  1. According to The Wrap, Marvel Studios is looking for a Latino male actor in his 30s to lead the cast of an untitled Halloween Special that will air on Disney+. This Halloween special will begin production in early 2022 and the sources within say the character may be based on 'Werewolf By Night,' the name of two separate Marvel characters. Jack Russell, the first character starred in the series, 'Werewolf By Night' series that ended in 1977 after 42 issues. The character was created by Gerry Conway and Mike Ploog based on concepts by Stan Lee and Roy Thomas, and first appeared in a 1972 issue of 'Marvel Spotlight.' Russell is a descendant of the mystically altered offshoot of humans known as Lycanthropes, who eventually becomes capable of transforming on his own volition even without a full moon, and retaining his intellect while transformed. The second character, Jake Gomez, appeared last year in 'Werewolf By Night' (Vol. 3) #1. Created by the writing team of Taboo, Benjamin Jackendoff, and Scot Eaton, Gomez, a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy, comes in conflict with a nefarious pharmaceutical company exploiting members of the tribe. It's still too early to say which version of 'Werewolf By Night' serves as the backdrop for the TV special.
  2. According to Deadline Star Wars and Dune actor Oscar Isaac has been cast in the lead role for the upcoming Disney+ Moon Knight series.
  3. Marvel has released a first-look trailer for the eagerly anticipated standalone series "Loki," featuring Tom Hiddleston reprising the role. The six-episode limited series follows Loki after the events of Endgame as he finds himself imprisoned and interrogated by mysterious jailers. Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sasha Lane, Sophia Di Martino LoKi is set to premiere on Disney Plus sometime in May 2021.
  4. Just announced Black Widow has been pushed to a July 9 release date and will see release at both movie theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access which require additional fees. More details when the become available.
  5. Variety is reporting that they have confirmed with sources that the 'She-Hulk' series at Disney Plus has cast Jameela Jamil in the role of Titania, a Marvel supervillain with incredible strength and a frequent rival of She-Hulk. The series centers on lawyer Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), cousin of Bruce Banner, who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control. Jamil joins Maslany and previously announced cast members Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Tim Roth. Mark Ruffalo will also reprise the role of Bruce Banner in the series. The pilot and additional episodes are being directed and executive produced by Kat Coiro. Jessica Gao is head writer for the series and serves as executive producer.
  6. According to Deadline, Christopher McDonald is joining Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in Secret Invasion, the upcoming Marvel series for Disney+. Sources state that details about McDonalds role is being kept quiet but they know it's a newly created character that could cross over to the larger MCU, including appearing in movies and other Disney+ limited series. In Secret Invasion, Jackson and Mendelsohn reprise their MCU characters Nick Fury and the Skrull Talos, respectively, who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years. The cast of Secret Invasion is expected to also include Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Killian Scott.
  7. Images for what appears to be some kind of portrait featuring promotional artwork for the upcoming Disney+ MCU animated series has hit the internet. Since it looks pretty dead-on to what we've seen in the trailer I am going to assume this is legit though I don't know where it was found or who took the image. It may have been found somewhere overseas. We previously told you how the second wave of Disney+ Marvel Legends figures coming later this year should contain at least 6 figures based on the new animated show. We know one of the 7 regular figures in the wave will be based on Loki and we have no indication on what show the Build-A-Figure from this wave will be based on. Disney+ Wave 2 – August 2021 F0167 – Assortment UPC: 5010993791385 Wave 2 – Unknown (BaF) • F0329 – “What If?” Figure 8 – 501099379724 • F0330 – “What If?” Figure 9 – 501099379729 • F0331 – “What If?” Figure 10 – 501099379727 • F0332 – “What If?” Figure 11 – 501099379725 • F0333 – “What If?” Figure 12 – 501099379726 • F0334 – “What If?” Figure 13 – 501099379728 • F1097 – “Loki” Figure 14 – 501099379723 In the promotional artwork we see Peggy Carter as Captain UK. That's what I am calling her for now, but don't know what her official designation here is gong to be. Based on the trailers it looks like one of the stories will show us What If Peggy had gotten the Super Soldier Surem during WWII instead of Steve Rogers. I would say the chances of this one making the wave are very high. We see T'Challa as Star-Lord. Again from the trailer it looks like when Yondu comes to Earth to collect Peter Quill as a kid, he instead takes T'Challa who then becomes Star-Lord and likely leads the Guardians of the Galaxy. Since Killmoger is featured in the artwork, my guess with T'Challa's absence from Earth he ends up becoming Black Panther. I would say at least T'Challa as Star-Lord has a good chance of getting a figure in this wave. Dr. Strange, Gamora, Thor and the one who I believe is Black Widow in the bottom left corner all look pretty much like they have in the MCU, so I don't know if any of them would be up for figures in this wave. Black Widow is looking pretty buff, so I don't know if that means perhaps she gets some Super Soldier Serum as well or what. I suppose this could be a good opportunity to give us an updated Thor 1 movie figure, which is what the design seen here seems to be based on. Finally we have The Watcher, who is a cosmic being tasked with observing events as they play out in the Multiverse. Could he be the Build-A-Figure for the wave? In the trailer we also saw some kind of Zombie Captain America which I think has a good shot at getting the figure treatment in this wave. As previously reported, there is also a new Mega Deluxe $50 Marvel Legends figure coming from Hasbro this year based on the What If animated series. Marvel Legends Deluxe figure #f2992 - $50 While not shown in this new promotional artwork, I have a feeling that one will be based on the Iron Man Mark I suit being used by a non-super soldier Steve Rogers, again something seen in the trailer for the show. I have also seen indications there will be a LEGO set released based on this one. Other than having a very solid indication that "What If" themed Marvel Legends are coming this year, I don't have any solid info at this time on what exact figures we will see, so this is all primarily just speculation based on things seen in the trailer and now this new promotional artwork. Only time will tell what actual figures we will get. The What If series is said to air on Disney+ sometime this summer.
