  1. During an appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ben Affleck revealed that Kevin Feige has not contacted him about returning as Daredevil, but explicitly stated, "He hasn't. I wish he would." While Affleck noted that he generally feels finished with the superhero genre, he praised the Marvel Studios president as the ultimate Hollywood visionary and the only producer he truly trusts to know what audiences want. Affleck referred to Feige as "the greatest producer, most successful producer who ever lived." He recalled that Feige was actually standing right there on the set of the 2003 Daredevil film, but simply wasn't in charge at the time. Affleck joked that if he could go back in time to the Daredevil set, he would find Feige and say, "No, not you. You come here. Come here. What do you think we should do?" Reflecting on the 2003 film, Affleck poked fun at some of the script's directions, remembering how he questioned why his character was sniffing the air while talking about justice. "Is justice a smell?" he joked. Though Affleck believes he has otherwise moved past comic book roles, he made it clear that he would trust Feige's judgment implicitly if Marvel ever reached out with a multiversal pitch.
  2. Marvel Zombies is getting a new lease on life at Disney+, with Marvel Television and Marvel Animation chief Brad Winderbaum announcing plans for three annual animated specials during the studios’ panel at New York Comic Con. Rather than moving forward with a traditional second season, the series will return with a trio of two-part specials, each scheduled to premiere around Halloween in consecutive years, beginning in 2027. The first installment, Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier, is set for Halloween 2027 and will focus on Bucky Barnes. The special is expected to address the character’s fate following his encounter with Wanda Maximoff in the zombie-themed episode of Marvel’s What If...? The second special, Marvel Zombies: The Fist of Khonshu, will arrive around Halloween 2028, shifting the focus to Moon Knight and his connection to the Egyptian moon god Khonshu as the undead apocalypse continues. The trilogy will conclude with Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian in Halloween 2029. Winderbaum did not reveal the identity of the titular guardian, leaving the door open for speculation about which Marvel characters could take center stage in the final installment. A connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy remains a possibility, though Marvel has not confirmed any such link. The announcement establishes a multiyear future for the animated property, with each special set to expand the franchise’s zombie-infested corner of the Marvel universe. All three installments are scheduled to stream on Disney+.
  3. Marvel Television is bringing a new spy thriller to Disney+ with Zodiac, a mysterious live-action series scheduled to premiere in 2028. The studio unveiled the project’s first logo and shared additional details during its presentation at New York Comic Con on October 8. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, Animation and Comics, confirmed that production is scheduled to begin in London in spring 2027, with casting expected to get underway within the next few weeks. Although Marvel has yet to reveal specific plot details or announce the cast, Winderbaum confirmed that Zodiac will take a spy-thriller approach. He also suggested that the newly revealed logo contains clues about the series’ direction. “If you're a fan of the comics, there's a lot hidden in that logo,” Winderbaum teased during the presentation, adding that the project’s secrets would remain under wraps for now. The series’ title draws from Marvel Comics history, where several characters and organizations have been associated with the name Zodiac. One notable incarnation is a criminal organization known as the Zodiac Cartel, which has pursued political and economic control on a global scale. The organization’s connections to the wider Marvel universe have fueled speculation about the series’ potential ties to S.H.I.E.L.D., the intelligence agency previously led by Nick Fury. However, Marvel has not officially confirmed which version of Zodiac will serve as the foundation for the show. The spy-thriller format could provide Marvel with an opportunity to explore the more secretive corners of its cinematic universe, potentially shifting the focus away from the superhero spectacle that has defined many of its recent productions. The announcement of Zodiac comes as Marvel Television continues to shape its upcoming streaming lineup. The series is among the studio’s new projects following changes to its television slate, including the cancellation of Wonder Man after its renewal and the planned conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again with its third season. Meanwhile, VisionQuest, the concluding chapter of the trilogy that began with WandaVision, is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 14. The animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is also set to return for its second season in January 2027, while X-Men ’97 is expected to continue with a third season. With filming planned for next spring and a 2028 premiere window, Zodiac remains one of Marvel’s more closely guarded upcoming projects. More details about its cast, creative team and place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have yet to be announced.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in theaters Dec. 18.
