  1. Not sure who first leaked these images out on the net today, but I saw DisFunko post them up on Twitter. These were supposed to be tomorrow's Marvel Monday reveal (The first Monday of every month Hasbro makes a new Marvel Legends reveal), but now that the cat is out of the bag we are gonna show em to you. All the figures in this wave had been previously revealed by Hasbro, except for Pirate Deadpool and Shiklah which we actually told you about were likely coming before. The other figures in the wave include Black Tom Cassidy, Sunspot, Warpath, X-Men Deadpool, and Maverick. The Build-A-Figure is the X-Factor Strong Guy. Look for this wave to be up for pre-order online by tomorrow afternoon.
  2. erivera94 takes a look at the new Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends 6" Gwen Stacy figure from Hasbro. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor Megalopolis.Toys. Check out images for this figure below in our GALLERY and be sure to share your own thoughts about it in the COMMENTS SECTION.
  3. erivera94 takes a look at the new Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends 6" Spider-Man figure from Hasbro. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor Megalopolis.Toys. Check out images for this figure below in our GALLERY and be sure to share your own thoughts about it in the COMMENTS SECTION.
  4. erivera94 takes a look at the new Spider-Man Retro Marvel Legends 6" Armored Daredevil figure from Hasbro. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor Megalopolis.Toys. Check out images for this figure below in our GALLERY and be sure to share your own thoughts about it in the COMMENTS SECTION.
  5. Back in February it was revealed by Hasbro that we would be getting a Nimrod figure this year. While they clearly stated that Nimrod would NOT be released as a Build-A-Figure, but were scarce on the details of just how the figure would see release. Now thanks to Amazon France we have a clue to that mystery. On the site they are listing a Marvel Legends 3-Pack featuring figures of Nimrod, Psylocke and Fantomex. So it's probably safe to assume the Nimrod figure listed is the same one we saw at Toy Fair. It's still unclear however, what exact versions of Psylocke and Fantomex we will be getting. The Nimrod figure is based on the designs seen in the recent Power Of X/House Of X Marvel Comics storyline, so will the Pyslocke and Fantomex figures follow along those same lines? If so that leaves a couple of different options for the Psylocke figure. In the comics Elizabeth Braddock who was the original Psylocke, is now the new Captain Britain. And the name Psylocke is now being used by the character formerly known as Kwannon. So conceivably we could get a figure of either of these two versions. Of course Hasbro could be cheap and just re-issue the recent Jim Lee style Psylocke figure they put out in 2018. It might even have X-Force paint apps since her and Fantomex served together on that team for awhile. As for Fantomex, I don't know if his look has drastically changed much over the years. Hasbro did a Marvel Legends figure of him some time back, but he could definitely use an update. The character is also slated with a one-shot comic due out in May. So we still have some questions needing answers for this and of course until Hasbro officially announces this, we will treat it as rumor.
  6. UPDATE 2: News and reveals from the Hasbro Fan First Live Stream Event: Hasbro gave us a new looks at Nimrod, Rogue and Old Man Hawkeye with the new seemless technology. They are still not giving release details for Nimrod which is rumored to be released in a 3-pack with a Psylock and Phontomx. The Rogue also has the seemless oun technolgy and will have an alternate head. They teased a foot for what looks like a Sebastian Shaw figure. Moon Knight will go up for pre-order on the Walgreens around 3:30pm today and there will be a special link which will be available later today. The new Retro Fan-Channel Mysterio will have a new translucent headsculpt. They showed the Deluxe War Machine and Apocalypse from Age of Apocalypse. Both figures will be available for pre-order online at 1:30pm ET. They showed the Retro Spider-Man wave first revealed at Toy Fair. As previously rumored this wave will include figures of Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Green Goblin, Electro, and Daredevil. These will come on cardbacks that pay tribute to the old 5" Toy Biz Spider-Man Animated Series line. The Green Goblin has a new Toy Biz like masked and unmasked Osborn head, Daredevil is wearing his armored costume from the 90's and Electro has his classic outfit and alternate hands. The other three figures we saw at Toy Fair. The Spider-Man figure is a newly sculpted figure with better articulation. The Goblin glider has been modified so the stand from the Demogoblin will work with it. Eternals wave has been pushed has been delayed but the Venom wave with Venomized figures are still coming out this year. Build-A-Figures are not going away. More boxsets