  8. Sources from within have informed Variety that film, TV and music star Hailee Steinfeld has been offered a lead role in the upcoming “Hawkeye” limited series at Disney Plus. Steinfeld will play the role of Kate Bishop if accepted. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Clint Barton. She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers. Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role of titular bow-wielding hero that he has played through multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most recently in “Avengers: Endgame.” Steinfeld's film credits include starring in films such as “The Edge of Seventeen,” “Bumblebee,” the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, and for lending her voice to the Oscar-winning animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
  9. Variety is reporting that Chinaka Hodge has been tapped as the head writer for the upcoming Disney+ live-action Ironheart series which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. Hodge has worked on shows such as the Apple reboot “Amazing Stories,” and TNT “Snowpiercer” series. No word yet on when the Ironheart is slated to air on Disney+.
  10. A new trailer for the Disney+ Falcon And The Winter Soldier series aired during the Super Bowl, and along with it we got the premier date which is March 19.

  12. The Walt Disney Company (DIS) and Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today announced a multi-year content licensing agreement for U.S. streaming and TV rights to Sony Pictures’ new theatrical releases across Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution’s vast portfolio of platforms including its streaming services Disney+ and Hulu, as well as linear entertainment networks including ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. The deal covers theatrical releases from 2022-2026 and begins for each film following its Pay 1 TV window. The agreement builds upon the companies’ prior arrangement which saw SPE movies licensed to FX in the post-Pay 1 TV window. The deal also grants rights to a significant number of SPE’s iconic library titles, ranging from the “Jumanji” and “Hotel Transylvania” franchises to Sony Pictures’ Universe of Marvel Characters films, including Spider-Man. This gives Disney enormous programming potential across its platforms and makes them key destinations for a robust collection of Spider-Man films. Notably, the agreement provides Hulu access to a significant number of library titles beginning as early as this June. “This groundbreaking agreement reconfirms the unique and enduring value of our movies to film lovers and the platforms and networks that serve them,” said Keith Le Goy, president, Worldwide Distribution and Networks, Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We are thrilled to team up with Disney on delivering our titles to their viewers and subscribers. This agreement cements a key piece of our film distribution strategy, which is to maximize the value of each of our films, by making them available to consumers across all windows with a wide range of key partners.” Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
  13. Earlier this week we got our first look at the first merchandise being done for the upcoming Disney+ Falcon and the Winter Soldier series with Hasbro's Marvel Legends prop replica Captain America shield. Well now thanks to MCUCollector and vintage.man02 we have a look at new Walgreens exclusive Marvel Minimates based on the upcoming show. These apparently were actual found on shelf even though Diamond Select Toys has yet to officially announce them. There are two 2-pack which feature Falcon with Baron Zemo and Winter Soldier with USAgent. Now here is where the minor SPOILER comes in. The USAgent figure is actually labeled as Captain America . This seemingly confirms the rumors that in the Disney+ series will see John Walker AKA USagent, at least temporarily take over the mantle of Captain America. This isn't terribly surprising if you are familiar with Walker's story from the comics. In the comics the US Government for a time stripped Steve Rogers of the Captain America title because they felt they couldn't control him and gave it to Walker. Eventually Rogers regained the Captain America mantle and Walker became USAgent. At the end of Avengers Endgame, we saw an old Rogers hand the Captain America mantle over to Sam Wilson, so likely the Government will strip him of the mantle and give it to Walker. Again, at least for a while. This likely explains why Walker's costume is blue as opposed to black. Hopefully when Walker actually becomes USAgent, which we are confident he will, they will change the color of his costume from blue to black. With Minimates based on the series already hitting shelves, could Marvel Legends figures be far behind????
