  1. According to Deadline, actor Jonathan Majors from HBO's new hit Lovecraft Country series is headed to the MCU. While not yet officially confirmed, sources close to the project tell Deadline he will likely be playing the Marvel Time-Travel villain known as Kang the Conqueror. Major's will be joining returning cast members Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. In the comics Kang has been a huge thorn in the side of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.
  2. Disney today has announced that the 20th Century Fox New Mutant movie is being indefinitely delayed as they look for new release dates. While the MCU Black Widow movie is still on the books for a May 1st release, reports are that Disney is looking at alternative dates for it's release as well. These are just a few in what is a growing list of movies being delayed over growing fears of the Coronavirus.
  3. Threezero has announced they will be launching a MCU line of figures based on the Infinity Saga for their DXL line. The DXL line up to this point has consisted of high-end Transformers figures that range from 10-11" tall. The DLX Transformers figures have had in the neighborhood of 50 points of articulation, multiple hands, accessories, led lights and figure stands. You can check these out at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. No word yet on what Marvel character will be the first to kick off the line, but if I were a betting man I would guess Iron Man. More details for this line will be released in the coming days.
  4. According to Deadline Star Wars and Dune actor Oscar Isaac has been cast in the lead role for the upcoming Disney+ Moon Knight series.

  7. Deadline is reporting that Chris Evans is very close to setting a deal that would see him return as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is despite a number of times the actor suggesting he was fully retired from the role. If or when he returns, don't expect another Captain America solo movie, but look for him to return in the capacity of a supporting character in other MCU films.

  10. I realize comparing LEGO with Marvel Legends isn't exactly fair but it's also hard not to notice that LEGO is bringing fans something from the upcoming Eternals movie that we as Marvel Legends fans really wished we were getting, and that is Arishem the Judge who is the leader of the Celestials. I guess I should note that I can't say definitively that Hasbro won't deliver us a Celestial at some point, but at least for now there have been no indications of that coming. Anyway getting back to LEGO, images for several upcoming sets for the Eternals movie now slated with a November 5, 2021 release date have hit the internet. The Eternals Spaceship ($119) In Arishem's Shadow ($79.99) Deviant Ambush With Gilgamesh and Thena Eternals' Aerial Assault With Ikaris and Sprite ($13.99)
  11. Following last weeks Disney Investor Day event, Marvel Studios has announced another series simply titled "Legends" which will debut before the January 15th premier of WandaVision. Here is the description for the show.

  14. Variety is reporting that actress Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) has been selected to play the lead role in the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series. She will be playing the character of Jennifer Walters who is the cousin of Bruce Banner (The Hulk). In the comics Walters gets a blood transfusion from her cousin which causes her to turn into the Savage She-Hulk. The TV series is said to portray the character in a similar manner and rumors have suggested that Mark Ruffalo will be showing up in the series to reprise his role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk.
  15. Shown below is a look at the new Iron Man Mark II from the first Iron Man movie and the Mark IV from Iron Man 2. These figures from the overseas company ZDToys stand between 6" - 7" tall and generally have articulation on par with Marvel Legends. Besides doing figures from the more modern MCU movies like Avengers: Endgame, they've already done the Mark III armor and I believe a Mark I and Mark VI version are coming as well from them.
  16. Marvel Entertainment has set a new release date for the Black Widow movie which will now be November 6, 2020. The movie was originally slated with a May 1 release but was delayed due to the coronavirus.
  17. Last Friday the world was rocked by the sad and surprising news that Actor Chadwick Boseman had passed away after loosing his battle with colon cancer at age 43. Reports have stated he was first diagnosed with cancer back in 2016, two years before Marvel's Black Panther movie premiered. The general public was unaware of Boseman having cancer, even after recent images of the actor surfaced showing he had lost an alarming amount of weight. Apparently Disney and Marvel Studios didn't know he had cancer either. According to an article by The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel's Kevin Feige wasn't told about the cancer until getting an urgent email on August 28, the day the actor passed away. According to the THR article, Disney was totally unprepared for the actor's passing and is now scrambling to try and figure out how to proceed with the Black Panther character that Boseman almost single handily made so famous. Until about a week ago Boseman, who according to a source in the THR article was convinced he was going to beat the cancer and be able to begin work on the second Black Panther movie, which was set to go into production next March. Most seem to agree that the two options for how Disney will proceed is to either replace Boseman with a new actor to portray King T’Challa, which many agree would be very difficult to do. Or they could make T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright) the new Black Panther which is in keeping with a storyline from the comic books. For me personally it is hard to imagine anyone in that role but Boseman himself. Because I know how important the Black Panther character is to the overall MCU, I know retiring the character completely isn't really an option for Disney. While I didn't personally know Boseman, from everything I have seen and read about him, my gut feeling is he would be most happy if Shuri (Letitia Wright) was allowed to take over the Black Panther mantle so she could become an inspiration and role-model to young girls, like his portrayal of the character did for young boys.

  20. He is the armor clad, energy, whip wielding specialist, Whiplash! The most loved villain ever battled in Iron Man 2. Recreating an Arc Reactor based on his father's design and building armor similar to the Iron Man's, Whiplash has terrified Tony Stark at the Monaco racing track. In response to the continued popularity of Hot Toys’ earliest creations, we are pleased to officially present the 1/6th scale Whiplash collectible figure with a road and pavement diorama figure stand as an exclusive item available only in selected markets. 22. Shown below are images released by ZDToys for their upcoming MCU Iron Man Mark III Armor figure. These figures are sold overseas and tend to be a bit bigger than Marvel Legends. The figure should be released soon.
  23. Tamashii Nations has announced they are re-releasing their Iron Man Mark III Armor figure with updated paint applications as part of their Birth of Iron Man series which also includes the recently announced Mark I and Tony Stark figures, each sold separately. The figure was originally released back in 2016 but has been re-painted to look more accurate to how the armor appeared in the first Iron Man movie. Overseas the figure will be offered through their Tamashii Web Shop and go up for pre-order to Club Tamashii Members starting on June 17th and is slated to start shipping on or around June 29th. At this time it's unknown if the figure will be offered to those here in the United States.
  24. Tamashii Nations has announced a new S.H. Figuarts Birth Of Iron Man Edition MCU Tony Stark figure which is slated to be released in October 2020. The figure is said to stand 5.9 inches and will contain parts that allow you to portray Tony in his suit as he looked at the beginning of the first Iron Man movie and as he looked as a prisoner of the 10 Rings organization where he made his Mark I suit in the caves. Besides replacement face and upper body parts the figure will include multiple hands, smartphone, Anvil, hammer, Mark I faceplate, and clamp to hold mask. The figure while sold separately is meant to complement the recently announced S.H. Figuarts Birth Of Iron Man Edition MCU Iron Man Mark I figure.
  25. Set photos from Australia have surfaced online for the upcoming Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The 10 Rings MCU movie. The images reveal a strange looking character which to me looks like some type of henchman. The movie is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will star Awkwafina, Simu Liu and Tony Chiu-Wai Leung. Look for this one to hit theaters on February 12, 2021.
