Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell's Kitchen. 3. Netflix continues their cancellation streak with Marvel's The Punisher and Jessica Jones. There will be no Season 3 of the Jon Bernthal led vigilante series, The Punisher, but the completed third season of the Krysten Ritter starring Jessica Jones will still appear on the streaming service. “Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix confirmed today to sources. “Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come,” the streamer added. “In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” Netflix also made official this President’s Day. “We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others”. “We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.” Bernthal took to social media this morning to offer a cryptic farewell of sorts: "To all who have served. All who know loss. All who love and understand Frank and his pain. It has been an honor to walk in his boots. I’m endlessly grateful to the comic fans and the men and women of the Armed Services and law enforcement community who Frank means so much to. Thank you to the USMC and all the wonderful soldiers who trained me. Go Hard. Be safe." Source: Deadline
  4. Jeph Loeb and all of Marvel was kind enough to openly thank all the fans for the support for watching the different series on Netflix. It had never been done before. Four separate television series, each with different super-talented showrunners, writers, directors, cast and crew, coming out months apart and then... ...they would meet in a single event series all set in the heart of New York City. We called them The Defenders. And together we were thrilled by stories of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and even the Punisher joined in! They said it couldn't be done. But Marvel assembled amazing teams to write, produce, direct, edit, and score 13 seasons and 161 one-hour episodes. Take a moment and go online and look at the dazzling list of actors, writers, directors, and musicians who graced us with the very best of their craft. We loved each and every minute of it. And we did it all for you -- the fans -- who cheered for us around the world and made all the hard work worth it. So, Thank You! On behalf of everyone at Marvel Television, we couldn't be more proud or more grateful to our audience. Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters... but you know Marvel better than that. As Matthew Murdock's Dad once said, "The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it's how he gets back up." To be continued...! - Jeph Loeb and all of us at Marvel Television

  11. Looks like Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for the second season of The Punisher. Still no release date other than it coming in 2019, and then of course the big question is, will it be canceled after that?
  12. Netflix has posted a new coming attractions video for January 2019 and at the very end of the video they play a clip for the second season of Punisher simply saying coming soon. This is good news for those worried the series might be canceled as many of the Marvel Netflix shows have been recently. Dardevil, Cage and Iron Fist have all been canceled with the status of Punisher and Jessica Jones remaining unknown up until this point. On thing that we should note about this video which is a little strange. At the time of this posting the video remains unlisted. Hopefully that doesn't mean the video is old and wasn't really meant for public viewing. Assuming season 2 of Punisher does air early next year, we imagine this will be the last season for the series at least on Netflix. While things remain in limbo, our feeling is many of these characters will end up showing up in some way on Disney's new streaming service which is set to start next year as well.
  13. Recently Netflix canceled three of their Marvel based shows with Daredevil, Iron fist and Cage only leaving Jessica Jones and Punisher with their fates unknown on the streaming service. The other day there were indications that a second season of Punisher would air on Netflix early next year, but most people suspect both Punsher and Jones' days are numbered on the popular streaming service. Most suspect the cancellations of these popular Marvel shows on Netflix are a result of Disney looking to move them over to their own streaming service which is set to debut in 2019. According to a new report from Variety however, it looks like if Disney brings those shows over, it won't happen for at least two years. According to the Variety's report there is a clause in the Disney/Netflix contracts that says any characters from Defenders based Netflix shows are prohibited from appearing in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation. This would not include Punisher which was not part of the original "Defenders" group of characters.
  14. After recently canceling both Iron Fist and Luke Cage, we figured it was only a matter of time before Netflix canceled the remaining Marvel based shows as Disney gears up to launch it's own streaming service called DisneyPlus next year. The axe according to Deadline has now fallen on Daredevil which just recently aired it's third season. What the future holds fr the Man Without Fear remains unknown at this time, but we really doubt we've seen the last of the horned vigilante.
  15. The third season of Daredevil debuts on Netflix today. After you watch it let us know what you thought about it in the comments section below. Was it the best season yet?
  16. Just several weeks after it was announced that Iron Fist would not get picked up for a 3rd season on the Netflix streaming service it has been announced today that Luke Cage will also not be seeing a third season. Marvel and Netflix today in a joint-statement said: “Unfortunately, ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series,” It's unclear at this time if either Cage or Iron Fist will end up on Disney's own streaming service which is slated to begin in 2019. It will be interesting to see if Jessica Jones or Daredevil which just had it's third season debut today will get renewed on Netflix or not. In fact it's really unclear at this point if there will be any more Marvel shows streaming on Netflix from this point on.
  17. Netflix has released a new Daredevil Season 3 promo poster which is titled "Let The Devil Out". The 3rd season of Marvel's Daredevil will premiere on the streaming service this coming Friday, 10/19/18.
