Although Avengers: Doomsday isn't hitting theaters until December 2026, fans might get an early glimpse soon. Collider reports that the first footage from this major MCU team-up could debut alongside Disney's newest Avatar installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, though this is still unconfirmed.

Marvel caught attention earlier this year by unveiling cast chairs for their blockbuster, which included several unexpected returns. While not much is known about the film’s plot, at CinemaCon in April, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did reveal that the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and the original X-Men will be fighting Doctor Doom.

Kinda wish they'd at least wait till the Super Bowl or something. Seems a bit early. Of course I want to see it though😆

Yeah does seem a bit early, but they are really banking on this movie to be a super monster success and are milking the hype machine, so they can re-coup the RDJ budget LOL, They really want everyone to know this is going to be a really impressive film (or is it?) , the hype is so manufactured at this point, I'm sure if they do get a trailer out, it's going to be a really short thing that just reminds the general public, this movie is coming! brace yourself.

sure I'm excited for this movie, but it's also like just getting to shoved down fans throats, I know it's coming, chill, I don't need to see a rumour about it everyday on my social media feed.

I'm hoping for as long as possible before they crush my dreams and show RDJ maskless. He said he wanted to.give us the best Doom he could, and that would include never, or maybe one time after Secret Wars, taking off the helmet.

Ironically, in showing first RDJ as Doom and now Chris Evans apparently returning as Cap, I'm less excited for Doomsday. I know Majors and to an extent Disney dropped the ball with Kang, but Doom feels so incredible shoehorned in that it's hard for me to get invested.

I'm fine with the Thor focus, especially if Doomsday is his send-off but there is absolutely no reason to bring back Cap. Who knows how much of this movie is going to be focused on a character that had a legitimate send-off at the end of the Infinity Saga and has just been tossed back in? They should have put much more time and effort into making the new characters feel like the old mainstays of the MCU used to be. How am I supposed to get attached to any of these new characters when they're only in one movie, get all but forgotten about, and then the new Avengers movie, the only one that actually had a shot at making those new guys feel like the MCU we used to know and love, they're just gonna do the Star Wars thing and toss in OT characters to elicit pseudo-hype instead of actually putting in the effort to make cohesive stories with new characters.

I held on for a long time through the ups and downs of Phase 4 and 5, I maintained my faith that they would find their footing again, but every new update and reveal about Doomsday just makes me less and less excited for it. What used to be one of the largest parts of my life has become just the occasional movie I go see because it's tradition at this point. That hype that used to exist leading into Infinity War and Endgame is long gone, and they're going to have to do a whole lot more than just shove in every nostalgia character they can think of to make me feel that kind of emotion again.

I personally don't love that they are, rumored to be doing a story that is a rip off of the Kang plot from the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon. It worked there, but if they use it here, for Doom it'll be weak. Doom deserves better. Hopefully these are bad rumors, and totally off base. As always, I want this to be amazing, but as a Kang fan and a Doom fan I don't love what I'm hearing so far.

Sure cool, the hype train rolls on, I'm sorta thinking I know where this is going, and why Endgame is getting a re-release prior, it's looking obvious Steve's going back in time caused a problem and Doom sees the need to clean things up to avoid an incursion of the multiverses, but things go poorly, leading to Secret Wars..which we all can imagine is going to be much more modern Secret Wars and not so much the 80's Secret Wars...

Endgame was a great send-off for the Infinity Saga cast.

Days of Future Past was a great send-off for the Fox X-Men cast.

Why bring them all back?

We’ve been waiting so long for the X-Men to make their debut in the MCU. When they finally do, it’s the same old actors. I love them, most definitely. But I was and am still ready for a new cast for X-Men.

You will get a new cast of X-Men (well, maybe not Wolverine).

I'm shocked people are so up in arms over this. MCU had a great core team for many movies. They retired that team (partly to save money). Their movies started doing much worse. They are bringing that team back (partly) to reset their universe. And people are upset. If you didn't want to see the A-list cast again, you should have bought more tickets for the Eternals. 🙂

I wanna disagree with you, but as someone who still saw everything in theater opening night, I felt like I was a minority. Your take has some real truth to it!

I'm not feeling it either. Also still concerned about casting Downey as Doom. He just doesn't have the gravitas, the presence, for Doom (in my opinion). I see no reason they couldn't have gone with Kang. However I do like the idea of Steve coming back; Falcon needs to be Falcon.

You don't know why they didn't go with Kang?

They were definitely done with Kang. And I can understand why they went with RDJ as Doom. He instantly increased interest in the MCU and the next film. Will he be good? I have no idea. I don't even know if they plan to link Doom with Stark or just pretend RDJ is Victor von Doom (an entirely different person). But I totally understand why they have gone the way they did.

It's just a guess on my part, but I think @Atlantis just meant going with Kang as originally planned but with a different actor. With all the Kang variants Marvel Studios could have been able to do it.

I think they should stuck with Kang too, especially since the rumored Steve angle is right out of a Kang storyline. They just can't stop robbing Peter to pay Paul in the MCU. One of the biggest things that annoy me as the yrs go on. Watching them waste good stories by doing them too early to be impactful.

Thank you, that's exactly why.  I didn't think it needed to be said, but they've recast roles before, and Kang has always been more of an Avengers foe, especially for the bulk of the 70s era.

I think Kevin saw that whole Kang storyline starting from Loki show and going into Qauntummania just didn't attract much hype, and that movie already "spent" Kang as the villain, so audience would see no urgency and be hesitant to watch big event movie about bad guy who was already beaten by ants, even if they used all different more powerful Kang variant.

They really should have just done a post credit where Kang walked out of some MacGuffin into the room decimated by ants and said, "Ahhh, all according to plan" smiled and cut. But no, they had to make him look weak. One of the main problems with that movie. But any good writer shoulda been able to fix anything. I just think the corporate guys panicked as soon as stuff wasn't making a bullion dollars after Endgame, not understanding it was gonna need to build to that again.

Imo I think they should have used Quantum mania as partial hype machine for the Kang, he could have been in the movie especially in flashbacks but gone for the most duration of the movie,  while Modok should have been developed into proper main villain with real motivation and revenge instead of a joke character we got and maybe by the end credit they could have showed F4 fighting and losing to Kang to build the hype.

I agree with this. While I enjoyed Quantumania, the mistake was putting Kang as the main villain and having Antman and Wasp defeat him. Even if they showed there were hundreds, maybe thousands more of him, at the end of the day he was defeated by Antman and the Wasp. Hard to get people to take him seriously as your new Thanos type villain that way. Modok should absolutely have been a much more serious character and pretty much been what Ronan was in GotG. The big bad for that movie serving the bigger bad. The Loki tv show worked well in showing us the timelines and the threat of Kang. More shows and movies should have done that.

I'm honestly sick of looking for these online. There are a, seemingly endless, slew of AI slop "trailers" out there. And even the ones that say "official" look pretty AI heavy to me. Maybe it's all the de aging on our aged out cast. Ultimately, other than the fact that Cap is in it, we are essentially getting confirmation of Thor and the X Men in the movies. Which we got from the chairs.
