  1. Hasbro today via Gamespot has announced a new line of 3.75" figures Hasbro is releasing under the Marvel Legends banner. These are Kenner like figures that they will be releasing in Marvel Comic Presents box--designed to look like an issue of the long-running comic book series. Two figures come in each pack, retailing for $20. The figures like the old Mattel Secret Wars line will have minimal articulation. They are doing 2-Pack with Captain America/Black Panther, Iron man/Cyclops and Spider-Man/Electro. Look for these to be released in the Fall. The figures will be going up for pre-order online on September 25 at 5 pm EST.

We kinda figured it was coming, but looks like Hasbro is going to be giving us the Marvel Legends 6" Hellfire Club Goon in the form of one of their army builder figures that cost $15 and ship in a mailer box. Harry found this one at Forbidden Planet in the UK, but here in the US it should be released as a HasbroPulse exclusive. Thanks to Ruben for the heads up.

  15. The 90's was a strange time for the Avengers as the X-Men and Spider-Man dominated the airwaves during much of that time with their cartoons on Fox. In the comics, the X-Titles as well as Spider-Man had all the hot artists on board like Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio, Eric Larsen and Todd McFarlane. Earth's Mightiest Heroes during that time seemed often to struggle to really find its footing in the Marvel Universe which in turn caused many iconic characters to go through some often drastic makeovers. Trends were started in the pages of X-Men like wearing leather jackets and having letters that represented your team featured on your outfits that soon carried over to the Avengers. Then, as the 90's began to come to a close, Marvel and the comic industry itself began experiencing extreme turmoil, and we ended up with things like Heroes Reborn. Still that time period brought us many interesting looks and outfits for the Avengers. Which begs the question, should Hasbro do more Avengers action figures from that time period? After all, Hasbro did give us a very 90's Black Widow figure last year in her grey outfit with the "A" sleeved leather jacket. Other notable Avengers characters who sported the leather jacket look included Eternals member Sersi who at the time wore a red and black outfit. Then there was The Black Knight who ditched the cape for the jacket and also started using a Lightsaber-type laser sword instead of his traditional Ebony Blade weapon. With the Eternals movie featuring both characters coming next year, I could even see Hasbro giving us a 2-pack of these two with their 90's looks. The Olympian God Hercules also switched up his look in the 90's, often sporting shoulder pads (another look made to be cool in the 90s) and shirts with the letter A featured on it. Speaking of Gods, another character who experienced some pretty drastic changes in the 90's was Thor. For a while the mantle of Thor was handed off to a human named Eric Masterson who gave us a subtle update to the classic Thor look. Eventually Masterson ended up giving Mjölnir back to its original owner and assumed the identity of Thunderstrike giving his own twist on the leather look. I would love to see Hasbro do both the Masterson Thor and Thunderstrike for the Marvel Legends line. Thor himself probably experienced one of his most drastic makeovers in the late 90's although it was very short-lived. It had all the classic traits of the 90's including leather, big shoulder pads, and chains. Another Avengers member fairly new to the team at the time was the Inhumans character Crystal. Not to be outdone by Black Widow and Sersi, she too soon dumped the traditional plain yellow costume look after joining and started sporting a white and black costume with the added Avengers leather jacket. Hank Pym, officially returned to the Avengers during this time with his Giant Man persona, and ditched the traditional mask in favor of Cable-like communication headgear and cyclops-like belt pouches. The hair sticking out of the top of the mask was also a look that became very popular in the 90s, especially if you had blonde hair. Fortunately Steve Rogers was spared that particular look, but Clint Barton couldn't say the same with his new Hawkeye outfit. Speaking of blonde hair characters, Quasar is another character from the 90s that Hasbro should definitely consider giving a Marvel Legends figure. The character first appeared back in 1979, but it wasn't until Wendell Vaughn picked up the mantle in his own title that first debuted in 1989. That, I think, is when the character really picked up steam. Captain America ended up taking Vaughn under his wing and bringing him onboard the Avengers for a short time. The 90's also saw Wanda Maximoff go through some pretty major changes as she separated from her android husband Vision, found out her children were not real, and was manipulated by the likes of both Kang and Magneto. During this time, Scarlet Witch sported a number of different looks but this one was probably my favorite. Of course, all eventually lead us to "No More Mutants". Not to be outdone by costume changes, Scarlet Witch's brother Quicksilver ditched his long standing blue outfit for a new one. In keeping with the look of his now separated wife Crystal's white and black look, Pietro began wearing a dark black and white outfit. Since we know how much Hasbro loves Iron Man, we should note that this time period is when Tony started wearing this very popular armor design featured in the 90's Iron Man animated series as well as done in figure form by Toy Biz. We have to imagine Hasbro will get around to doing it at some point. By the end of the 90's, almost all the Avengers had gotten costume make-overs. Some better than others, but we feel there is a lot of potential here for Hasbro to explore with new action figures. After all, Hasbro has been giving us the 90's versions of the X-Men. It only seems fair the Avengers get the same treatment, right???

