  1. It probably varies and obviously I don't know for sure but my guess is the bigger actors have enough pull they can maintain their individual likeness rights when they negotiate their contracts. That Hasbro figure didnt really look much like Bridges so they probably could get away with it then but now with the scanning tech they use I doubt that would be the case. As for Hot Toys they often seem to be able to get actor likeness rights where others fail. The Jack Nickolson Joker is a perfect example of that.
  2. They've done an Iron Monger figure before but an actual Jeff Bridges figure my guess would run into problems due to likeness rights. I think the same goes for figures based on other mega stars like Michael Douglas and Robert Redford and such.

  10. The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. (“21CF”) (NASDAQ: TFCFA, TFCF), in connection with Disney’s acquisition of 21CF (the “Acquisition”), announced today that the per share value of the Merger Consideration (as defined below) has been calculated in accordance with the Merger Agreement (as defined below) to be $51.572626 (the “Per Share Value”). The Acquisition will become effective at 12:02 a.m. Eastern Time tomorrow, March 20, 2019. At the effective time of the Acquisition, each share of 21CF common stock will be exchanged for $51.572626 in cash (the “Cash Consideration”) or 0.4517 shares of common stock of TWDC Holdco 613 Corp., the holding company that will own both Disney and 21CF following the Acquisition (“New Disney”) (the “Stock Consideration”, and together with the Cash Consideration, the ”Merger Consideration”), subject to election, proration and adjustment procedures set forth in the Amended and Restated Agreement and Plan of Merger(the “Merger Agreement”), dated as of June 20, 2018, by and among 21CF, Disney, New Disney, and certain of Disney’s other subsidiaries. The number of shares of New Disney common stock comprising the Stock Consideration was determined by dividing the Per Share Value by $114.1801, which was the volume weighted average trading price of a share of Disney common stock on the New York Stock Exchange over the fifteen consecutive trading day period ending on (and including) March 15, 2019. “This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us—one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “Combining Disney’s and 21st Century Fox’s wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the preeminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era.” The acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s iconic collection of businesses and franchises will allow Disney to provide more appealing high-quality content and entertainment options to meet growing consumer demand; increase its international footprint; and expand its direct-to-consumer offerings, which include ESPN+ for sports fans, the highly-anticipated Disney+ streaming video-on-demand service launching in late 2019; and Disney and 21st Century Fox’s combined ownership stake in Hulu. The acquisition includes 21st Century Fox’s renowned film production businesses, including Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Family and Fox Animation; Fox’s television creative units, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions and Fox21; FX Networks; National Geographic Partners; Fox Networks Group International; Star India; and Fox’s interests in Hulu, Tata Sky and Endemol Shine Group. Disney and 21st Century Fox entered into a consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice last year under which Disney will divest 21st Century Fox’s Regional Sports Networks. Earlier today, 21st Century Fox completed the spin-off of a portfolio of 21st Century Fox’s news, sports and broadcast businesses, including the FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX Broadcasting Company, FOX Sports, FOX Television Stations Group, and sports cable networks FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes and Big Ten Network, and certain other assets and liabilities, into Fox Corporation. Disney is also acquiring approximately $19.8 billion of cash and assuming approximately $19.2 billion of debt of 21st Century Fox in the acquisition. The acquisition price implies a total equity value of approximately $71 billion and a total transaction value of approximately $71 billion. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to Disney earnings per share before the impact of purchase accounting for the second fiscal year after the close of the transaction, and to yield at least $2 billion in cost synergies by 2021 from operating efficiencies realized through the combination of businesses.

  14. With the month of June comes great power comes great responsibility in the form SPIDER-MAN: REPTILIAN RAGE #1 from writer Ralph Macchio and artist Christopher Allen, with a cover by Todd Nauck! The web-slinging one-shot brings you a brand new Spider-Man adventure, told in the mighty Marvel manner! “Whether you know him from the comics, the films, the games, the animated series...this is a Spider-Man vs. the Lizard tale for you! The story is classic Spider-Man—and it’s peak Peter Parker,” teases editor Mark Basso. “Peter's got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to land an internship at ESU as a high schooler...but to take it, he's going to have to choose between helping himself as Peter or helping others as Spider-Man. It's hardly a choice for someone with his sense of responsibility, but Ralph Macchio and Chris Allen are going to keep you guessing how he's going to get out of this one.” Just in time for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, don’t miss Marvel’s SPIDER-MAN: REPTILIAN RAGE one-shot, coming to comic shops this June! 19. As to the topic of discussion. Those trying to bring politics into this seemingly do so to avoid the actual problem with what he said. Yes the reason why someone went and dug up these old comments originally was politically motivated but that doesn't change the fact of just how bad his comments where and why many people regardless of political affiliation were and still are offended by them. IMO Disney should have been aware of these comments before they ever hired him (and there are many indications they were) and should have found someone else for these movies to begin with to avoid this entire mess, but they didn't. Yes people do and say stupid things and can change, but there are certain things that become very hard to just write off as being young and ignorant or being said as a joke. I don't care how old you are, or what time period you grew up in, there are certain things that are just universally bad and unjustifiable and if you really take the time and read all his comments he made in public, I think they fit that bill. IDK in today's society the lines of right and wrong get blurred so badly and generally anyone can make an argument on social media for one side or the other. I see people refusing to believe that Michael Jackson did anything wrong, and I don't know exactly what happened at Neverland, but you could definitely see there were signs of something being very off there and yet people were and still are willing to look past it because there isn't 100% proof and they enjoy his music. Since Gunn has never been actually accused of rape or pedophilia let alone convicted I am not advocating his life should be destroyed, but I do think there are def signs of something being off there and someone like that should not be working on projects made primarily for kids.
  20. First this is a warning to all, name calling and telling people to shut up will not be tolerated here. If you can't conduct a discussion in a civilized manner without attacking others then do yourself a favor and just move on without posting. If you can't do that you will be asked to leave.
  21. Well after all the BS Gunn has been rehired by Disney to once again work on GOTG 3. He will also continue to work on the next DC Comics Suicide Squad movie for Warner Bros. So I guess everything worked out in Gunn's favor from all of this.
