  1. Medicom has released official images for their upcoming MAFEX Ben Reilly Spider-Man which is due out in September 2021. The figure includes three headsculpts, one being an unmasked head. You get multiple pairs of hands, pulled off mask, and webbing effect. Check out the official images below. You can pre-order this figure from our sponsor HobbylinkJapan.
  2. Sony has released a second trailer for their upcoming Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse animated movie which opens in theaters on 12.14.18. "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," the upcoming 3D animated superhero movie, which tells the origin story of Miles Morales, an Afro-Latino teenager who discovers that he possesses superpowers -- and his abilities are very much like Spider-man's. In this big-screen Sony Pictures Animation adaptation of the Miles Morales comic books, Miles lives in an alternate Brooklyn where Peter Parker is much older and also appears to be lying low, yet has decided to take Miles under his wing. The two develop a mentor-student relationship while Miles must learn to balance his life as a superhero with his life as an ordinary high school kid. 3. According to Variety, Sony is looking to do a live-action TV series based on Marvel's Silk character. Lauren Moon (Good Trouble and Netflix's Atypical) is in talks to write the series. Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Amy Pascal are set to produce and word is that Amazon is interested in possibly grabbing it for their streaming service. Silk, AKA Cindy Moon was a Korean-American classmate of Peter Parker who first appeared in the 2014 Amazing Spider-Man #1. Like Peter, she was also bitten by a radioactive spider which gave here abilities such as agility and the power to shoot webs from her fingertips. She also has her own version of the spider-sense, but she calls her's Silk-Sense. Coincidentally Hasbro will seemingly be releasing a new updated Marvel Legends figure of the Silk character in the near future.
  4. For you Spider-Man fans, even though we just recently got the Silt-Man Build-A-Figure Marvel Legends wave from Hasbro to start the year off, it looks like there are a fair number of other web-crawler themed figures in the pipeline yet to be officially announced. Of course this year is another Spider-Man movie year so that really shouldn't be a big surprise to you. While we've been pretty confident for a while now that there would be a second wave of regular Spider-Man themed Marvel Legends figures coming from Hasbro this year, we didn't have any specific details about that wave. We still don't know the specific figures being released in the wave or what the build-A-figure will be. According to a list posted over at Fwoosh, it's looking like this wave will be a mix of movie, comic and video game figures. This is how they are breaking it down. F0170 – Assortment UPC: 501099372093 Wave 2 – Unknown (BaF) • F3018 – MCU Figure 7 Shale – 5010993844722 • F3019 – MCU Figure 8 Sulfur – 5010993844739 • F3021 – MCU Figure 9 Methane – 5010993844753 • F3022 – MCU Figure 10 Manganese – 5010993844746 • F3023 – MCU Figure 11 Lodine – 5010993844685 • F3024 – Comic Figure 12 Sandstone – 5010993844708 • F3025 – Gamerverse Figure 13 Sapphire – 5010993844692 So 5 movie figures, 1 comic and 1 video game. Again we have no idea what the Build-A-Figure will be. The wave should be out in September/October time frame while the next movie which is titled Spider-Man: No Way Home is due out in theaters on December 17, 2021. Besides regular release figures, I have seen indications that we will also be getting a number of Retro Carded Spider-Man themed figures this year as well. Figures I have seen slated for the Retro Card treatment include Hobgoblin, Web Man, Shocker, Sandman, Kraven and/or Black Costume Spider-Man. I say and/or for Kraven and Black Costume Spider-Man because i've seen the same product # listing used for both figures at different places. I don't know if one is an error and we will only end up with one of them. It's possible we could still get both even though both figures have been recently released multiple times by Hasbro. The last time we saw figures of Kraven and Black Costume Spider-Man was in a Target exclusive 2-pack which was released a year or so ago. I've even seen some speculation that perhaps Hasbro is getting creative and will release a Kraven figure dressed up wearing the Black Spider-Man Costume, as he did in the Last Hunt storyline. Since there is conflicting information floating around for some of these figures, I would keep this more in the RUMOR category than I normally recommend you do. I should also note on the Sandman that I don't think we ever got that one on a traditional Retro Spider-Man Toy Biz cardback back in the day. I believe the only 5" Sandman we got from Toy Biz was released in a boxset. Of course Toy Biz never did a Web Man figure either. I also don't know what the price on Sandman will be. Since the previous Sandman was released as a Build-A-Figure, I suspect he will cost more than the other Retro figures. How or if any of these actual figures will differ from their original Hasbro Marvel Legends releases is unknown at this time, but I suspect we might start getting some official looks at these next month. Also I am pretty sure the Retro figures will be done as individual releases possibly as Fan Channel exclusives and not as one wave. Again, until Hasbro officially confirms all this we will treat them as RUMORS for now.

