  1. And there's that $29.99 Price tag we've all been bracing for.
  2. I could also see the next BAF being Outback Colosus. He's the last remaining member of that team. Hasbro has been making efforts to complete teams lately.
  3. I am an X-Men Only Collector and what a waste of a wave. I am getting tired of alternate looks of main charcters for teams they will never finish eating up valuble space in waves-- what is the point of X-corp cyclops and Jean if you wont do the rest? I feel most collectors would rather have the comic version of the team anyway. So, why have these figures eat valuble space for other figures? I could understand if it was thier loooks from the first couple episodes, thats at least a complete motif. I am still waiting for them to finish the season 1 finally team- we need Forge, Rogue in Green, Morph in his second cosume and a proper cable in a drak blue- I currently am subbing Capcom Cable with the 97 head. Its frustrating. And it eats valuble space for other characters. Psylocke, a new Powered up Sunspot, other missing memebers of x-factor, exodus (who is clearly coming but could have freed a future spot) or how about a proper Jim Lee Jubilee which they screwed up on by skipping? I will only be getting duplicates of Havoc and Polaris out of the wave. I would have been tempted by Gambit if they had the alternative head form the last episode and a scythe which would have been cool and new. Part of me wishes we got an MTO or delxue with the flying cycle. Just missed opportunities all around. I am not personally interested in Vindicator, but that's the sort of swing I want to see, oppertunities for more and diverse characters. Even though he's not my cup of tea, produicng characters like him will eventually pay off for everyone's tastes. My issue here is not with chacracter choices, but wasted slots and patterns of Hasbro behavior. I'll pick up duplicates of the MTO and Havoc and Polaris. Its been a sad lean year as an X-men collector. I hope in the next wave we get a proper pinless Pyro with solid fire blasting effects, would also love a proper Comic Pyslocke with a sword and shash not locked hostage with Thanos- Im very bitter the Wolverine release has a Katana, really Hasbro thats what you cut out of the Thanos 2-pack? "Minor gripes from an even minor collector."-- Beast
  4. I don't mind the cost. I don't love the cost of things going up, and like all consumers if I can choose to pay less fomr somethign of equal or lessor quality i will, but its an economic reality today. Everyone says we are getting less than we used to and I dont fully agree. Today we are getting (almost) entirely pinless joints-- this is tooling money. We are getting the absolute best head sculpts in the marvel 1:12 figure market. We are getting vastly improved accesories more frequently (again this is tooling dollars even if the plastic itself is cheap). Everybody laments the old days when figures like the walgreens Magik was packed out, but was she really? She has a dragon we'd had a few times before, the crappy flexible lighting bits, the same sword power wrap effect we always got and the those spiral power pieces that gove over wrists. I'd aruge the only turely unique piee was her soul sword. How many figures came with those stupid power effects that were circles with points: Dazler, Jubilee, Scarlet Witch, Dr Strange and countless others. How about those stupid globual spirals that came with Magneto, Havoc, Polaris... yes you got more by volume, but it was in my opinion, inferior to the new Encantress effect, the force field that comes with sue storm, the new Maxmim Thor lighting, Jubilee's firework effect, or how about those really awesome effects with the gamerverse Psylocke? I would say overall (there are exceptions) on average the accsories while less, are actually a vast improvement. While extra hands and heads are nice and provide flexability and choice, if we're actually honest with ourselves, most of its ends up in baggies or storage anyway. I would also say headsculpts are a vast improvement and show an investiment in new technology since the $19.99 days, just in detail alone let alone shading. I keep hearing arguements about getting less for more and I don' fully agree. I uderstand expense, and in this economy, and being forced ot make choices. Those to me are entirely differnt arguements. I recognize there are exceptions, X-Men 97 Rougue was bad, but the tooling dollars for the line were allocated elsewhere and honestly, I'd rather have her than not. Frankly, people regualrly pay $35 for McFarlene figures which are objectively inferior in near everyway. People spend 3x-4x $29.99 for imports like Mafex which are more delicate and headsculps arent that detailed. Given economic relaitites and the fact Hasbro is a business, I'd say we are still getting the best cross section of value to quality we can. Supply and demand dictates if prices go up, demand goes down- thats a reality of people choosing