coming like the Alpha Flight. Hasbro has two SDCC exclusive, big year for X-Men and fans for both movies and comics will be happy and details on how they will be released coming soon. Look for more Retro figures with single releases this year. Look for new Into The Spider-Verse figures coming from Hasbro. They are working figures for the House of X and Powers Of X crossover. Besides the AIM Soldier Army Builder that is a Hasbro Pulse exclusive, they also said another army builder figure is in the works that will be new, not a re-release Biggest role play coming and biggest BAF coming in 2021. Not sure if the BAF tease is in reference to the Haslab Sentinel. Dwight teased us by showing a leg from what is likely the Haslab Sentinel. END UPDATE UPDATED: These were set to be revealed later today during Hasbro's Fan Friday first event, but SD Distributors apparently jumped the gun and already released the images. Shown below in our GALLERY is the full upcoming Retro Spider-Man wave first revealed at Toy Fair. As previously rumored this wave will include figures of Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Green Goblin, Electro, and Daredevil. These will come on cardbacks that pay tribute to the old 5" Toy Biz Spider-Man Animated Series line. Green Goblin has a new unmasked Osborn head, Daredevil is wearing his armored costume from the 90's and Electro has his classic outfit and alternate hands. The other three figures we saw at Toy Fair. We also have official images for the upcoming Deluxe War Machine and Age Of Apocalypse, Apocalypse figure showing off all their various accessories as well as a new Moon Knight which here in the US should be released at Walgreens and an army builder AIM Soldier. The AIM Soldier we assume will be a Hasbro Pulse exclusive similar to the Hydra Soldier the previously released there. Most if not all these figures should be going up for pre-order this afternoon by 1:30pm ET. Thanks to JTPrime for the heads up about the images being released early. END UPDATE: Hasbro will be making some Marvel Legends reveals next Friday during their weekly Fan First Friday series. This of course is different from the Fan-Channel reveals that get made on the first Monday of each month. We can't say what the reveals will be, but we think it will be worth tuning in for. Once the announcements are made we should have hi-res images and specific details to be able to share with you right here, so be sure to check it out and let us know what you hope to see next week.
  7. When it comes to Marvel, Todd McFarlane is probably best known for his work on the Spider-Man comics. In the 90's he played a large role in revitalizing the character and even launched a new title for the character that he did both the writing and art for. Spider-Man however wasn't the only Marvel title he worked on or the only Marvel character he drew. Incredible Hulk was actually the first title for Marvel he began doing a regular stint on from 1987 to 1988, working with writer legendary writer Peter David. Over the years McFarlane showed us his version of many Marvel based characters including the X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and of course Venom that he helped create. Since those early days, McFarlane has gone on to do a lot in the industry including being a founding member of Image Comics as well as launching his own Toy Company called McFarlane Toys. In the past year McFarlane even secured the rights from Warner Bros. to produce DC Comic based action figures, another comic book company he did art for back in the 80's and 90's. Just today McFarlane posted on his Instagram this image featuring art he did of Wolverine. With the art he posted the following: Now Todd can wish all he wants. but I don't think there is much chance McFarlane Toys could take the Marvel toy license from Hasbro. However, WHAT IF Hasbro did a sub-line of Artist Inspired Marvel Legends figures specifically based on McFarlane's art? Perhaps they could even bring Todd himself, independent from his company as a consultant for the sub-line? Let us know what you think in the COMMENTS SECTION. Would you like Hasbro do comic book artist inspired Marvel Legends figures, and besides McFarlane, which artists and their work would you like to see turned into action figures?
  8. This is a rumor that has actually been floating around on the net for a while now, so I don't really consider this major breaking news. However I can tell you that I now have been able to confirm this is happening by multiple sources. Of course until Hasbro officially confirms it, which will likely happen this weekend at Toy Fair, we will still consider it a rumor. So the wave is labeled as a 6" Spider-Man Retro wave. I assume this means the figures will come on cardbacks that pay tribute to the original Toy Biz 5" Spider-Man line which was released during the time of the 90's Spider-Man animated series on Fox. The wave will figures of Daredevil, Electro, Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, and of course Spider-Man.