  5. Marvel Comics and WEBTOON have announced that a new Marvel Comics app will launch November 16, taking over as the primary digital home for Marvel’s massive comics library. The platform, built and operated by WEBTOON, will eventually replace the longtime Marvel Unlimited service, which is scheduled to shut down completely on December 28. The new app will feature more than 35,000 digital comics spanning the Marvel Universe as well as franchises including Star Wars and Alien, bringing a broad selection of titles from Walt Disney and 20th Century Studios under one digital roof. For existing Marvel Unlimited subscribers, the transition is designed to be relatively painless. Readers will have the ability to migrate their libraries, reading histories and pull lists to the new platform. The service will launch with two subscription options. The Base tier will cost $9.99 per month or $69.99 annually and will provide access to the full archive, with new print issues arriving digitally three months after their physical release. For readers who want newer comics sooner, the Ultimate tier will cost $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year. Subscribers will be able to access new print issues just 30 days after they arrive in comic shops. There’s also an early deal for fans, tied to New York Comic Con. A limited-time Founding Member offer gives eligible users a full year of the Ultimate tier for $59.99 if they pre-register online or sign up at the convention booth. Beyond its massive catalog, the new platform aims to make finding and keeping up with comics easier. WEBTOON is bringing its digital expertise to features including personalized recommendations, digital pull lists and a redesigned interface intended to provide a faster, smoother reading experience across mobile and web.
  6. Amazon MGM Studios is nearing a green light for a new television series based on Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man Clone Saga, according to Deadline. The potential Prime Video series would focus on Spider-Man clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. The project is being developed by Kelvin Yu, creator of American Born Chinese. Representatives for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television declined to comment. The series would follow Spider-Noir, which Prime Video canceled this month after one season. The series starred Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, whose superhero identity was the title character. In the comics, however, Spider-Man Noir is an alternate version of Peter Parker. The television adaptation changed the character's identity as part of the rights arrangements surrounding the project. Plot details for the new series remain limited, and sources caution that the eventual adaptation could differ substantially from the comics. In Marvel's comics, Ben Reilly is a Spider-Man clone who eventually adopts the superhero identity Scarlet Spider. His name combines the first name of Peter Parker's Uncle Ben with the maiden name of Aunt May. Kaine Parker is an earlier, physically flawed clone of Peter Parker. The original Clone Saga is known for one of its most controversial story developments: Ben Reilly was temporarily revealed to be the "real" Spider-Man, while Peter Parker was identified as the clone. The storyline was later reversed following a strong backlash from readers. The new series is part of a broader agreement between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television to develop multiple television projects based on Sony's Marvel-related intellectual property. The slate is primarily focused on characters connected to the Spider-Man universe. Like Spider-Noir, the proposed series is expected to receive a linear debut on Amazon's MGM+ before becoming available to stream on Prime Video. Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who oversee Sony's Spider-Man television universe and executive produced Spider-Noir, are expected to executive produce the new series alongside Yu.
  7. The cast of Avengers: Doomsday has teamed up for a theater ad asking audiences to silence their phones. The short promo is now playing in theaters with Avengers: Endgame Encore, which also includes extra footage filmed during the production of Avengers: Doomsday. Costumed members of the Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four settle in for a movie—until a smartphone rings and prompts a chorus of complaints. Among the heroes featured are Channing Tatum’s Gambit, Letitia Wright’s Shuri, Florence Pugh’s Yelena, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, James Marsden’s Cyclops, Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique, and Tenoch Huerta’s Namor.
