  1. I can't speak for everyone but I personally am more worried about OTHER people I might expose to the virus, whether I am vaccinated or not. Isn't that crazy? Actually being accountable for the health of others around me instead of just myself? Your thought methodology has largely contributed to how we got where we are in the first place. And why we're now going backwards; everyone is so caught up in "ME, ME ME, MY RIGHTS, MY BODY, MEEEEE!" that they've clearly stopped thinking about anyone else. And, because I know I'm going to have to dumb this down, a realistic scenario is this: 1) Vaccinated person is exposed to the virus. 2) The same vaccinated person is then exposed to someone who thinks there are nano machines or something in the vaccine and so has decided to abstain. Maybe this happened in a crowded movie theatre. 3) Non-vaccinated person then gets sick. Rinse and repeat. It really is that simple. I'm really disappointed in how this country has politicized something that should just be basic common sense and human decency. If wearing a "face diaper" might save someone's life (even if there's just a chance it will), I will gladly wear it. Only truly selfish people would put their "rights" above the health of everyone around them.

  2. As you can see, I used the Super-Skrull BAF version for the far more attractive head sculpt, removed the hair from both that and the retro card version, and slapped the retro hair onto the better head. You telling me I had to spend an extra $22 for something Hasbro should've done themselves?!!

  3. So, next year is the 50th anniversary of Luke Cage; he was the first Black comic book character to star in their own solo series, so he's pretty important. To celebrate that; how would you feel about a Heroes for Hire 2-pack of 70s Luke Cage and 70s Iron Fist?

  4. There are a distressing number of comic fans who seem blissfully ignorant of the fact that they've grown up (relatively speaking) to be people that Steve Rogers would be a hell of a lot more likely to punch in the face than agree with. And who are amazingly ignorant of how progressive and "woke" superhero comics in general have been for oh, I dunno...as far back as Superman taking on abusive husbands and slumlords when Action Comics was still in single-digits.

  5. Short answer: they don't Long Answer: Why does Hasbro hate Rachel Summer? Why do they Hate Lockjaw? Why do They Hate Crystal? Why do they hate Dr. Druid? I could go on and on but the simple answers is they don't. Hasbro just hasn't gotten around to those characters. There are hundreds, if not Thousands of characters need to make. However, they can't fit them into their planning. They have to make figures that everyone would love in one case or the other and They have to fit in the Spider-men/Wolverine/Cap/IM etc because those sell the line to the general store who don't care for lesser characters. They have to put classic/modern version in to appeal to every one. So no. Hasbro does not hate any character (well maybe Hate Monger but there is an extremely perfect reason for that), there just is to much and not enough space. Give it time and they will get to the characters.

  6. Ok, so we pretty much know all of the legends that are dropping in 2021 and it seems to have been a good year as I think most of us have knocked at least a couple of most wanted characters off our list. I got a quasar after all, who saw that coming? So let's do a poll of most wanted for 2022. Here is how it works: Choose 5 characters that are your most wanted. It can be new or redos or whatever, can be normal or deluxe sizes. List them in order of most desired being #1 second most desired #2 etc. The order matters as I will keep a tally. Again most desired = lowest number. Choose 5 and only 5. for me #1 Classic Drax the destroyer #2 Mephisto #3 Starfox #4 Classic Dr Strange #5 Firelord

  7. It's quadruple the price, and--even after adjusting for inflation--still close to triple. They were $8 originally, which would be about $12.16 in today's dollars. That said, I think people aren't really appreciating just how out of control the cost of shipping has gotten over the last decade or so, and especially over the last two years. As an online retailer, it's literally impossible to turn a profit on Marvel Legends unless you do some combination of marking them up above MSRP or charging the customer for actual shipping costs. And shipping from retailer to customer isn't the only time a toy gets shipped. From China to Hasbro, from Hasbro to distributor, from distributor to retailer, the price of these toys has to reflect between two and four trips around the world. Obviously bulk shipping rates are a thing, but even they are insanely more expensive than they used to be. If shipping a figure goes up by $1, the final price of that figure would need to increase by $4 to $8 for Hasbro to continue making the same margin*. It literally costs more than $8 to ship a single figure between any two points in the US these days, so $8 figures with free shipping and three to five links in the supply chain would be far, far, far beyond impossible. * For simplicity's sake, let's say figures are $20 and Hasbro spends $10 for every $20 they bring in. That's a 50% margin. If shipping suddenly goes up by $1, a fee Hasbro will be paying at least twice (and which distributors and retailers will be paying at least once each, likely also to be necessary to build into the margin), people will be tempted to think "their costs are $2 higher, so their prices should only be $2 higher", but that isn't how it works. They can't just increase the price to $22 because then they'd be spending $12 to earn $22, only a 45% margin. They would need to earn $24 to retain their margin. This is why shipping cost increases lead to exponential price increases.