  9. ReedPOP has now officially canceled their UK based MCM Comic Con Conventions for this summer season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The MCM Comic Con London in recent years has been one of the conventions Hasbro was attending to reveal new product. Here is the official statement:
  10. Perhaps my favorite look and possibly the most unique looking of the primary suits worn by Tony Stark, is the Silver Centurion Iron Man armor. The darker red and silver colors were a vast departure from the typical gold and red armor normally worn by the character. The suit first appeared back in 1985 in Iron Man #200. Besides looking very different from previous armors in both colors and design, the debut of this armor also marked the long return of Tony Stark as Iron Man. 2 years earlier in Iron Man #169, Stark gave up being Iron Man due to his struggles with alcohol and handed the reins over to his best friend James Rhodes. Rhodes was the man behind the helmet for such major events as the first Secret Wars and became one of the founding members of the West Coast Avengers. Stark had actually created the Silver Centurion armor for Rhodes, but ended up having to don the suit himself after Rhodes was critically injured at the hands of Obadiah Stane and Stan's Iron Monger armor. Stane and the Iron Monger armor of course later appeared in the first Iron Man movie. Stark continued wearing the red and silver armor for around 3 years, in both the Iron Man and West Coast Avengers comics. Eventually the suit was badly damaged in issue #230 at the hands of another armored character known as Firepower. This was during the classic "The Armor Wars" storyline where Stark also took on former ally Steve Rogers, who at the time wore the USAgent costume and was going by the name of The Captain. The shield Rogers used during that time was actually created by Stark and only contained Vibranium. After the events of "The Armor Wars" and his battle with Firepower in issue #230, Stark faked Iron Man's death and created a new armor and persona for the armored Avenger. At the time Stark's identity as Iron Man was a secret. The new armor while pretty cool in design returned to the traditional gold and red colors. Over the years we have gotten a few action figures based on the comic book version of the Silver Centurion armor. Toy Biz gave us a very cool 6" Marvel Legends version, which featured a removable faceplate and a giant rocket space pack that also acted as a display stand. While Hasbro has yet to give us a 6" version, they did give us a 3.75" version in their Iron Man 2 line, and then again in their Marvel Universe line as part of their comic 2-pack assortment. We have also seen variations of the Silver Centurion from the movies and Armored Adventures done as figures, but those weren't comic book accurate. So when will Hasbro give us a modern 6" Marvel Legends figure based on the Silver Centurion armor from the comics? Well if rumors and computer listings are to be believed, the answer should be sometime later this year, likely released as a Walgreens exclusive. Whether this will be a retooled figure based on one of the more recent Iron Man figures Hasbro has released, or a completely new sculpt remains to be seen, but I have high hopes it will look good either way. The Walgreens's exclusive Iron Man 2020 figure is hitting shelves now, and we know Hasbro also has a new War Machine figure slated for release later this year as a deluxe figure. My guess is, we will see the Silver Centurion announced around July with a later in the year release date. Until then check out this cool custom 6" Silver Centurion Iron Man figure done by Lokoboys. Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION, will a Silver Centurion Iron Man Marvel Legends figure be a must buy purchase for you?
  11. Toy Biz was the first company to really successfully implement the Build-A-Figure concept with their 6” Marvel Legends line, where pieces of a larger character based figure would be included with a number of individually packaged normal sized figures. The idea was two-fold. It gave people more incentive to purchase all the figures in a wave so they could complete the larger figure, hence increasing sales for a company. It also allowed larger based characters to be released, that might not otherwise be feasible to do because of packaging restraints, allocated retail shelf space and price. In the beginning we were treated to building sized characters such as Galactus, Giant Apocalypse and the Sentinels. Overtime the Build-A-Figures were shrunk down so they were usually still larger than a regular figures, but not super big. We got the likes Onslaught, Modok, Mojo and many others. The Build-A-Figure concept became so popular and successful, that many other toy companies started implementing similar type figures in their own action figure lines. In recent years however, we have started to see a new trend emerge from Hasbro, who of course took over Marvel Legends and the Build-A-Figure concept from Toy Biz years ago. More and more we are seeing the Build-A-Figure being reissued, completely assembled and in it’s own packaging. These figures are usually sold as a more expensive deluxe figures. Some of of these deluxe figures are primarily just re-paints, while others incorporate more sculpting modifications, which allow them to offered as an almost completely new figures. This new trend of course has been received with mixed reactions from the collectors. Some view it as an easier way to obtain the larger characters, since they no longer need to buy the individual figures in a wave. Others who purchased the full waves in order to complete the Build-A-Figure, feel a bit taken advantage of with Hasbro now re-releasing them individually, especially the ones with only slight modifications. Some argue that Hasbro should do away with the Build-A-Figure completely, and just release the larger characters as deluxe figures. The downside too that is, Hasbro would likely see a decline in sales for certain individual characters released in a wave, especially those more obscure characters that many aren’t as familiar with. Hence making it less likely they will continue to release those more obscure guys. Even the variety of larger scale characters might become more limited, as retailers would likely only want to carry the well known characters. While it can sometimes be a pain to buy a figure you really don’t want, in order to complete that Build-A-Figure you do want, I think the pro’s of the concept still out weight the con’s of it. As for the deluxe figures, I think its better when the figure has significant modifications to it, but even in the case of the recently announced Kingpin repaint that only has slight modifications to it, I like we are getting a second one so we can use one of the bodies with the Shadow King head sculpt that Hasbro released with the Professor X figure. Now we get to have both Kingpin and Shadow King on our shelves without having to purchase two Build-A-Figures. Let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION. Should Hasbro continue with Build-A-Figures, go with just deluxe figures or continue to do both?