  8. Marvel’s fan-favorite little glob Symbie is getting the spotlight in Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1, a special one-shot from Amazing Spider-Man writer Joe Kelly and artist David Baldeón. The issue will pull back the curtain on Symbie’s mysterious past while taking readers on a journey into the origins of the Klyntar, the symbiote race behind iconic characters including Venom and Carnage. Originally created by the team behind Disney Jr.’s Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Symbie made his Marvel Comics debut in Amazing Spider-Man #11, written by Joe Kelly and illustrated by Pepe Larraz. Since then, the pint-sized symbiote has continued popping up across Marvel’s comic universe. Now, Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1 promises to answer the question fans have been asking since the character first appeared: Where did Symbie actually come from? According to Marvel, the one-shot will revisit the earliest days of the Klyntar race and explore the journey that ultimately led to Symbie’s arrival in the Marvel Universe. Spidey may have first encountered the unusual creature in space, but there’s clearly much more to this adorable little monster than meets the eye. Kelly says Symbie’s combination of cuteness and something considerably more sinister was part of what immediately made the character stand out. The writer also teased the unusual tone of the upcoming story, describing it as “funny, layered, surprisingly dark, and flat out weird.” That contrast could make Symbie an especially intriguing addition to Marvel’s increasingly expansive symbiote mythology. After all, a tiny, seemingly adorable symbiote running around without a host sounds cute—until you start thinking about what that actually means. Amaz¬ing Spider-Man: Symbie #1 will feature a main cover by Pepe Larraz, who also illustrated Symbie’s first comic-book appearance. Variant covers will come from David Baldeón and Pere Pérez. In addition to the main story and its exploration of secret symbiote lore, the one-shot will include a bonus backup story by writer/artist Jacob Chabot, drawing on the same spirit as the popular Symbie Infinity Comic. Amazing Spider-Man: Symbie #1 is scheduled for release this December. Fans can preorder the issue through their local comic shop. 9. Sebastian Stan says he pitched Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige on a solo Bucky Barnes movie inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s 2015 crime drama Sicario. In a recent interview with Vulture, Stan revealed that he floated the idea of a smaller-scale solo film centered on Bucky and a deeply personal mission. The concept, he acknowledged, was offered “half-joking,” but Feige apparently was receptive. “We keep a real small budget,” Stan said. “It’s about a guy who thinks he recognizes someone from his past that had something to do with when, you know, he was brainwashed, and he gets obsessed with this person. He goes on a whole journey to try to figure out who this person is. It’s a thriller.” The proposed movie would mark a departure from Marvel’s typically sprawling superhero fare, trading world-ending stakes for a more intimate story rooted in Bucky’s complicated history and psychological scars. For now, however, there’s no indication that a standalone Bucky Barnes film is moving forward. Stan is set to reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday this December, with the actor also potentially returning for next year’s Avengers: Secret Wars.
  10. Prime Video's Spider-Noir won five awards at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys just days after being canceled by the streamer. The Nicolas Cage-starrer won five awards, including cinematography, sound editing, stunt coordination, title design, and special visual effects in a single episode. It went into the weekend with 11 nominations, the most for any Prime Video series this year. Marvel Animations's Eyes of Wakanda also picked up an Emmy, part of Disney's huge weekend, earning over ten awards. The series stood victorious alongside Disney’s The Muppet Show, The Bear, and Star Wars: Visions claiming a juried Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. Uzoma Dunkwu was recognized for his character design in the episode "Into The Lion's Den." Unlike regular competitive categories, juried Emmy awards do not have standard nominees. Panels of peer-group professionals evaluate entries and can give zero, one, or multiple awards.
  11. Noah Jupe has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars in an undisclosed role, according to Deadline. The pic is expected to begin production later this year. Marvel declined to comment on Jupe’s casting. Details surrounding his character are being kept under wraps, though the role is expected to play a key part in the sprawling ensemble pic slated to hit theaters Dec. 17, 2027. Jupe most recently appeared opposite Sadie Sink in the West End production of Romeo & Juliet, earning strong reviews during its summer run. Sink made her Marvel debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is currently in theaters.
  12. Electronic Arts has confirmed that footage from its long-in-development Iron Man video game leaked online Sunday, acknowledging the unauthorized release while teasing that there is “a lot more to show” when the project is ready. The publisher confirmed the leak in a statement to Kotaku and pointed fans to a newly created X account for the game. The footage appears to be an unfinished trailer or gameplay presentation, featuring Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit as he flies through city streets and beneath bridges while battling heavily armored enemies. Other sequences show Stark working on suit technology, suggesting the game will combine high-flying superhero action with elements centered on his life as an inventor. The footage also appears to feature a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier and potentially other familiar Marvel characters, although EA has not confirmed the identities of all the figures shown. Motive Studio’s Iron Man project was first announced in 2022. The studio has described it as a single-player, third-person action-adventure game built around an original story. EA’s latest response stops short of revealing a release date or additional details, but its acknowledgment of the leak suggests the publisher is preparing to make a more formal reveal when the game is further along.