  9. I just don't understand why you keep calling it "HasScam"- I know being a bit grumpy is kind of your schtick (which is fine- one of my best friends is a goodhearted grump), but HasLab is much more transparent than a lot of the things that big toy companies do. You seem to have a limit, where you don't buy items above a certain price point. I totally respect that, and it is a wise person who can set and stick to limits for themselves. These HasLab projects are not for you- they are for people who want a giant Galactus, and/or are fine spending $400.00 on an item for their collection. There are some companies that make really cool statues that are many hundreds, even thousands, of dollars- those aren't for me, but this is. It's not a scam, you're just not the kind of consumer that this is aimed at. We have seen about the limits of what Hasbro will do for Deluxe figures and BAFs, I think. I have no interest in a 12" Galactus, and it would be a wasted spot for a more in-scale large character to be done as a deluxe release or BAF. 9 or 10 inches seems to be about the limit for BAFs these recent years, and 12" or so the limit for deluxe releases. I think it's great to have 6" figures as stretch goals for these projects. I also think those figures should all be very niche/obscure. I don't think Firelord, updated Terrax, Frankie-Nova, or even Morg should be stretch goals, unless they are, say, paint variants of an upcoming general-release version. I think that Norrin Radd and Shalla Bal would be great choices, because they are figures that Hasbro would most likely not make otherwise. I think having this big Galactus get made actually improves our chances of getting more general-release figures of Galactus-related characters. If Hasbro sees that they can sell 21,000 units of a $400.00 Galactus, they might feel more comfortable with the demand for, say, Airwalker in a F4 Legends wave.

  10. I love how the "muh comics/shows/movies" people make it easy to see how seriously they want to be taken by how much they misspell "LGBTQ." Saves the trouble reading when you can instantly see where they stand by just that.

  12. Marvel has always prided itself on being "The world outside your window." Ignoring social ills and political climates just so people can feel comfortable with themselves means it's no longer meeting that statement. Being able to "not pay attention to Politics" means you can ignore problems exist because you feel like they don't affect you (and indeed they might not...or you might even benefit from the status quo, even if you might not realize exactly how), and if you remain ignorant of a problem then you cannot be any real part of helping to solve the problem. Entertainment across all media and genres always will be politically charged to some degree, because it always has been (and before certain people start parsing words, I don't mean every single piece of entertainment is political. I mean every medium and genre has been politicized at one point or another). And that's a good thing, because sometimes letting some of those problems be portrayed through the lens of fiction is the only way some people come to realize the problem exists. And once we all can agree that there IS a problem we can start working on how to fix it. But we're still working on that first part, at the moment.

  13. Maybe if evil white men would stop oppressing black women, they wouldn't need to talk about it. Seems like this is a problem that solves itself if you just act like a decent human, instead of getting annoyed and offended by all those people asking for dignity and equality.

  14. Don't think its animosity towards MCU fans, but when someone asks "who the hell is (blank) or who asked for (blank)", it behooves us to try to answer their question....and Educate them. If youre an MCU fan, that's great, but understand that everything great about the MCU came from the comics. Without Marvel Comics, there simply is no MCU. Sadly, some people seem to think if they never heard of a thing, then that thing isn't relevant. But if youre watching Endgame and theres the scene in Dr. Pym's lab where there's a big silvery helmet with antennae on his desk? That's the original Ant-Man helmet. Captain America movie, look at the World's Fair scene. The guy in the red jumpsuit in the large tube? That's the Original Human Torch. Comic book fans know not only did he fight in WW2 alongside Cap and Sub-Mariner, his android body would be the basis for another android decades later- the Vision. Iron Man 2, there's a map of Africa in the background and a pinpoint to Wakanda. There was a HUGE cheer in the theatre then,, because fans knew what that meant. Not to mention all the little after-credit scenes in the movies with Thanos...comic guys knew instantly who that was, and some big crap was about to break off. But if you only know the MCU, that purple dude has no meaning. There's plenty of room for both comic and MCU fans. MCU only fans definitely have the right to express opinions. The great thing is, you can always get some back issues of the comics to see where the inspiration for the movies come from. Its a fantastic time for superheroes! Figures, TV, Movies and Comics!

