What if the Shocker hadn't become the Vaporizer in the Spider-Man Homecoming movie and was given a chance to don his classic costume? I wondered that too and figured it was time for a fully-poseable movie style Shocker to make his...uh...shocking appearance! Ol Shocker here was created from a Star Wars Black series DJ, FO Snowtrooper lower legs, Marvel's Shocker head, backpack, and gauntlets (which happen to be the model as movie Crossbones) Dark knight Movie masters John Robin Blake police jacket,and all sorts of armor/fodder/tech bits/straps for his makeshift power pack. His gear was given the oily rusty metal treatment and finished his costume in his classic colors. Finally Warlock's energy blasts with some white bubbles made the perfect charge effect. Hasbro has revealed their second 2019 San Diego Comic Con 6" Marvel Legends exclusive today via THR. It will be a a 2-pack that features Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) from Thor: Ragnarok and The Collector (Benicio del Toro) from Guardians of the Galaxy. There will also be some of these made available at a other select conventions in North America, South America, Australia and Europe as well as select retailers in Asia. The EB Games booth at Fan Expo Canada will also be selling these. We also believe these will see a limited number made available on the Hasbro Pulse sometime after SDCC. Based on the packaging images, The Grandmaster figure seems to be pretty much the same figure released in the upcoming MCU set with the same staff, but you also will get the prison chair Thor was trapped in and a puddle of goo for disintegrating people with the staff. The Collector seems to come with an alternate head with sunglasses, the ball that encased the Infinity Gem and a prison box with Cosmo the Spacedog. It's unknown if Cosmo is removable from the cage. THR says there are four accessories, its hard to tell if the chair and Cosmos are actual accessories or just part of the packaging backdrops. We will update when we learn more. UPDATE: Upon further inspection of the images, it looks like the 4 accessories are simply the staff, the alternate head for The Collector, the puddle of goo and the sphere that held the Infinity Gem. Unfortunately that means the chair and the cage with Cosmo are just part of the packaging and not actual accessories. It's still not clear if those things are just drawings or 3D cardboard pieces similar to what we saw last year with the Netflix set and the subway.

Today I take a look at the new Marvel Legends 6" X-Men Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants (Magneto, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch) 3-pack from Hasbro which here in the US is being sold as an Amazon exclusive. I dont know... I have a feeling they will eventually release the collector single packed as well, probably with just one of the heads and no orb accessory which means that other than the extra head, the smiling grand master head and the pile of goo the only thing thatll mean this is an exclusive set will be the packaging, hasbro has done this on multiple ocasions (re-releasing sdcc exclusive figures later on in their normal ML or Black Series Lines) so I wouldnt put it past them to do the same with the collector, we might have to wait for the next Guardians Movie to see him but im pretty sure theyll release him for general public sometime (it seems too much of a waste of money on hasbro to sculpt and produce a brand new figure just to only sell him at sdcc)1 point

I'd really like to see them split some BAFs up over more than one wave, so they could do bigger figures. I wouldn't complain at all if next year there were two X-Men waves you needed to complete to build a single sentinel, for instance.1 point

While I'd love a Galactus or Celestials BAF I think the possibility that we ever get one of an acceptable size like the Toybiz days are long gone, lest we be happy with something of the sort that was that terribly disappointing Kree Sentry. Otherwise there are a few BAFs that I see as specific possibly next year 1. Strong Guy (of course) - this is a difficult design so I can see why it's taken so long, but this has got to be in the works. With the assumption that the upcoming 2 pack will be the 90's Havok & Polaris, the only 2 characters left are ol' Guido and Wolfsbane. 2. Nimrod - basically he's X-Men's version of Ultron, this character is constantly evolving so it's hard for them to pin down any particular look, but I believe the 80's JR,Jr version is the most iconic look. 3. Mister Hyde - this guy spans so many different comics and hero's histories it's crazy to think he hasn't been done yet. If the Avengers waves continue even though the main movie arch is over its easy to see him find his place in a comic based wave. Otherwise maybe we'll see him if the rumors of a Thunderbolts based wave become reality 4. Champion of the Universe - yes, he's BAF worthy. He clocks in over 9 feet tall which is as tall as the Hulk but top heavy with smaller legs (no quite as extreme as Strong Guy, though). This would mean that the BAF would be around the size of the inaccurate Sasquatch BAF. 5. Skaar - another one for the Thunderbolts roster. This was done as a single card in the early days of Hasbro ML, but it was bad, like as bad as it gets. Do it again, do it better and use the Gladiator Hulk base. It's halfway there, just tap it in the hole Hasbro. There are still so many left to do that are just riding the fence between demand and obscurity like Armour, Gentle, Ch'od, Battlestar & Iron Patriot (AIM) and is one that need redo like Red Hulk and Blob (I actually think Mojo & MODOK still hold up). Dragon man is just a matter of time. This list could actually go on forever depending on how deep one wants to go onto Marvel history.1 point