  12. Jtprime17 sends us word of a new listing for what appears to be some type of Marvel Legends Deadpool role-play item coming from Hasbro. The listing reads as follows: E69810000 MATERIAL DESC MVL DEADPOOL L EGENDS ROLE PLAY QUANTITY 2190 MVL DEADPOOL PREMIUM FAN Our initial thought would be something like Deadpool's swords, but that seems more unlikely when you consider how difficult it would be to do realistic looking swords that meet safety regulations. You would run into similar problems with any kind of gun Deadpool might use as well. A mask is another option, but generally they only do role-play stuff for the masks that are helmets, not something that would be spandex or rubber. Whatever it is, it looks like it will ship 2 per case. Of course this listing isn't confirmed by Hasbro so we will treat it as rumor until we get more details.
  13. I almost forgot to post about these since Hasbro didn't even mention them during their Toy Fair presentation, and they were tucked away in the back with the kids stuff of the showroom. It was really just luck I kinda stumbled upon them. For those interested in 4" scale, it looks like Hasbro is going to release a wave of Avengers video game based figures. Definitely not classic Marvel Universe caliber, but I would say on par with the likes of the new Spin Master DC figures. They will come packaged in Gamerverse window boxes. There is also a Captain America and A Hulk/Abomination 2-pack I must of missed taking pictures of. My initial reaction when I saw them was that I wasn't terribly impressed. Looking at them here, some do look better than I initially thought. Still this seems more geared for the kids than anything.

  17. I don’t know what it’s been like for you these past several weeks. For me, I have been stuck in my house with a COVID-19 pandemic shelter in place rule in place, leaving only for a supply run to the corner grocery or taking my dog for a walk. My access to new action figures (assuming any are available on local shelves) has been greatly restricted. I still have access to shopping online for my plastic fix at places like BBTS, but the recent events really have me thinking about what the future holds for action figures and how things might change long-term. Obviously, with many under the same type of shelter in place restrictions, I am sure several will turn to more online shopping, at least in the immediate future. With that in mind, WHAT IF a company like Hasbro started shaping how they release figures based more on the online delivery channels? In particular, I was looking at their recent Marvel Legends Hydra Soldier army builder figure. The single-packed figure with a few accessories shipped in a mailer-type box with some artwork on it and only cost $14.99. The packaging is what intrigues me the most about this figure. Not only does it meet the new non-plastic standards Hasbro is said to be implementing soon for all of its brands, the box also is simple and (I assume) cheaper than the regular Marvel Legends packaging. If most people move to buying their figures online, there is no longer a real need to have the figure visible in the package and the artwork makes it nice if you don’t want to open it. Now, I don’t see Hasbro as able to lower the price of their Marvel Legends figures across the board to $14.99. Keep in mind the Hydra figure had already been released multiple times, so Hasbro likely already earned the return on their investment in the sculpt. If this was a brand new figure, I doubt they would be able to sell it as cheaply, even with cheaper packaging. You hear over and over in the media that this is the new norm, and I don’t really know what that means for the long-term. I certainly don’t see people fully giving up shopping at physical stores. I do think there will be a significant shift to more online activity, including shopping, even after the immediate crisis subsides. So maybe shifting the focus on how one sells their products isn’t such a bad idea?
