1. Here is my custom of Gorgon. Probably the hardest custom I've done. Just getting his feet/hooves even and the figure to stand took a lot of work. Originally it was a Cottonmoth base with Nukes HEAD. Tons of sculpting later I came up with one of my favorites of the Royal Family. Your feedback is always welcomed and appreciated.
2. "You can't fix it ? UPGRADE IT !" These, were the words I had in mind after spending multiple hours trying to fix this old boy, unfortunately, it turned out being impossible... So, as an artist, I thought it was time for me to start something new, custom figures ! Ladies and gentlemen, let introduce you the cyborg Hobgoblin (1.7 version) ! The first step was (obviously) to make a new arm, by using some metal elements, I managed to build an arm with the same articulations as the original one ! The only difference is the elbow, not having a double articulation, but, bending at about 135 degrees which is definitely an improvement over the original arm ! For the hand, I reused the original one, I just had to remove the pumpkin bomb (which was super easy !). Later on, I decided to modify the wrist connection so that the hand can be easly removable, this little feature can act as a launching fist attack. One con I had with this figure is the satchel, the mold used doesn't looks good in my opinion because of the angle between the satchel and the lanner (being flat) I solved this con by cutting the lanner off and fixing it back with an articulation. Then, pilot goggles. Why ? Why not ?! Because this figure is pretty old, the knees articulations are wobbly, but I succeed to replace the pins and make the knees stronger. Even more cyborg I guess ^^ And now it's time for some accessories ! The first accessory I made for my cyborg is a katana, made from a nail with a scabbard made out of wood. I feel like this weapon is a little short compared to the figure but it looks nice so I don't really mind. Last but not least, I built a detonator to go with the pumpkin bomb. So, this it ! I hope you liked it, if you do have any feedback or suggestion, do not hesitate to comment this post (p.s. I already planned to work on the glider next). If you don't want to miss any update about this figure, do not hesitate to follow me on instagram at Cocoandpals. Thank you if you rode this post until the end and have a nice day.
3. I've added to my SOVIET SUPER SOLDIERS Here is VANGUARD Made from a Marvel Legends Wonder Man with sculpted costume and an old Wildcats cape. He holds the hammer and sickle, symbols of the once great SOVIET Empire (it may still be great but that just sounded good) The circles are all cut styrene and he is painted with Americana Acrylics. Lots of time and sweat went into this one. He stands on the shelf next to his sister Darkstar. Thanks for looking and any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks y'all!
4. White Phoenix of the crown One of my favorite versions of the Phoenix/Jean , for this figure in really wanted her to shine and glow so she's painted using a mix of flat white with a light glaze of pearl for her outfit, sculpted her new hair and used a mix of reds and orange with some intricate rose gold highlights to make it pop and have definition, hope you like 🙂
5. The base is one of the original ML Hydra troopers- once the new one came out I didn't have much use for the old troop builders- so the two I had donated their bodies to Red Skull and the Baron. Red skull was just a head swap and he had his classic look back. Baron took a little more work... I first wanted to use the baron head from the older Toybiz ML figure but it was too small for the body- i also didn't want to just put it on a new Hydra trooper because I think the Baron should stand out from the troops with his own look... But since I really wasn;t fond of the olf Baron ML figure anyways- I made a quick modern version with the left over Red Skull body... Arnim Zola got a minor update as well- I removed the 'cartoon' face he had and replaced it with a photograph of an action figure so it would not look out of place with the rest of the toys. something bout having his face 'drawn' onto his screen just wasn't working for me. Anyways- there is my new, mostly custom Hydra forces