  13. Cody Rhodes is fueling speculation that his next career move could take him from the WWE ring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The WWE star recently shared a photo from inside Marvel Studios’ offices in Burbank, CA, on his Instagram Story, prompting fans to wonder what brought The American Nightmare to the home of the MCU. Rhodes did not provide any context for the visit, and there is no confirmation that he has been cast in an upcoming Marvel project. For now, any connection between Rhodes and Marvel remains strictly speculative. Still, the possibility is not entirely out of left field. Rhodes has been open about his ambitions beyond professional wrestling, including his interest in acting and comic book roles. He previously said that his decision to move to Los Angeles was partly motivated by his acting aspirations. During an appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Rhodes was asked which X-Men character he would want to play. A longtime fan of the franchise, Rhodes responded favorably when Cable was floated as a possibility. Whether the Marvel Studios visit was related to a potential acting opportunity remains unknown. But with Rhodes already established as one of WWE’s biggest stars, a move into the superhero world would certainly be a headline-making next chapter.
  14. The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Secret Wars Expansion is now available, bringing one of Marvel Comics’ biggest reality-shattering events to the tabletop. The 256-page hardcover expands Marvel’s d616 role-playing system with a campaign framework centered on Battleworld, the patchwork planet created from the remnants of a destroyed multiverse. The expansion comes from writers Matt and Marty Forbeck and Alex Irvine and is designed to be used with the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game Core Rulebook. At the center of Secret Wars is a familiar but radically transformed Marvel setting: Battleworld. The multiverse has been destroyed and its surviving fragments have been assembled into a single world ruled by God Emperor Doom. Players are given an adventuring framework that lets them travel across Battleworld's disparate lands while attempting to save what remains of the Marvel Multiverse. That setup gives the RPG something particularly useful for a tabletop campaign: an excuse to put virtually any Marvel character, alternate reality or genre into the same story. A campaign can jump between wildly different corners of the Marvel cosmos without having to explain away every continuity contradiction. That's essentially the appeal of Secret Wars translated into role-playing form — the multiverse isn't a problem to solve. It's the playground. The expansion isn't simply a collection of Battleworld lore. Marvel says the book includes new rules for handling Rank X characters, the game's highest tier of power, intended for characters whose abilities operate on an almost unbelievable scale. Marvel Studios' Avengers: Secret Wars movie is currently scheduled for December 17, 2027, following Avengers: Doomsday in December. While the RPG expansion is based on the comics rather than serving as an adaptation of the upcoming film, the arrival of the book places the tabletop game squarely in the middle of renewed mainstream interest in Marvel's multiverse.
  15. Spider-Man swung into D23 on Saturday, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Jacob Batalon and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man showrunner Jeff Trammell taking the stage to celebrate 65 years of the iconic Marvel superhero. Tom Holland was not on hand for the presentation, but the actor appeared in a video message for fans. “Playing Peter Parker is my dream, and getting to live that dream has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Holland said. The presentation also delivered a surprise tied to Brand New Day. Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton will sit down for an interview that will appear in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #1000, a milestone issue arriving in September. The oversized comic will pit Spider-Man against Ravage, described as the hero’s first new fear-inducing and formidable villain in decades. The issue will also mark Fargo and Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley’s debut as a comic book writer. On the animation front, Disney+ offered a first look at Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which is set to debut in January 2027. The new season will introduce Gwen Stacy and Eddie Brock. The trailer also teased a chaotic gala attack by Doc Ock, who kidnaps Harry Osborn following a brief clash with Spider-Man. Things take an even darker turn later in the footage, when Spider-Man is exposed to Venom’s symbiote, setting up a potentially major transformation for the young hero. Disney Junior also had its own Spidey news. Alyssa Sapire, head of Disney Junior Original Programming, confirmed that Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been renewed for a seventh season. The announcement came alongside a first look at Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up, as well as the casting of musicians Este Haim and Patrick Stump as the villains Hallows Eve and Jack O’Lantern, respectively. With the year’s biggest film, an expansive animated universe and a milestone comic on the horizon, Spider-Man’s 65th-anniversary celebration made clear that the web-slinger remains one of Marvel’s busiest heroes.