to allocate scares resources differntly and the product lacking perceived value. If you no longer perceive value in Legends thats ok and a natural behavior, but that is seperate from a quality arguement and the two should not be conflated as one. That said, I don't see a real issue with $75 for the Bastion-Trask made to order two pack, given the unique tooling and sculpt. Bastion would be sold solo for $49.99, $39.99 at the very least but Archangel is a stright repaint no new tooling-- thats means i get a Trask (who I have actually wanted) for $25. Or I accept the reality figures are going to be $29.99 and if that's what Trask costs me, I get Bastion for $45.00. I look at this and I don't see a massive cost issue. Keep in mind many some of these parts like Bastion's wings will have limited reuse oppertunitites menaing Hasbro can't recoup its investment over time. It has to do so all at once. That's just economics. The economic reality Hasbro has to contend with (and us as collectors) is the ripple effect of price increases. As Hasbro rasies prices, casual collectors and kids who buy at volume will sharply drop off. This lowers demand making Hasbro want to supply less, which will evnetually trickle down to the number of figures released per year. That in turn will also push prices up (less supply= higher price). We are going to be in this cycle for a while until a new market equlibrium is met. Everyone is quick to blame Hasbro but they are a business that feel economic pressures just like us and is acountable to shareholders. Thats a reality. I stuggle to think of a business or industry that lowers prices in times of economic uncertainty, and while I don't like it--I don't blame Hasbro for this behavior--just liek I don't balme anyone for not buying it. This is everywhere. I go to the grocery store and pay more for the same or less oranges, this is no different. I can ultimately choose to still buy Oranges accepting i will recieve the same or less for more, or switch to strawberries. Please understand I am not criticizing anyoen for saying they will no longer buy legends because of the cost, I am chalalnging the idea that we are receiving less quality for more money. I would argue quality has only ncreased since the $19.99 days.
  5. IF there is going to be a price increase, they will wait for the X-Men 97 wave. Let a top seller absorb the hits and criticism.
  6. I agree with the previous two posters in part but disagree in other ways. First recognize the limitations of my perspective: I’m a relatively new collector—I started in summer 2024. I exclusively collect X-Men. My collecting began as a desire to modernize my old toy biz toys after watching X-Men 97. I’d love to expand my collection, but I would rather do one thing REALLY well than a bunch half assed when it comes to financial choices Keep in mind everything I say is from those two perspectives: I agree I’ve have this year’s offerings “underwhelming” but only because they are not X-Men related. Im always impressed and tempted by a great number of figures. Last year I got absolutely hammered, I did math and 46% of all figures were X-Men adjacent. It was a very expensive year for me. I ‘m in the minority of Legends collectors who accepts the price increases. 1) I recognize Hasbro is a business beholden to shareholders and consumers will bear the brunt of that. I also recognize the shifting economy and market. I dare anyone to name an industry that is absorbing the costs for consumers. At the grocery store I pay more for oranges and receive the same or fewer oranges. I can tolerate this reality for Hasbro figures. Another common complaint is reuse which I’m mostly happy to accept if it means I get more figures. I am happy to have Corsair, Vulcan and Cyclops share a body if it means I get all three. I realize there are a great number of characters who require special sculpting but again I recognize the budgetary limitations of Hasbro’s tooling. I hate my Avalanche his slender he should be short and chonky like the cartoon, but I’d rather have him than not because his absence from my Brotherhood display would be far more annoying than a subpar version. I honestly feel Hasbro has significantly increased the quality of their accessories. Everyone laments the old days when figures were packed out and I do not. I absolutely hate that stupid effect that came with Dazzler, Jubilee, Scarlet Witch and the weird bubble things that came with Havoc Polaris and so many others. Today we’re getting unique FX pieces. Jubilee finally got firework effects worthy of her powers—and the best in action figure form. The New Enchantress effect is WONDERFUL. The lightening effect that came with female electro and Maximum Thor is leaps and bounds better than that crappy wrap around stuff. I see value in better accessories and will accept less accessories that will just sit in a bag if I get better fewer better pieces. The fact I get fewer hands or less accessories but higher