.com. “I always liked storytelling from a native perspective. Although I was born in the city of Los Angeles, recently I've been really connected to the Indian country or to native communities to be able to be a service and help native youth, inspire them, especially when it comes to health and wellness, and arts and music. So we built our partnership knowing that when we create, we create through a native lens…” “I think Werewolf by Night is such an interesting character, a cool character. His mythology is really dope, and it was such an exciting opportunity to be able to revamp a new mythology and tie it into Native American storytelling,” Jackendoff added. “That's really what got us excited because they were like, ‘All right, cool. We can take the Werewolf by Night brand and stay true to the genre of it all, the creatures, the monsters, the big stuff, all that, but tie it into Native American storytelling, into a Native American background and palette, but still make it a fun adventure story about a kid.’"
  12. Last night at the SAG Awards Marvel Studios took home another award this time for Outstanding Action Performance By Stunt Ensemble In A Motion Picture.
  13. Marvel Movie Rumor Round-Up - New Eternals Set Look And Christain Bale Playing Mephisto??? This is a new segment were we attempt to round-up all the crazy MCU movie rumors that seem to hit the Internet on almost a daily basis. Granted many of these rumors have absolutely no basis in truth and seem to be passed around primarily for click-bait purposes. For most of these, unless stated otherwise we aren't really treating them as serious news, but we thought it might be fun to pass along in order to speculate about the "What Ifs" that might come from them. It should go without saying, but these rumors do lend themselves to potential SPOILERS. First we have less of a rumor and more of a sneak peek from the set of the upcoming Eternals movie. The images give us a very blurry look at Kit Harington as Dane Whitman and Gemma Chan as Sersi on the set of Eternals. In all honesty it's hard to believe anyone is willing to consider these to be news, but that's the Internet we live in today. Next up we have several theories that have been gaining steam on the net every since word got out that actor Christian Bale was negotiating for a role in the upcoming Thor: Love And Thunder movie. One theory is based on him playing the character known as Mephisto, the MCU's resident devil. This rumor stems from fan art that serfaced via Bosslogic. The second rumor has him playing a far less known cosmic being by the name of Gorr the God Butcher. This fan art comes via Reddit user ozycon. Yep that's all it really takes these day to get a rumor going on the Internet. The final rumor is really not based on anything other than wishful thinking and some secret source reported by a site no one has ever really heard of before. They report he will play the character Beta Ray Bill. Like I said it really doesn't take much these days to get a rumor circulating on the net. For a rumor that has been denied. Some were speculating the actor Jared Harris who showed up in the recent Morbius trailer might be playing the character Doctor Octopus. Variety caught up with him at the SAG awards to ask him, where he flat out denied it. https://variety.com/2020/film/news/morbius-doctor-octopus-spiderman-1203473505/?jwsource=cl So let us know what you think about these rumors in the comments below and feel free to share other rumors you might have come across. Again we aren't giving a whole lot of validity to any of this, but it's always fun to speculate.

  17. When EMPYRE #1 hits stores in April, it will be a culmination of decades worth of Marvel storytelling in an epic sci-fi tapestry that will delight both longtime comic fans and newcomers! Before the debut issue lands, two all-new essential one-shots will pave the way to this grand event: EMPYRE #0: AVENGERS and EMPYRE #0: FANTASTIC FOUR! This pair of stories will be written by the architects of EMPYRE themselves, Al Ewing and Dan Slott with art by Pepe Larraz and R.B. Silva! Fresh off their work on HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, these two superstar artists will once again complement eachother’s skills in mirroring stories! In Ewing and Larraz’s EMPYRE #0: AVENGERS, old allies have returned and the Avengers are called to the new Green Area of the Moon to help face a terrible enemy. And in Slott and Silva’s EMPYRE #0: FANTASTIC FOUR, the Fantastic Four will witness the final conflict of the Kree/Skrull War and meet a long hidden Elder of the Universe… the mysterious Profiteer! Both one-shots will lay the cosmic groundwork for Marvel’s next incredible saga and feature first appearances of major new players in the Marvel Universe! "EMPYRE starts with a bang - the Avengers and the Fantastic Four meeting a threat from two sides, with two different strategies - and these #0 issues will let set readers up to see how they got there,” says Ewing. “As the Avengers meet with old friends, and the Fantastic Four run into some brand new ones, both teams face some stark choices and a test of their character as a team. It's the best way to get inside the heads of the Avengers and the Fantastic Four before the main action begins." Check out the glorious connecting covers by iconic artist Jim Cheung below, and don’t miss the pivotal start to this legendary event this April in EMPYRE #0: AVENGERS and EMPYRE #0: FANTASTIC FOUR! 22. Well if characters like Dracula, Mummy, Frekenstein or Werewolf were to show up in the movies I think there would be less doubt but otherwise I certainly don't think it would be a sure thing Hasbro would do them even if they are available to do.
  23. IDK if I should find it a bit disturbing how focused some of you seemed to be on the breasts of a female action figure or not, but in all honesty the only one who should have any real problem if Hasbro has understated that area is Scarlett Johansson herself and if she is cool with it then I don't see it being a big deal.
  24. For the change part, that is natural. Unless your really really old, whatever version of X-Men you are most accustomed to is probably significantly different from a previous version. As for the forgotten part well I got no defense there. On a side note, I have been re-watching every episode of the original X-Men animated series starting with episode 1 on Disney+ and man I miss that series. It makes me miss that time period not only for the show itself but the comics most those episodes where based on. I also forgot about many of the random cameos the show had like War Machine and Punisher. I have the final two episodes of season 5 to watch. After that I plan to move on to Spider-Man.