  17. Writer Saladin Ahmed’s acclaimed run on MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN will hit a new highpoint this April with the CLONE SAGA, a new arc that promises to be Mile Morales’ most thrilling adventure yet. One of the most talked about comic book storylines of the nineties, the mega-popular “Clone Saga” took over the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, shocking readers month after month. Now this iconic saga will be—Miles Morales-style—beginning in a special oversized anniversary issue: MILE MORALES: SPIDER-MAN #25. After months of buildup, the Clone Saga will be the culmination of many of the ongoing story threads that have been haunting Miles since the very beginning of Ahmed’s run. Readers will finally see the full extent of the Assessor’s meddling as his clone creations run rampant through Brooklyn. Designed by superstar artist and Marvel Stormbreaker Carmen Carnero, prepare to meet three distinct Miles clones, each one destined to turn Miles’ super hero career upside down. “When Peter Parker faced his own ‘Clone Saga’ years ago, he was taking part in what was already one of the most iconic traditions in comics - the hero battling a version of themselves. Since the very first issue of MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN, I've known that I wanted put Miles through that iconic wringer in his own distinctive way,” Ahmed said. “Miles' CLONE SAGA is a story that has been months, even years, in the making. We've been planting its seeds throughout the series, from the horrors of being abducted by the Assessor to the confrontations and sacrifices of the Ultimatum epic. Moments from the past will come back to haunt Miles, and the events of the story will ensnare everyone from his baby sister to Peter Parker (who knows a thing or two about dealing with clones). The ramifications will be felt for years, and it all starts in April! ” “If you thought the first ‘Clone Saga’ was controversial, wait until you read what Saladin and Carmen do,” Editor Nick Lowe said. Don’t miss the start of Miles Morales’ greatest challenge to date when the CLONE SAGA kicks off in MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN #25. 18. Announced last month, Marvel is honoring the 50th anniversary of Man-Thing with a new series. Starting in March with AVENGERS: CURSE OF THE MAN-THING #1, the three-part Marvel Universe-spanning event will continue in April with SPIDER-MAN: CURSE OF THE MAN-THING #1. In this installment, critically acclaimed writer Steve Orlando (Martian Manhunter, Batman, Wonder Woman) will be joined by artist Alberto Foche (Dan Dare) who makes his Marvel Comics debut with an unforgettable tale. Man-Thing’s supernatural abilities have been pirated thanks to the new Marvel villain, Harrower, a zealot intent on clearing humanity off the board so a new species can get a shot at the top. The world burns and fear is the accelerant! Meanwhile, Spider-Man races across New York desperate to avert disaster and find the one man that just might be able to get through to Man-Thing...his former colleague Curt Connors, A.K.A. The Lizard! But deep within the Man-Thing’s psyche, it’s Spider-Man that discovers something he never expected: a devilish secret, and a doctor seeking redemption. “SPIDER-MAN: CURSE OF THE MAN-THING picks up the second, explosive chapter of our anniversary celebration as cities across the world fall prey to Man-Thing's fire, and the best hope for stopping the blaze rests with not just Spider-Man, but one of this oldest foes: the Lizard,” Orlando said. “What a blast to watch Man-Thing take Manhattan, and to see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales step up to the plate to defend their city against fear!” “If you like super heroes and the supernatural, you’ll LOVE this high-octane celebration of one of Marvel’s strangest characters,” Editor Mark Paniccia said. “It feels like its own big event. And Steve’s epic story will reveal, amongst other things, an unexpected new dimension of the Marvel Universe.” Since his creation by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, and Gray Morrow in 1971’s SAVAGE TALES #1, the misunderstood swamp monster has taught readers the true meaning of fear in thought-provoking tales by legendary creators such as Steve Gerber and R.L. Stine. Prepare to burn at the Man-Thing’s touch once again when SPIDER-MAN: CURSE OF THE MAN-THING # hits stands this April. 24. Eagle eye Tarot points out a mention of a new Marvel Legends Spider-Man Retro 6" Spider-Man in the Negative Zone coming from Hasbro in official description of the recently announced Marvel Legends 6" Spider-Man Retro J Jonah Jameson figure. At least in the description about the figure posted on HasbroPulse Look for other Hasbro Marvel Legends Series figures (each sold separately) with Marvel Universe characters, including Cyborg Spider-Man and Spider-Man in the Negative Zone. (Additional figures each sold separately. Subject to availability.) While Jonah himself is a Fan Channel exclusive, the mentioned Cyborg Spider-Man figure we know will be released as a Target store exclusive. At this time it's unclear if this Spider-Man in the Negative Zone figure will be a Fan-Channel, Target exclusive or some other store exclusive. We will update as more details become available.