quality is something I not only except, but would choose if given the choice. Legends also have the BEST head sculpts in the 1:12 scale game. No one will every show me a Mafex or S.H. figuarts head that is better than a modern Legends head. Mezco and Hot Toys are only better because they are 1:6 and have more sculpting space. I’m in the minority because I prefer Hasbro articulation to imports, mostly because there is a huge trade off. In my experience imports are much more delicate and Legends can take much more abuse- in hand they feel more solid. In the end I don’t love paying $27.99 for a figure with 1 head and two spare ahnds but I realize that’s how it works sometimes. Everyone complained about the Deathbird/Gladiator two pack but honestly, what accessories did Death Bird Need? Her sculpting was immaculate—ad those gladiator heads were leaps and bounds better than the previous version. I can accept that. I also appreciate Hasbro reissuing old figures. Anyone who complains about Hasbro prices must not have spent much time looking at old figures on the after-market. Retro Beast is a nice $200 when you can find him. I’m totally willing pay Hasbro $39.99 for a reissue instead of $200. For new collectors this is a huge deal. Even though the reissues are not figures I am interested in, it means eventually I will get ones I am. I have fairly modern figures and I would not hesitate to upgrade them if there was an improvement. Rumor is there’s a new Jim Lee Cyclops next year, I’m guessing Gamer verse. If that effect and head sculpt is good Yeah I’ll upgrade 1-2 of my cyclops. Is it marginal? Yes but if I like it better totally worth it to me. I think everyone is really nailing Hasbro when they have very real budgetary constraints and facing economic pressures like everyone else. I’ll take what I can get, because I’d rather have that than nothing. I make things work with what I can.
  7. Ou I'm sorry. You're going to get more Cyclops, More Jean, More Wolverine, More Gambit and More Rogue. Thanks for playing. Better luck next time. I am 100% with you. I really genuinely love the 97 line and I do want some repeats, I wan tot finish the season 1 finale team so I need morph, and Cable, in a darker blue than the capcom look. I also really want a Generation x jubilee for the animated x force and a classic Jim lee Jubilee which we all wanted over her Vampire look. There are so many different characters, they are crowding the releases with repeats and its frustrating. They really need to be on yearly release of 6 card backs for a wave of new characters, 2-3 two packs for repeat characters and 1-2 deluxes a year. On their current schedule we kind of get screwed in the since by time we could fill in desires from season 2, next year they will already be pushing season 3... with more cyclops, Jean, Wolverine et al. We still haven't gotten a Bastion, or forge. I am huge a huge defender of a proper Mr. sinister with a show accurate cape instead of the flimsy mess we have that was also just a cell shaded repaint. Now that we have Guyrich, I really want a Trask head with another morph (or mystique). Like you I also want to round out cartoon X-Factor and X-force.
  8. Where the f@$& is reto beast???? If they are holding out because of a Doomsday Beast, and its any body (minus the addition of pinless) and paint job contrary to retro beast, I will riot in the comments.
  9. Just so you two know... i just saw its up for pre order on BBTS, at least as of 10:22 PM MST August 20, good luck! Correction/Edit: It is on waitlist, still if another comes in you will automatically receive it via shipping or pile of loot. I assume more WILL come in with the shipments so... its likely to lock one. High odds anyway
  10. Season 2 ended a week ago.. what a letdown. Issue isn't what happened per say, just the poor story telling quality at the end. First four episodes super cohesive and building to a place, to let the last 5 just... spill onto the floor. I think the mastery of Season 1 was the epic three part finally that was deeply interconnected. The end of season 2 felt rushed, sloppy and just... there. I don't know, but its almost like they took De Mayo's plan for 1-4 and then said we're gonna do own thing. Overall its fine, it's not horrible and I'm grateful to have it, It's just a disappointment compared to the mastery of Season 1. And it feels so much like the effort and capital built in the first four episodes was then squandered. I would love to hear the views of people who disagree with me, either that it was genuinely great, or absolute terrible. I'm kind of in the middle, but overall disappointed. Again, I wish to stress not because i didn't get something I wanted or expected, but because of the storytelling itself. I don't take issue with the conclusion content wise, simply how it unfolded and presented. The Best thing out of Season 2 will be the wave 4 figures and future releases, but Hasbro is going to have a hard time keeping up.