I kinda prefer the 2015 scarlet Witch because of the costume and I wish they would glue that cape on magneto because it always seems off centered but at least we finally got a good classic magneto1 point

Speaking as both a Funko collector and an old ToyBiz collector, that's a hearty heck no. I absolutely hate chase figures. Very few of the ToyBiz chases ever did enough to make me have to have them, and thankfully I tracked those down. But the way that Funko does it is just unreal, no way should Legends pull anything like that. Plus, during the "Return of Marvel Legends" phase or the prior 2 packs that closed out the dark age of Legends, the variants or chases were sometimes easier to find than the standard figures, and at times less desirable, like the orange Dan Ketch Ghost Rider compared to the blue one, or the gray suit Black Widow compared to the classic one.1 point

if I'm being totally honest - Hell no! It's a horrible idea. it was a good concept but failed due to store not ordering more cases. Plus with hasbro doing swappable head and repaint there is not need for chase variants.1 point

We see regular releases that fetch really high prices because they were hard to find (like Jim Lee Cyclops). Rare chase figures would just make that even worse and upset collectors.1 point

Chase figures were a bad idea in the Toybiz days, they were a bad idea in the early days of Hasbro’s relaunched Marvel Legends, and they’re a bad idea now. There are better ways to get new or variant figures out there, and if that means waiting for later waves or store exclusives I’m cool with that.1 point

It's technically already happened with the Vintage Punisher and the three "finger" variants. And don't think it's a good idea. These guys can be hard enough to find as is. That Hasbro hasn't done this to the extent that Toybiz did is a good thing. Also delete one of your threads. You only need one.1 point

If we're talking pure classic character, Then Dr. Doom is an absolute most. It is a shame that we don't have a new version yet. I would also like a new Mandarin. Maybe the suited body with new hands and hand. Green Goblin is a new head is also a good choice.1 point

What's black and white and red all over? The newest member of the symbiote family, Toxin! This tendriled hero was created from a medium ML body, Agent Venom head, Carnage tendril pack, hands and feet. I used Aves Fixit Sculpt and Pro-Create for the various ooze/tendril sculpt effects on his body and topped the figure off with an airbrushed paint job sealed with Liquitex acrylic semigloss varnish. Guardians of the Galaxy introduced Mantis to us, a naive bubbly girl...that wasn't anything like the comic character. Here I've given the MCU Mantis her comic roots including a brand new outfit! She was created using an Enchantress body, Mantis BAF head, BP Nakia lower arms/hands, Hope Summers lower legs, Darkness back spines for bra-fins, and a MTG Ciandra armor/Enchantress skirt mashup. The armor skirt is removable so he can go for a dip in the pool and you can swap between gripping or fighting hands. Two daggers were fashioned out of a bow and Mantis was given a sexy metallic paint job to get the job done. Now that's the deadly Mantis I remember from the comics! It's everyone's favorite homicidal robot Ultron and he's back for more punishment! Ultron never really goes away, he just upgrades himself and comes back stronger. Here I've created a battle-damaged Ultron using a Civil War Iron Man body, 3-pack Ultron head, old Toybiz Ultron lower arms, Beetle feet, and armor sections from magna-toys. Spikes were added to his back and all sorts of weathering, grime, oil splatter, and blast effects were applied to finish Ultron's look.