  16. Marvel is launching a new ongoing Spider-Woman series this November, with writer Dan Watters and artist Andrea Broccardo taking Jessica Drew into what the publisher describes as her darkest chapter yet. The new series follows the creative team's story in September's Spider-Woman 50th Anniversary Special #1 and spins out of events in Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity #5, where Jessica Drew comes into possession of one of Marvel's most dangerous villains. The development sets the stage for a noir-tinged mystery that returns the character to her roots as a private investigator. In the new ongoing title, Jessica teams with journalist Ben Urich to investigate crimes and conspiracies lurking in the darker corners of the Marvel Universe. As the cases grow increasingly dangerous, she's forced to confront the darkness within herself while keeping the bloodthirsty Carnage under control. The anniversary special, due out in September, also features a backup story from Daredevil writer Ann Nocenti, who returns to the character alongside artist Stefano Raffaele for a story celebrating Spider-Woman's 50-year history. Watters said the ongoing series expands on the version of Jessica introduced in the anniversary issue. "I'm over the moon that Andrea and I are continuing the story of the mysterious Spider-Woman we start in the Anniversary special," Watters said. "Investigating leads too dangerous for the Daily Bugle's journalists, Jess will uncover some of the strangest crimes in New York City. And in a town like this? That's saying a lot." Broccardo said the title leans heavily into detective noir while incorporating horror elements that are new for the character. "I'm super excited to be part of Jessica Drew's new chapter," Broccardo said. "This series is a detective noir story, with Jessica tormented by something that changes her life, her superhero behavior and her approach to the cases as a detective. It also has horror and gore, which is unusual for Spider-Woman, but super stimulating for me." Marvel's new Spider-Woman #1 arrives in comic shops this November, marking the beginning of a new ongoing era for Jessica Drew as the publisher continues its celebration of the character's 50th anniversary. 17. Marvel’s “Big Guns” crossover is getting more dangerous as Bullseye enters the battle between Deadpool and Punisher, while the mysterious Black Hole’s larger plan begins to come into focus. The four-part crossover from writer Benjamin Percy, with artwork by Shaw and José Luis Soares, continues in October following its September launch. The series brings together Percy’s acclaimed runs on Wade Wilson: Deadpool and Punisher for a violent showdown between Marvel’s two most unpredictable antiheroes. Percy revealed details about the crossover’s second half during Marvel Comics’ “Next Big Thing” panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel also debuted new cover art, connecting variant artwork by Josemaria Casanovas, and preview pages from the opening chapters. “Big Guns” begins when Deadpool’s latest mission puts him directly in Punisher Frank Castle’s sights. As Wade Wilson takes on a high-risk job, Castle moves to settle a score, setting off a conflict built around bullets, chaos and the unlikely collision of two characters known for their extreme methods. New covers by Shaw and David Marquez introduce additional threats, including Bullseye, one of Marvel’s most lethal marksmen, and Black Hole, the mysterious figure manipulating events behind the scenes. Casanovas’ connecting covers also reveal more of Deadpool’s new vehicle, the Merc Mobile, which will serve as his mobile base of operations. “I had The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly in my head from the very beginning, so I needed that third player on the board — and my mind immediately went to Bullseye,” Percy said. “His chaotic energy matched the plot and his perfect marksmanship makes him a deadly addition to the “Big Guns” lineup.” Percy added that readers can expect further revelations about Black Hole’s abilities and additional surprises involving the Merc Mobile as the crossover continues. “Big Guns” launches in September and continues through its four-issue run, bringing together Deadpool, Punisher, Bullseye and other forces in a battle where no one is expected to emerge unscathed. WADE WILSON: DEADPOOL #8 TARGET: FRANK CASTLE! Deadpool’s got a new mission! A new vehicle! And a new... ENEMY? Wait, are we talking about Frank Castle? "BIG GUNS" starts here, as multiple forces converge on the ultimate weapon...but only one can emerge victorious! PUNISHER #8 TARGET: WADE WILSON! As the spectacle of the summer rolls on, Frank Castle finds himself at odds with the Regeneratin' Degenerate, Deadpool! But not all is as it seems, as a mysterious interloper seems to be manipulating circumstances and people alike, setting the duo on a collision course with calamity! WADE WILSON: DEADPOOL #9 TARGET: BULLSEYE! Punisher and Deadpool are hunting the same weapon as Black Hole…but what good’s a gun without the greatest marksman of all time to aim it? Sounds like a job for Bullseye! PUNISHER #9 THE GOOD, THE BAD(POOLS) AND THE MERCS! Black Hole pulls Deadpool and Punisher into his deadly trap, as the Badpools and Bullseye make their own plays! The chaotic climax to the wildest crossover of the year concludes with a dramatic addition to Frank Castle’s plans going forward (as well as Wade’s fortunes!)