  20. Hasbro looks to have decided to do their own virtual con called Hasbro Pulse Con where they will be revealing new products for Power Rangers, GIJoe, Star Wars, Transformers, Ghostbuster and Marvel. They also will be offering exclusives which will likely be the ones previously meant for SDCC this year. The event takes place on September 25-26. We should note that while it says the event is for for US & CAN fans only, we believe that is just referring to the selling of the exclusives which will take place on the HasbroPulse website. While Hasbro isn't really clear on how they will do reveals for this, I would guess it will be similar to other live-stream events that have been holding on their Pulse Facebook page where everyone can watch. If or when Hasbro decides to clarify this we will be sure to update you.

  23. Youtuber rektangular has posted a new video with some pretty interesting news for what possibly will be the first wave of Spider-Man themed Marvel Legends figures in 2021, as well as some new Fan-Channel exclusive single releases. I do want to point out that I have not personally had a chance to vet any of this information myself nor has it been confirmed by Hasbro. rektangular has developed a pretty decent track record for sniffing this stuff out which is why I am going on and sharing the information with you, but we will treat all of this as RUMOR for now. One thing to note however, at the beginning of his video he starts talking about the recent Best Of Avengers: Endgame figures. Those figures are overseas releases that have been out for some time now, and have nothing to do with Dwight's tease from the other week's video live-stream event when he held up what looked like a charred Thanos figure arm. Anyway, the interesting stuff talked about in this video is what looks to be the line-up for the first wave of 2021 Spider-Man themed Marvel Legends. rektangular has discovered a listing that suggest the wave will include the following figures: - Into The Spider-Verse movie based Miles Morales Spider-Man - Into The Spider-Verse movie based Peter B. Parker Spider-Man> - Into The Spider-Verse movie based Spider-Gwen - Into The Spider-Verse movie based Prowler - Marvel Comics Frog-Man - Marvel Comics Hand Ninja Hasbro back before they knew how successful the Into The Spider-Verse movie from Sony was going to be, gave us a pretty weak attempt at Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen in a Target exclusive 2-pack. Hopefully with these, they will be much more movie accurate. Also while I don't remember exactly where, I seem to recall Hasbro mentioning earlier this year that they would be revisiting the Into The Spider-Verse movie universe for the Marvel Legends line. Frog-Man is another very obscure Spidey villain that would be in keeping with the likes of other recent releases such as White Rabbit. The Hand Ninja might seem like an odd choice for a Spider-Man wave, but since Hasbro usually puts Daredevil related characters into these waves, it makes much more sense. Also I am sure Hasbro would later on re-release it as part of their HasbroPulse army-builder line. In the video rektangular speculates that Stilt-Man makes the most sense for the Build-A-Figure in the wave, and I totally agree with him. It was pretty apparent a Stilt-Man figure was being teased in a previous live-stream video by Hasbro, and he makes the most sense for a Spider-Man wave with his connections to Daredevil. - Stilt-Man Build-A-Figure rektangular has also discovered what looks to be additional Fan-Channel exclusives released on Spider-Man Retro cardbacks with the following figures - J. Jonah Jameson - Black Cat - Firestar with the dog Ms. Lion J. Jonah Jameson makes perfect sense for one of these types of releases since Hasbro already did a Jonah headsculpt back when they released the Chameleon figure. They will likely use that headsculpt and put it on the body of the Black Panther movie Ulysses Klaue figure. We've already gotten 2 versions of Black Cat fairly recently in the Marvel Legends line, so it's not terribly surprising they would push out a third one. Possibly some kind of slightly modified re-paint of the one they did in the Kingpin BAF wave. Firestar is one many fans of the original Spider-Man: And His Amazing Friends cartoon have been wanting for some time, so it's great to hear there is a strong possibility that it is finally on the way. It is a little surprising to see her released as a single release like this, but she will probably incorporate a lot of parts from some other previously released figure(s). We do hope they go with her classic look, and not one of the more modern ones. Ms. Lion which was the dog first featured in the Amazing Friends cartoon will be a nice additional touch. Besides rounding out the Amazing Friends team with Iceman and Spider-Man, this figure will also put folks one step closer to rounding out their original New Warriors team. So there you have it. As always until Hasbro officially confirms these which will hopefully be soon, we will treat all these as rumors. Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION which ones you are most excited for, and if you want you can watch rektangular's entire video here.
