  1. Look at pip's gut makes me kind of glad they gave him clothes in his more recent appearances
  2. In the original spiderverse vomic, it was one of the Spiders that he and ultimate cartoon spidey recruited and rode. Yes, it is essentially a talking car.
  3. The deluxe will probably be some form of Groot. I still think the GOTG 3 wave will be all MCU though.
  4. (NOTE: DO NOT MAKE this thread about the prices. They stink but not what we are talking about). Many people are still debating about whether they should get rid of BAF and replace them with Deluxe sets. However, I think Hasbro has been doing something different with the BAF, at least for the comic ones. Instead of putting big name characters as BAFs, like Rhino and Thanos, they have been putting obscure characters that would probably never sell as well as a deluxe as the previous mentioned characters. Just looking at the last few BAF, people wouldn't have heard of Bonebreaker, Controller, Armadillo, Mr. Hyde, Stilt Man or Ursa Major so many people wouldn't be rushing to complete these BAF. They are obscure enough that they would not really sell as well as a Deluxe. So having them as BAF is a way better move for Hasbro. Now you may say that you would buy them if they were deluxe, but like it has been said before, we are a small portion of Hasbro sales. You may buy them, but most retail shoppers wouldn't. As for the Deluxe, Hasbro has struck a balance of giving us the characters people would know, via the comics, movies or cartoon. A figure of Rhino, Classic Thanos, Lizard etc would sell no matter what as they are fan favourites. Now there are a few exceptions to this, like the Knull set, but alot of them are using the Anniversary system to sell them, which given the prices, are geared towards the true collectors. Most of them are fan channels anyway so they wouldn't sell at retail anyway. As for the MCU BAF they are more decided via marketing and whether they appear in movies. MCU collector may finish them the rest of us won't. Look at the Korg BAF. Many people would have bought the previous version, so they wouldn't build him. Thanos and the Hulks are another. They have them in the previous version. The exception to these Rintrah or other character that have a minimum role in the Movies but that is due to Hasbro getting the concept art and thinking they may have a major role in the MCU. So in finishing, Hasbro are leaving the BAF as obscure characters and the Deluxes as well known characters. Let me know what you think.
  5. Actually this is not the first time Marvel turned their heroes into Dinos. In fact there is an entire universe where all the heroes are some form of Dino. So yeah Marvel was first. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-99476
  6. Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. Today, we finish off our look at the Spider-man Absorbing Man wave by looking at the Pack-in remote control car with a Maggia's boss' head attached to it, Silvermane. The mobster really needs to learn that we all grow old and will eventually die. Yes, I know this is not a full figure, but it is still a character in a form he had in the comics. I, like a lot of people, have been using the 3-pack Ultron as their body. I have also added Mangaverse, Mirror World and Nextwave Universe to the Misc Universe page. The next time we will begin looking at the first Captain America: Civil War wave (the Red Onslaught wave) by looking at the character that really started off Hasbro trying to complete the Serpent Society, Cottonmouth.
  7. so you want an exclusive to be a new character instead of just a repainted hulk?
  8. Hey, my fellow Plastic Addict. Last Friday we had a new figure reveal and today we had another, all of which are from the X-men: The Animated Series. Since I don't usually go deep into these characters, I did a quick NCS for Mystique (X-men: The Animated Series), Apocalypse (X-men: The Animated Series) and Nightcrawler (X-men: The Animated Series). Yes I know that last one doesn't have a proper figure (and probably never will) but I add an NCS for Baby Hulk, Qubit, Phlish or Silvermane, I'll have to do one for Baby Kurt. Speaking of Silvermane, I did a full NCS for the not-so fastest man alive, Speed Demon. Since I talked about the Superior Foes missing members last time with Beetle, let's talk about the missing Squadron members. Like Override, it's actually surprising we haven't gotten Dr. Spectrum, since he would be an easy repaint. Power Princess would be a bit harder but possible. If we got those 2, we would have the main members so no need to go too deep into this team. I also added the Larvel Earth, Loomworld, MC2 Universe and Other Earth Universe to the Misc universe page. Next time we will look at the Pack-in for Speed Demon, the aging mob boss with a cyborg body, Silvermane.
  9. Ryan confirmed this is Cartoon based for anyone wondering. I mean the figure is literally 1 to 1 with the image. Probably couldn't fit the figure into the VHS box without ruining the line-up/bookshelf style they were going for.
  10. for Monday's reveal it's sounds like it will be X-men based, considering Dan's latest tweet. so that mean either beast or Apocalypse.
  11. as for the GOTG wave, I can see that being a full MCU wave since it seems to have a bigger cast but Ant-man will more then likely be mixed.
  12. Yeah I have to agree that a third Retro Spidey wave seems likely now that they had to push by the Spider-verse wave. Doubt they would be able to make a BAF that fast.
  13. Mystique is one of the worst parent in all of comic. the fact that they keep trying to make her make up with the kids is like how people still think Joker and Harley Quinn are a good nice couple.