  14. Revealed today via Marvel is our first official look for the upcoming Marvel Legends 6" Baron Zemo figure from Hasbro. Last week we saw the Walmart exclusive John Walker Captain America figure revealed which is still available for pre-order. Zemo is part of the regular wave of Disney+ Marvel Legends figures that will feature figures of Winter Soldier, John Walker, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Loki from the upcoming Loki series. This wave will have a build-a-item as opposed to a Build-A-Figure which will be Falcon's wings. We saw official images for Scarlet Witch and Vision revealed a few weeks ago and images for Walker, Winter Soldier and this Zemo leaked out the other week. You can check those out here, but caution for SPOILERS from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series. Check out the new images below.

Marvel Studio declined comment when questioned by sources.

They are releasing Wanda and Vision in their Halloween costumes as regular releases. Then as a Funko Shop exclusive they are doing Quicksilver. Look for these to be released in March.
  20. Actor Don Cheadle who plays War Machine/Jim Rhodes in the MCU movies recently told brobible.com in an interview that he will be making an appearance in the upcoming Disney+ Falcon and The Winter Soldier series which will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier). It was announced late last year that Cheadle will be starring in his own MCU Disney+ series called "Armor Wars".
  21. It's being reported by Variety that a new Wakanda based series is in the works for Disney+. The series is part of a multi-year television deal between Disney and Ryan Coogler along with his Proximity Media company . 23. Marvel has released the first official trailer for "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," featuring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as their respective superhero roles. The limited series, will also see the return of Emily VanCamp as secret agent Sharon Carter. Wyatt Russell will also appear as Captain America's warmongering successor, U.S. agent John Walker. Daniel Bruhl is also back as Sokovian terrorist Baron Helmut Zemo. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to premiere on March 19th, 2021 on Disney Plus.
  24. WARNING: This story contains A BIG SPOILER for the upcoming Disney+ Falcon And the Winter Soldier series. Reader JTPrime alerts us to this image (Click this link to see the image) he discovered on the Korean website Safetykorea.kr. The website from what I can tell is one that collects, manages and distributes information in regards to the safety of products in that country. In other words they check to make sure things like toys are safe for children to play with. Any way the image shows what appears to be an upcoming Titan Hero Falcon figure from Hasbro based on the upcoming Disney+ Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. The Falcon figure and the image on the front of the package shows him wearing an outfit very similar to the one the character wore in the comics when he temporarily assumed the role of Captain America. If it wasn't for the image of actor Anthony Mackie wearing the outfit on the packaging, I would almost say this was just a comic book based figure shipping in packaging from the show. That's how much the outfit on this figure looks to the one seen in the comics. Many have suspected that the MCU Falcon would at some point during the Disney+ show assume the actual mantel of Captain America beyond just using the shield he got in Avengers: Endgame, but this is the most proof to date of that happening we have seen. Of course with the recent news breaking that Chris Evans will likely be soon returning to the MCU, one has to wonder how long will it before Sam Wilson passes the mantel back to Steve Rogers. Check out the first trailer to the show if you haven't already.
  25. Today, Marvel Entertainment announced a brand-new documentary special, Marvel’s Behind the Mask, will debut February 12 exclusively on Disney+! Marvel’s Behind the Mask will explore the power of identity behind the world’s most iconic super heroes we know and love today. From the very inception of comic books, secret identities have been an integral part of both super heroes and villains leading “normal” lives. But it’s the characters beneath that resonate within us across generations of fans. Since the advent of the Marvel Age of Comics in the early 1960s, Marvel’s writers and artists have used the notion of identities to examine the evolving concept of equal rights. These legendary Marvel creations and stories have not only reflected the world outside our window – they have become a reflection of our own identities and who we truly are. Marvel’s Behind the Mask will feature guests from across Marvel’s 80-year legacy, including the writers and artists behind the rise of characters like Black Panther, Miles Morales, Ms. Marvel, Luke Cage, the X-Men, Captain Marvel, and many other characters in the Marvel Universe, highlighting Marvel’s impact on pop culture and media. Marvel’s Behind the Mask is produced by Marvel New Media with Tarmac Creative. The film is directed by Michael Jacobs and produced by Chris Gary and Ryan Simon for Tarmac Creative and Strike Anywhere. Joe Quesada, Shane Rahmani, Stephen Wacker, John Cerilli, Harry Go, and Sarah Amos serve as Executive Producers for Marvel.