  15. The first thing that came to my mind when Hasbro revealed the Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man was "they need to repaint this into a Romita-style release." To be honest, the main reason I want this is so people stop touting the retro Spider-Man as the "perfect" capture of Romita's Spidey. It's not. 60s-80s Spider-Man needs a leaner body. Not skinny, just with less defined musculature. That being said, here's my digibash:

  16. No screaming head for Siryn. This is what I get for giving them the benefit of the doubt. So I guess we really can expect the next version to have passive hair but her expression will be dialed up to 11. You can't tell me this isn't deliberate. And so unnecessary, because YES, we WOULD buy another Siryn in another outfit.

  17. Yeah man, they really messed up the Marvel IP. I really hate that they turned it into a multi-billion dollar juggernaut with consistently great movies and shows that make good use of their source material. 🙄 I certainly wouldn't want them to have an X-Men property that tackles complex political issues and pushes for minority representation because the X-Men I love never stood in for repressed groups through some sort of "mutant metaphor" or anything like that.

  20. Well, the handle is actually Mo(n)ron999, but with the state of the public education system I can't blame you for your lack of reading skills, but YESSSSS, absolutely hilarious! I'm sure it comes as a complete surprise that you're not the first one to take that easy shot. Low hanging fruit is what I believe my friend @Benncalls it. I've gone into this before, in much greater detail, in a much slower time on these forums, but allow me to give you some history as to where the name comes from. Ronald Montgomery was a friend and mentor of mine during my construction days. Under his tutelage I became a great mechanic and our working relationship was such that I agreed to work with him on a site that very few wanted to be at because it was in the middle of the squelching hot desert. Long story short, we were one day working on a high scaffold and having had three days of watching a forklift operator from another subcontractor have several instances where they came dangerously close to hitting the scaffold he pulled the crew and refused to put us back to work until the situation was handled. Needless to say this did not sit well with either our company or the contracting company and he wound up in a big hoopla about it. While in his heated meetings and negotiations he recommended none of the crew work on or around that area and gave us many other areas to find work. Needless to say, the operator did indeed eventually hit the scaffold and it did come down that day when we would have most assuredly been working on it, so Monty had pretty much saved my life and the lives of at least 6 others on the crew. About six months later, on another jobsite he had a massive heart attack and died alone in the dirt somewhere between the main office and the on sight nurses office. Skip to 3 years later. I had worked my way up and through several positions in the company into management. I was going through finances of my projects and cleaning up clients or vendors that we no longer used or were no longer in business. As I moved on to payroll I noticed something that I had to bring to the attention of the owner. Talking to him it came to light that the owner had continued to pay Monty's salary to his widow for the last few years and I assume still does to this day. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that he was guilt ridden that he insisted Monty put us back on the scaffold on that fateful day, or whether it was Monty's years of loyalty and willingness to work whenever or wherever he was asked, or if it was just straight monetary considering what would have happened to his company and reputation had 8 of us died on that jobsite, but he did. Monty's sign on name was mon,ron1000, so though I'm well aware of how the call sign sounds and how easily it can be misconstrued or twisted into an easy mindless pun, I think I'll keep it. Besides, who am I to deny so many brilliant and comedic minds their opportunity to grab onto a cheap pop when they don't agree with someone who happens to have a different opinion than themselves? 👌