  11. Yeah so I landed two at BBTS. I was on it and done in the first minute. I was actually hoping for Amazon because I have prime and could avoid shipping and could save a couple bucks. Did anyone ever see him released on Amazon??? It is insane how quickly he sold out. Also landed 3 SDCC Xavier's on pulse as a non member. Not a scalper, each belongs in a place or to a team (including, finally, a proper pin less body for that Guyrich head... they need to give us a season 1 finally/season 2 Morph with a Trask head please... i digress). The biggest want at this point, even more than the Nasty boys is a proper Retro Card beast release or just a new updated pin less Jim Lee Style Beast. Ill say it every chance and from the mountain tops. Prices have crept up to $180-$240 on Ebay. I appreciate Smeast (Smooth Beast) for the role he plays, but I have other teams where he just simply will not work. I wish those of you who were not lucky enough to score a Smeast out the gate luck in finding him. Just like 97' archangel who sold out and is now on pre order again, I'm certain more will come with the initial shipment and more after.
  12. Now that this has dropped, did anyone else notice mark Hamill's voice in the trailer?
  13. For the love of god, I hope the Xavier isn't a hot ticket item. I need three for parts of my collection and getting last years savage land three pack was MURDER. I did it but with great effort, I did secure it at retail too. I hope its lie the Mojo pack and a slow seller with enough left left over to scoop them up.
  14. And we get this before an X-Men 97 Premiere date? Shame! Shame! Shame! *Rings bell slowly and disgracefully walking past Kevin Feige's Office*
  15. Dear Dan Yun & Dwight Stall. Please consider the following 3 pack for 2028 SDCC exclusive (I assume next years is in pre production). D'ken with M'kron Crystal, Classic jumpsuit Leandra and a classic light/lime green repaint of phoenix. Also, I wouldn't mind some nasty boys. Your attention to these matters is greatly apricated. Signed, A Small Segment of the Marvel Legends Collecting Community.
  16. Probably another BAF re-release... Here's to looking at you Sauron. And Strong guy. And Onslaught. And Lizard. There is also high chances its an X-Men 97 Bastion because we all want it and they want to watch us squirm.
  17. What are the odds its something X men? I only collect X men, but seriously I feel like most years have been X men so either its an indication it will be X-Men again, or proof its time for something different... it will probably be a Retro Beast reissue just to piss us all off. We really need one of those and delay delay delay. Last I saw there were only two on ebay and around $150 each before shipping.
  18. Am I the only one Greatly annoyed that they are never announcing in advance the cost of things?? I'd do the cyclops visor as a display piece but 99.99 or 120 feels steep.
  19. Random thought, random post... am I the only one Who wants a Nasty Boys box set? Hairbag and Rukus on the shelf is a dream. I would also happily take a four horsemen boxset. Both of these scream SDCC Dan Yuen..
  20. Am I the only one to notice this drops in two days and no one has said anything about a price? Or did I just miss it?
  21. Hey, maybe the next livestream will be X men 97 figures and they can reveal information t like Funko, since you know its dropping this summer and we don't even have an official trailer. SO here's o the next live stream in April being X-Men 97 (fat chance but a guy can dream)
  22. Am I the only one who cant stop laughing or takes these seriously because of Deadpool and Wolverine?
  23. Is anyone else taking notice of only one livestream so far this year and its April? Has hasbro Officially scaled back and were going to see live streams ever other month? I feel like the last two years its been monthly. If they started scaling back last year or the year before with design, talk about perfect timing with the economy taking a sharp turn. They can feel free to reduce SRP since you know, Tariffs are invalidated by SCOTUS.