  18. Following his surprise in-costume appearance during Marvel’s Hall H presentation at Comic-Con on Saturday, Ryan Reynolds embraced his “Nicepool” persona by sharing a behind-the-scenes video of his undercover visit with fans while roaming the floor of the San Diego Convention Center. “The fans got Deadpool off the ground so many years ago,” wrote Reynolds on X. “Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world.”
  19. Marvel's next major Hulk event is taking shape—and before Hulk War officially begins in 2027, the Jade Giant is set to leave a trail of fallen heroes in his wake. During the publisher's Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, Marvel unveiled the full lineup of its Infernal Hulk Vs. one-shots, a four-part series that will bridge Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein's acclaimed Infernal Hulk run into next year's crossover event. The oversized one-shots will roll out monthly from September through December, beginning with Infernal Hulk vs. Wolverine #1, followed by Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1, Infernal Hulk vs. Spider-Man #1, and Infernal Hulk vs. Avengers #1. Each issue finds the demonic incarnation of Hulk—now controlled by an ancient evil known as the Eldest—clashing with another corner of the Marvel Universe as he builds toward an all-out conquest. According to Marvel, the battles will also chronicle the rise of the Infernal Avengers, a twisted team of corrupted heroes first teased in this year's Amazing Spider-Man #1000/Queen in Black #1 Comics Giveaway Day special. "MARCH TO HULK WAR kicks off the final act of our story that Nic Klein and I started with Incredible Hulk #1 in 2023," Johnson said during the Comic-Con panel. "It's a series of one-shot battles between Infernal Hulk and Earth's mightiest heroes, as Hulk gathers his terrifying Infernal Avengers for Hulk War. The one-shots feature one of the most epic rivalries in comics, Infernal Hulk vs. Wolverine, and an ending that I'm expecting to shock some people." Marvel previously announced Infernal Hulk vs. Wolverine #1, illustrated by Jonas Scharf, but Comic-Con marked the first reveal of the complete lineup. The remaining issues pair Johnson with Cian Tormey on Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1, Javier Pina on Infernal Hulk vs. Spider-Man #1, while the artist for Infernal Hulk vs. Avengers #1 has yet to be announced. The escalating story sees Wolverine tracking down abducted mutants, the Fantastic Four defending Reed Richards' mysterious "Immaculate Engine" from Hulk's forces, Spider-Man launching a desperate rescue mission after the fall of the Baxter Building, and the Avengers making one final stand after nearly every major hero has succumbed to Infernal Hulk's corrupting influence. Johnson said revisiting some of Marvel's most memorable superhero brawls helped shape the new series, but he promises readers shouldn't expect a greatest-hits retread. "The most fun aspect of this series were rereading old Marvel battles, reminding myself what's been done and how hard we've been willing to go in the past," he said. "Be advised: there were discussions about how violent we could go with these one-shots. I want to keep ramping up the horror vibe of the Hulk series, and for our readers to see things in these one-shots they've never seen before. On both counts, I promise we'll deliver." The road to Hulk War begins in September with Infernal Hulk vs. Wolverine #1, with the remaining one-shots arriving monthly through December before Marvel's next Hulk event launches in 2027.
  20. The galaxy's deadliest hunter is setting its sights on Marvel’s most dangerous antihero. Announced during Marvel Comics' Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Predator vs. Punisher is a four-issue limited series from writer Frank Tieri (Alien vs. Captain America) and artist Jesús Saíz (Eddie Brock: Carnage), arriving this November. The crossover pits Frank Castle against the iconic extraterrestrial hunter in a matchup comic book fans have imagined for years. When a Predator touches down in New York City in search of worthy prey, it finds an unlikely rival in the Punisher. As crime bosses begin dropping and the streets descend into chaos, Castle finds himself caught in a bloody collision featuring some of Marvel's most notorious underworld figures, including Kingpin, Jigsaw, Silvermane, the Owl, and more. "This is the series that'll answer the age old question of who is pop culture's greatest killing machine," Tieri said. "Fans know I've written the Punisher before—in everything from Punisher Noir to the legendary Space: Punisher—but this is the first time I'm actually tackling the Predator. And as a teen who was front row glued to his seat in the theater as Arnold yelled, 'Get to the Choppa!' pitting these two against each other is especially a thrill for me." According to Tieri, the story begins with the Predator starting a mob war involving some of Marvel's biggest crime bosses—but that's only part of the hunt. "Our story sees the Predator instigating a mob war between some of Marvel's biggest gangland characters—but the thing is, we'll quickly realize the mob might not be his only target... but rather a certain vigilante with a skull on his chest, as well," he said. "Fans can expect—SPOILER ALERT—a $%^& ton of blood and violence, but also a lot of twists and turns... including an unexpected shared past between our two combatants. 'If it bleeds we can kill it.' The only question will be... who is it that ends up getting killed?" Editor Mark Paniccia promises the creative team delivers exactly the kind of brutal showdown fans are hoping for. "Seeing two iconic killers test each other in ways neither expects is a guilty joy," Paniccia said. "Frank Tieri and Jesús Saíz are the perfect choice to deliver a showdown this ruthless, visceral, and unforgettable. They've created an instant classic!"