  21. I cant speak for others. Its not about "chest size". I can only say for myself, its an issue of accuracy. No one can rationally dismiss what I said about the nonsense of using a teen girl body buck for a figure like what Shilka is supposed to be. You simply wouldn't do that if you were making an adult buff male figure. Trying to denigrate it to a "dude caring about chest size" says more about cbwilik, than anything else. And here's one to chew on: the character that should have been on the slender/scrawny side, Callisto, what did they do? They used a non-scrawny buck! Puffy cheeks and all. Its bizarre. As for the example of the Cap/Spidey/Thor trio, you actually proved my point. These guys didn't always have the right proportions (Cap just recently got his chain mail) and the reason they got them was because collectors called hasbro out on it. Just like we're finally getting double jointed elbows/biceps swivel. Maybe the reason the female figs aren't "proven sellers" is because people don't wanna spend money on something that's inaccurate. I doubt that Hasbro isn't willing to spend the money on female characters, because they're doing such a good job on faces. Their past efforts, not to mention the toybiz line, were nothing less than nightmare inducing. And to be clear, I never specified which buck Binary should be on. The moonstone buck though, is more accurate than the one we're seeing. But lets be honest, if Hasbro started using that as their go-to, majority of you wouldn't mind. Let's stop the hypocrisy. Hasbro needs to get more diverse body types not just for female and male figs, but "civilian" figs as well.

  24. The buck used for MCU Death Dealer is extremely restrictive & doesn't allow for a great deal of poseability for a supreme martial artist, so I just painted the head & hands in HAND Ninja colors & now I have a more posable Death Dealer that better fits in my comic based collection.

  27. In the mirror? I'll see a straight cis white man. I have never been the victim of racism. Not once. That's the sort of privilege I enjoy as a white man in the US. Bigotry only has power when it comes from people who enjoy social privilege. One person hating people with a particular characteristic is a symptom of bigotry, not bigotry itself. I don't harbour bias against white people. I just pay attention, and listen to non-white people when they tell me how their lives are affected by my actions.

  29. I'd love to see that in print. Not saying its not true, just that I'd want to see where/when/who made such a statement because it flies in the face of reason. If they can do Ghost Rider- flaming skull and all- Blackheart, Red Goblin, etc. then a "no devil" policy makes no sense. Mephisto is basically a red-skinned dude in an all-red get up, with wild ass Phyliss Diller hair. Red Goblin surely looks way more "devilish" than that. And, I agree with @RyanDaly that if they're gonna be that foolish about (some people could say unfounded) concern with physical retailers, they could just use Hasbro Pulse.

But I saw a LOT of people all over the web who were dead set on Mephisto being revealed as the mastermind behind everything (possibly played by Evan Peters) and that seemed like a stretch to me.

  36. Glad to know you're safe and haven't resented the effects of the pandemic. You could try empathy for a change, the fact that you haven't been affected by this doesn't mean nobody has. I'm lucky I can still work and do everything from home, but a lot of friends have either lost their jobs or can't work at all since this broke out, and that means they are limited to what they can and can't afford by their savings. The fact that you and I may be able to pay for something 500usd + doesn't mean that everyone will be, and on the empathic side of things, those 500usd+ could be used for something a bit more helpful to yourself and society. I'm not talking about donating, or even loaning, but you could probably boost those 500 into something more like investing in some business for when the dust settles.

  40. which one do you mean, the Toybiz version or the Hasbro versions? While I do think the swapping is a problem, I think Hasbro should keep the one they have been using as it is more environmentally friendly. If they went with the retro version, the plastic and cardboard will be stuck together and not good for recycling. Plus the normal box is design to be alot smaller and easier to pack and send out to stores. and dear god no Clamshells. They were a nightmare to open.

There's no need to always have to create controversy on socio-political matters, we can talk about how awesome it is Ali is playing the Daywalker, or how it sucks that the Netflix shows have been all but wiped from canon, or that "he's too old" to start heading a franchise right now anyway and Snipes should come back... or how awesome it'll be to have Blade inspired figures with the movie coming out. Just, stop trying to make things controversial out of what reads like childish spite.

Some might pay $1000 usd for this , some might not pay $100 usd. Each person can decide for themselves if it is worth the price the producer is asking. That is how capitalism works. If you are so disgusted by others opinions I suggest you DO NOT READ THEM.

Nobody asked for this and the next person that says "Man, I wish they would reboot a marginally successful comic series based on those relatively lukewarm supporting characters The Eternals that never really met expectations.", will be the first. And I'm sure Stan Lee and Jack Kirby are just looking down with baited breath on the prospect of yet another one of their creations being turned into another politically driven train wreck at light speed. Let's all just call it for what it is and recognize that this book was just supposed to try and cash in on the boost of interest the movie was going to be bringing to the characters. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the plague is gonna spoil those plans.
