  1. A new Japanese teaser trailer has been released of Sony’s adaptation of Marvel’s Morbius with an introduction from Jared Leto, the actor who portrays Michael Morbius. Check out a glimpse of Michael Keaton reprising his role as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture, toward the end of the teaser trailer. The movie also stars Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris, who's role in the film remains unrevealed. Morbius will premiere in theaters or streaming in 2021.

  7. Sources within Variety are reporting that Doctor Who alum Matt Smith in final talks to join Jared Leto in “Morbius,” a film based on the Spider-Man villain of the same name. Details of who Smith would play are unknown at this time, other than it being a major role in the film. The project is being helmed by Daniel Espinosa from a script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing “Morbius” with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee the feature for Sony. The Morbius character was created in 1971 by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane for “The Amazing Spider-Man #101.” The character was a scientist who tried to cure himself of a blood disease, with tragic results. He became afflicted with vampiric traits such as fangs and a thirst for blood — and wound up battling Spider-Man. The character has appeared in different Marvel Comics over the years and had his own series in 1992, labeled “Morbius, the Living Vampire,” which had a 32-issue run through April of 1995.