  21. Marvel announced two new post-Queen in Black series at San Diego Comic-Con: Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane by Ashley Allen and Phil Noto, and Venom by Charles Soule and Tommaso Bianchi. The fall titles spin directly out of Marvel’s Queen in Black crossover, sending Eddie Brock, Venom, and Mary Jane Watson into new status quos. Eddie reunites with Venom and returns as the Lethal Protector, while MJ leaves the symbiote behind to launch a new New York business alongside Black Cat, Iron Man, and other Marvel players. Venom #1, launching in October, reveals how Eddie and Venom reconnect and what mission comes next. Soule said relaunching Venom with Bianchi has been “thrilling,” praising the artist’s “astonishing” work and teasing a fast-paced, provocative new take on the character. MJ’s next chapter follows her time bonded to the Venom symbiote after Venom War. Allen and Noto will tell that story in Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane, a five-issue limited series launching in November. Allen said MJ is ready to “plot her own story,” though her entertainment ambitions may put her directly in someone else’s way. Queen in Black #1 arrives July 29, followed by Queen in Black: Venom Unchained #1 and Queen in Black #2 on August 5.

  23. Sony and Insomniac Games have just released the "Ain't No Hero" cinematic trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, offering a raw, brutal look at Logan's inner torment and savage combat style ahead of the game's September 15 launch on PlayStation 5.
  24. Marvel Comics is pulling up stakes in New York after nearly 90 years, with the Disney-owned publisher set to shift its comics and franchise operations to Burbank as part of a sweeping restructuring that also names a new editor-in-chief. Staffers were told of the move during a town hall at Marvel’s Midtown New York office. The publishing division will relocate to Burbank, California, where Marvel Studios and parent company The Walt Disney Company are based. The leadership change puts Stephen Wacker atop Marvel Comics as editor-in-chief, succeeding C.B. Cebulski, who has led the division since 2017. Cebulski will remain with the company, relocating to Japan to lead Marvel’s manga push and other Asia-originated projects as editor, Asia originals. The moves are designed to jump-start Marvel’s comics business, which has been eclipsed in recent years by the company’s film and television success and has ceded its longtime market-share lead. The shift, backed by Marvel chief Kevin Feige, brings the comics operation closer to Disney’s Burbank base and is being positioned internally as a long-term investment in the source material that fuels Marvel’s broader storytelling engine. Feige led the town hall alongside Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of television, animation, comics and franchise, and David Abdo, recently named general manager, comics and franchise. The move marks a major break with comic-book history. New York has long been viewed as the birthplace of the industry, and Marvel predecessors Timely Comics and Atlas Comics were based on 42nd Street. The city was home to many of Marvel’s defining creators, including Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, and to signature characters including the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and Spider-Man. It also leaves New York without a major comic-book publisher. DC moved its headquarters to Warner Bros.’ Burbank lot in 2015. The relocation had been under review for months. Marvel’s lease at its Avenue of the Americas office expires next year, forcing a decision on its New York footprint, while the company also explored consolidating its businesses in one city for the first time since Disney acquired Marvel in 2009. After the new Marvel Comics leadership team arrived in May, it began meeting with New York staff to gauge whether such a consolidation would be feasible. As part of that review, the company assessed where its comic creators are based. While many creators once lived in the Tri-State area, Marvel’s current creator network is global, and more of its U.S.-based creators are now in California than in New York. “New York has played a huge part in who Marvel is as a company, and in the pages of our comics,” Winderbaum and Abdo wrote in the memo. “While our network of writers and artists is now an international operation, New York is still woven into our DNA and that will never change. Our colleagues in New York have helped shape generations of stories and characters, and their contributions to Marvel’s legacy cannot be overstated.” Marvel is asking just over 100 New York-based employees in the comics and franchise group to relocate to California by July 2027. Among those heading to Burbank is Wacker, who returns to Marvel after departing in the early 2020s to lead Jonathan Hickman’s worldbuilding venture 3W3M and later co-found entertainment studio Stone Kite. Known for strong creator relationships, Wacker spent more than 15 