  1. In what seems like a last minute addition to Hasbro's Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years anniversary Marvel Legends line from Hasbro comes this repaint of the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie 6" Ultron Build-A-Figure. The figure comes in the same style of packaging we have seen for all the MCU Anniversary figures with the red and black box that has a bio for both the character and the movie the character is based on. This is the second figure we've gotten in this line for Age Of Ultron. The first was the Target exclusive Hulkbuster vs Hulk 2-Pack. The box also has the same kind of movie artwork on the side as the other figures in this line, however I can't say if it fits in with the art collage that can be created with the others. It is very similar to the art work featured on the Target 2-pack but not identical. The figure itself is a straight up repaint as the original Ultron Build-A-figure, and like with that one this figure does not feature any accessories. The only difference between this figure and the original is that this one has a superior paint job. The metallic metal parts have a much more cohesive look to it than the original version and the red markings are a bit more distinct as well, especially with the head. While the figure does look better than the original due to the paint, I am not sure that is enough to warrant getting this figure again if you already have the original, especially since this new figure costs $25 at retail. I guess it just depends on how big of a fan your are of Ultron or if your just a completest and want to have all the figures in this Marvel Legends sub-line. The figure has started to hit Best Buy stores and is currently available for pre-order at places like Megalopolis.Toys. Check out images for the figure below in our GALLERY!
  2. The Walt Disney Company’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service will be called Disney+. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed the service’s name today during a live audio webcast of Disney’s fiscal full year and fourth quarter 2018 financial results. Disney+ is scheduled to launch in the U.S. in late 2019. Iger also announced that Lucasfilm is in development on a second Star Wars live-action series for Disney+ that will go into production next year. The series will follow the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.” The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series will be announced at a later date. Disney+ is also assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston. The new projects join an impressive slate of films and series planned for Disney+ that includes new stories set in the worlds of Disney•Pixar’s Monsters Inc. and Disney Channel’s High School Musical, as well as a galaxy far, far away. Earlier this year, Lucasfilm revealed that Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau will write and executive produce The Mandalorian for Disney+. The live-action series, which is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, is currently in production with a lineup of directors that include Deborah Chow (Marvel’s Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Taika Waititi (Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok).
  3. Looks like Spidey is going to be getting another suit upgrade for Spider-Man: Far From Home. A new set video has shown up online showing a suit that maybe incorporates some attributes from the recent PS4 Spider-Man game. Most notably is the white spider symbol on his back and the suit seems to feature darker blue colors than his previous Homecoming suit did. Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first MCU movie to take place after the events of Avngers 4 and will open in theaters on July 5, 2019.
  4. Images and video from the set of Sony's upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home have hit social media that give us our first look at actor Jake Gyllenhaal in costume as the Spider-Man villain Mysterio who in the comics is known for being a master of illusion. Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first MCU movie to take place after the events of Avngers 4 and will open in theaters on July 5, 2019. See full story here: https://marvelousnews.com/266-23801

  6. Hasbro's Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years Iron Man 3 Pepper Potts, Iron Man Mark XXII, and The Mandarin 3-pack looks to have been delayed again here in the United States. The set originally was supposed to be released as a Toys R' Us exclusive until the retailer went out of business. It was later picked up as an Amazon.com exclusive and was supposed to start shipping on September 15. Now Amazon has sent out word that the set has been delayed and has given a fairly vague release date of shipping sometime between Monday, October 15, 2018 - Monday, November 12, 2018. The set is still up for pre-order on the website.
  7. The first full trailer for Captain Marvel which stars Brie Larson debuted this morning on ABC's Good Morning America and now it's been released online. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.
  8. UPDATE: More images have been revealed including our first look at the Skrulls, Carol and the Kree in the green suits, Ronan and Nick Fury with both eyes. Marvel Studios has released the first official look via Entertainment Weekly of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel for the upcoming movie of the same name. According to EW, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will already have her powers when the movie starts and that she will be taking on the shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls. Actor Ben Mendelsohn will play the Skrull leader Talos. Most of the movie will take place in the mid-90's before the events of the first Iron Man movie. A younger Nick Fury played by Samuel L. Jackson will be there and apparently have both eyes, at least to start out. This is the first Marvel MCU solo movie to focus on a female hero and will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019
  9. The final Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years Marvel Legends figure set announced by Hasbro during Toy Fair has finally arrived here in the United States. Being released as a Walmart exclusive here, this set features Tony Stark and Iron Man Mark I from the first Iron Man movie. You can purchase it on the Walmart website now. Technically I guess the previous TRU 3-Pack with Pepper has yet to be released in the US. Its now going to be available on Amazon and will be released on September 15. Unlike the Iron Man Mark VII figure released in the line, the Mark I offered here is a straight up reuse from the mold used in Hasbro's original 6" Iron Man movie line. The Tony Stark also reuses the Chameleon body mold and the old Tony Stark head that has been previously released.
  10. Best Buy has the new Marvel Studios First 10 Years Avengers Age Of Ultron 6" Marvel Legends Ultron listed online. The figure isn't currently available for home delivery but you can buy it online for store pick-up. The figure was originally said during SDCC to be exclusive to Entertainment Earth and Gamestop stores, but I guess Best Buy decided to get in on the action. They also have the Marvel Legends AIM 2-Pack listed on the site but is currently listed as sold out.

  16. The votes are in and according to THR, both Disney and Fox Shareholders this morning approved the $71.3 billion deal merger deal between the two companies. The deal has been said have regulatory approval and last month the U.S. Justice Department did give it's blessing for the merger. The deal does not include Fox News. The deal is definitely good news for Marvel fans waiting for Marvel Studio's to regain the rights to popular characters such as the X-Men and Fantastic Four, however many fear this will give Disney a virtual monopoly on the overall movie industry which is not viewed by some as a good thing. What are your thoughts, is the Disney/Fox merger a good thing and which Fox owned Marvel character do you want to see appear in the MCU first?

  20. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fun movie with a much lighter tone than the last Marvel movie, Avengers: Infinity War. While parts will make you laugh, I can’t say the overall plot was terribly exciting. Maybe it just seemed less exciting on the heels of the aforementioned Infinity War. The basic premise of the movie is based on the idea that Janet Van Dyke (Michelle Pfeiffer) has been alive in a quantum packet universe for the past 30 years. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his daughter Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) enlist the help of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) to rescue Janet, Hank’s wife and Hope’s mother. To complicate things Scott is still three days shy of completing his 2-year sentence of house arrest following the events of Civil War while Hank and Hope are wanted fugitives in violation of the Sokovia Accords. To make things worse, Hank and Hope aren’t the only ones interested in finding Janet Van Dyne as a new mysterious character called The Ghost enters the fray. The Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), who has the ability to phase in and out of reality, which was cool, but I think the character could have been a lot more interesting. The movie also introduces Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne), known in the comics by his alias Black Goliath. As with the Ghost, I thought Bill’s character wasn’t bad but could have been a lot more interesting. The movie has all the typical puns and character interactions you would expect from an Ant-Man movie, as well as some decent action scenes primarily involving the Wasp. While I enjoyed the film, I can only rate it as decent but not great. Oh and you will want to stick around for some important after-credit scenes. Grade: C+