  25. Looks like BenIrvin has been doing some retail store computer searching and discovered a number of new Marvel Legends wave listings. As always the listings don't give us much info in the way of specific figures, as code names are used. It does however give us an idea of whats in the pipeline. One of the most interesting things of note is the listing of a new X-Men wave. This is possibly the House of X wave Hasbro had previously said earlier in the year was coming and/or might contain the 4 figures Hasbro teased in their last live-stream event. 5010993791453 MVL X MEN LEGEND ASST 5010993790289 - MVL X-Men Legends 2 5010993790166 - MVL X-Men Legends 3 5010993790531 - MVL X-Men Legends 4 5010993790159 - MVL X-Men Legends 5 5010993790524 - MVL X-Men Legends 6 5010993790258 - MVL X-Men Legends 7 The four teases Hasbro gave in that live-stream said 1. We would get one figure that was a character Toy Biz did and Hasbro hadn't. 2. An old Hasbro Marvel Legends figure getting an update. 3. A 3.75" Marvel Universe figure being done in 6" form. 4. A character that had never been done before. Earlier this week Dan Yun from Hasbro posted on social media saying the 4 figures teases in the last live-stream would be part of the same wave, though it looks like he since deleted that tweet. Oh and then there was the hand with the yellow glove Hasbro teased two live-stream video's ago which was likely for some kind of new Rogue figure. Toad, Avalanche and a new Blob Build-A-Figure seem to be fan-favorite choices for getting the figure treatment and would fit the criteria of Hasbro's recent clues. Other waves discovered is a new Spider-Man one which is likely the rumored Into The Spiderv-Verse wave we told you about the other day with the Miles Morales Spider-Man, Peter B. Parker, Spider-Gwen and Marvel Comics versions of Frogman and Hand Ninja. This wave may see a Stiltman Build-A-Figure which we think Hasbro was teasing two live-stream videos ago. This should be the first wave listed for 2021, however we will likely see out by end of December. 5010993790951 SPD LEGENDS - SULFUR 8 5010993791040 SPD LEGENDS - METHANE 5010993791064 SPD LEGENDS - MANGANESE 10 5010993791071 SPD LEGENDS - LODINE 11 5010993790937 SPD LEGENDS - SANDSTONE 12 5010993790920 SPD LEGENDS - SAPHIRE 13 The next wave is the long rumored second wave of Avengers figures due out this year. This wave should include a mixture of video game and comic based figures. There is also a possibility the Build-A-Figure will be Modok from the new Avengers video game from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics that will be out on September 4. 5010993791385 AVN LEGENDS ASST 5010993790814 AVN LEGENDS MSE 1 5010993791125 AVN LEGENDS MSE 2 5010993791132 AVN LEGENDS MSE 3 5010993791026 AVN LEGENDS MSE 4 5010993790890 AVN LEGENDS MSE 5 5010993790982 AVN LEGENDS MSE 6 5010993791101 AVN LEGENDS MSE 7 The final wave is completely new to us and listed simply as SHC which could be for Shang-Chi. The names are code names so no help there on determining what they are. There is the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie currently slated for a May 2021 release, but with so much uncertainty in the movie world it's unknown if that will get pushed back or not. Originally there was going to be an Eternals themed wave due out this year but that got delayed when the movie did. 5010993791545 - SHC LEGENDS ASST 5010993786510 - SHC Legends Captain 1 5010993790463 - SHC Legends Pirate 2 5010993790470 - SHC Legends Sailor 3 5010993786527 - SHC Legends CWS 4 5010993790494 - SHC Legends Yacht 5 5010993785780 - SHC Legends Halo 6 As always these listings are subject to change so do treat them as rumors until we get official confirmation from Hasbro. Hopefully Hasbro will give us details on most of these at the end of the month when they hold their virtual Pulse-Con on September 25-26.