years at Marvel, overseeing Spider-Man runs including the “Brand New Day” and “Superior Spider-Man” eras. He also edited Daredevil and Hawkeye during Eisner-winning runs and was involved in the introduction of Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. Wacker also has worked across Marvel’s animation, television and digital media businesses. His credits include co-producing the Emmy-nominated Rocket & Groot animated series in 2017 and executive producing Marvel’s Wastelanders audio series. Cebulski exits as the third-longest-serving editor-in-chief in Marvel’s nearly 90-year history. His tenure included the relaunch of the Ultimate Universe and the “Krakoan Age” of X-Men comics. With deep ties to Japan, he also led Marvel’s manga partnership with Shonen Jump, which produced titles including Deadpool Samurai and Spider-Man: Octo-Girl. Wacker will report to Winderbaum, while Cebulski will join Wacker’s global leadership team. The full memo to staff, as published in The Hollywood Reporter, is below: Team, We just wrapped a town hall with the team in New York and wanted to share some important Marvel Comics and Franchise news with everyone. As we look toward the future, we’ve made the decision to relocate the Comics and Franchise division to Marvel’s central headquarters in Burbank, California. This move will position the team beside our broader creative organization and create opportunities for collaboration across both Marvel and Disney. Our goal is simple: to continue to make the best comic books in the business. Bringing our comics, film, television, and other creative teams together will help us learn from one another, collaborate, and build on the strengths that make Marvel the true House of Ideas. New York has played a huge part in who Marvel is as a company, and in the pages of our comics. While our network of writers and artists is now an international operation, New York is still woven into our DNA and that will never change. Our colleagues in New York have helped shape generations of stories and characters, and their contributions to Marvel’s legacy cannot be overstated. We sincerely hope they choose to continue that journey with us in California. We are committed to supporting every affected employee throughout this transition, which will take place over the next 12 months. We also announced today that Stephen Wacker has been named Marvel Comics’ new Editor-in-Chief. Many of you know Stephen from his years at Marvel between 2006 and 2022. He is a tremendous editor, a passionate advocate for creators, and someone who deeply understands that Marvel Comics is the source code of our entire enterprise. Stephen will be at SDCC and will officially join us in Burbank the week of July 27 before spending time in New York the first week of August. We’re excited for everyone who doesn’t know him to get to know him. At the same time, longtime Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski will be stepping into a new role overseeing APAC-originated graphic fiction and manga, based in Japan. This opportunity reflects both C.B.’s passion for the medium and the tremendous potential we see in that space. We’re deeply grateful for his leadership, partnership, and stewardship of the Marvel line over the past decade and are fortunate to have him spearheading this new endeavor for us. We know this has been a year of significant change for Marvel. Through all of it, this team has continued to show up with creativity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to great storytelling. That commitment is the foundation of everything we do, and it’s what will carry us into this next chapter. For our New York colleagues, we’ll be sharing additional details very soon, and we’re available to answer questions and support you through the transition. Thank you for everything you do for Marvel and for the fans we serve. Brad & David
  25. Marvel’s long-discussed Nova project may finally be blasting off again. Michael Waldron, the writer behind Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the creator of Chad Powers, is developing a feature film centered on the cosmic comic book hero for Marvel Studios. The project is still in the early stages, but Waldron is attached to write the script and could also direct if the film moves forward. Marvel had previously explored Nova as a television series, with Sabir Pirzada writing, before that version was shelved in 2025. The character, who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1976, is best known as a member of the Nova Corps, an intergalactic police force that gives him powers including super strength, flight, and heightened durability. Waldron already has deep Marvel roots. In addition to writing the Doctor Strange sequel, he served as showrunner on Loki, one of the studio’s most high-profile Disney+ series. For Marvel fans, the news marks another sign that the studio is still looking beyond Earth for its next wave of heroes — and Nova could be one of the biggest cosmic names waiting in the wings.
